Overnight Totals
- At least eight people were wounded in separate shootings around the city Friday night and early this morning, police said.
- There were also two homicides from gunshots overnight -- of a 22-year-old man on the South side and of a 20-year-old man on the Near West Side.
We're sure those totals are short a few. and we know it doesn't count a few Armed Robberies where victims went home with more holes than they arrived with. As it was the dampest April on record, we're sure someone will rush to take credit if crime is "down" again, but the catch-up is coming.

Typical neverending ghetto bullshit. The ghetto is funded by failed government programs. Why should the police even patrol these areas? Nobody in the ghetto pays taxes. The police should only be in areas where people pay taxes.
If these people are living off the federal government, then the government should create its own police force for these areas. This would give the taxpayers their deserved city police protection from thugs and the ghetto rats would have to try suing the government instead of the city.
018 was waaaaaay out of control tonight, flash mobs and wilding all over the gold coast; from rush st to water tower wild packs of 50-60 deep would bum rush stores, steal, and flee. Also a couple strong arms thrown in for good measure, as well as a group of almost 100 on the lake front knocking people off of bikes, and beating people at random. And no they weren't white kids from Schaumburg....
I wonder how much longer they will be able to keep the downtown wildings quiet?
As of 6:15 a.m. 1 MAY 11, Chicago Breaking News reports 13 people shot this weekend ...man! And it ain't even summer yet or above 80 degrees.

Damn! 13 shot overnight and 8 Friday into Saturday=21 people shot over weekend. If the Media would do a count for last 10 days (22Apr-1May)
they would see that nearly 50 people were shot.

Wildings will continue as long the police lay on their backs and do nothing per leadership order and the media refuses to publish per city hall directions. When someone gets killed, then they will do something. If they are attacking citizens already, that will be the next thing...a fatality. Maybe we can get Vanecko to come back and knock someone silly.

"Nigerian teammates of a teenage soccer player who was shot to death near where the boys were staying on the South Side have been relocated to live with families on the North Shore, their coach said Friday.
"The four friends witnessed the slaying of their 16-year-old countryman, Kabiru Adewunmi, this week as the teens walked in the 800 block of East 82nd street in the Chatham neighborhood.
"...the boys passed a group of men, one of whom asked whether they were "those African soccer players."
"The Nigerian teens previously had been mocked because of their exotic, colorful clothing."

Uh -- someone should do something. K9s, shotguns, buses for mass arrests. Going to have to ask for help from the suburbs; CPD is undermanned and everyone knows it, most of all the chain-snatchers.
This is the way Mayor Daley wanted it, and this is the way Mayor Daley is leaving it.
It was crazy downtown last night, I observed the "wilding" first hand. Several people were attacked by the mob and I heard several stores were hit. This hands off approach seems to really be working, lol.
What ....... I think hillard needs to have a sit down with the gangs and tell em to knock of off.
These flash mobs and wildings need full fledged media coverage.

Ex-con who killed grandmother charged in robbery

"A 44-year-old man on parole for the murder of his grandmother, who was slain with a meat cleaver 24 years ago, was in court today to face charges in the violent armed robbery of a West Side convenience store.
"Gregory Turner, 44, was arrested Saturday in an alley behind his home in the 200 block of South Laramie Avenue after he was identified in a photo lineup...Turner held on $900,000 bond on counts of armed robbery, aggravated unlawful restraint and possession of a controlled substance.
"In 1987, Turner was convicted of killing his 59-year-old grandmother, Lillian Broome,with a meat cleaver after she refused to give him money to buy cocaine...Broome was stabbed in the face and head more than two dozen times...and Turner took $310 the straw-thin woman had hidden in her apartment in the LeClaire Courts complex of the Chicago Housing Authority...when police questioned him that night, his shoes still were spattered with Broome's blood.
"Turner was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He was released in 2008 and was due to end his parole in November..."

We need videos for Youtube. The press and 018 will hide the crimes until there are videos or a important person is hurt. If a TV personality or reporter was the victim then they would report the wildings.
Just because 50 or 60 englewood residents decide to go walking and shopping without money does not mean police can do anything proactive about it. UNLESS they want to be stripped and sent to callback for racial styling and profiling. Daley gave this city away to the reverends and this is what you have, Detroit is now wishing they never turn into Chicago. Thanks Richie you turd.

This will only be put under control once the tourists start to post on sites like trip advisor and then other tourists stop coming.
Also, the merchants on Michigan Ave need to step up and start doing something as well. Its almost as if they allow it. What are they doing about it.

I'm a citizen who had to work in the Loop last Saturday. Didn't witness any mob action, but there was definitely a creepy, tense vibe. Reminded me of State street back in the Byrne days, when it was scary to try to shop downtown.
