Cardinal Francis George suspended Rev. Michael Pfleger from his ministry at St. Sabina Catholic Church and barred him from performing Catholic sacraments over public statements Pfleger made about a possible reassignment.
In a letter from George to Pfleger released to the media on Wednesday, the Cardinal said Pfleger’s public remarks that he would leave the Catholic Church rather than accept a position outside of St. Sabina led to his decision.
“If that is truly your attitude, you have already left the Catholic Church and are therefore not able to pastor a Catholic parish,” George wrote.
Good riddance.

hahahahahah... I wish it was all true but dont worry... Pflager will get his way... dont you worry, he will be back at sabina in no time saying mass.. Im also looking for a publicity stunt from him. He will go to say mass and get arrested making himself a martyr of the gresham neighborhood and get a movie made after him. The community will revolt after his arrest and he will be a superstar and he will get backing from the national media. as arnold says, Ill be back!

If you read the comments from Sabina's urban congregation, they all cite emotional reasons why they believe "Father Flavor" shouldn't be punished by the Cardinal.
Not one of these "catholics" realize why "Father Flavor" is being suspended. Perhaps if they had any understanding of their alleged faith, they would understand the Cardinal's decision.
The Cardinal is finally behaving like one. Finally.

Officers from the 007th District respond to a call of "Group Of Male Blacks Drinking On The Corner".
Upon arrival, responding officers observe a group of males, some of which are holding containers consistent with those used to package alcoholic beverages. After briefly looking in responding officers' direction, the group begins to disperse in various directions. The seasoned savages instinctively discard their open alcohol. However, a lone member of this particular "Bottle Gang" does not.
Instead, he tightly retains his malt liquor with one hand, while the other hand frantically tries to maintain the height of his belt-less, slouching Fubu jeans as he scampers off. He tries to blend in with the neighborhood, but to no avail.
In short order, he is stopped for a field interview and "patted-down" for weapons. Intermingled between indiscernible "huhs?" and "Who, mes?", two clearly-verbalized phrases are heard: "Y'all fuckin' wit me cuz I'm black" and "I betcha you punkass poleese don't fuck with peeples in yo hood like dis".
The subject produces identification at the officer's request. A name check via PDT determines that subject Michael Louis Pfleger is wanted for "Impersonating A Member Of Clergy" ***.

I am so very glad that Phleger is out. He is not what the Catholic church is about. He is all about himself.
Let him start his own store front church. He will fit in perfectly with the other ghetto reverends.

I don't think Pfleger will resign. He's too smart. He knows that his gimmick is that he's a white Catholic priest in a black parish. Without the collar the novelty is gone. I predict he'll go quietly like Clements who was given a graceful way out while questions about financial "sticky fingers" was taken care of without the press finding out. Smart money on a position at Xavier U in New Orleans. National position and profile, no parish work and a stage.
OH NO mr.bill another lawsuit filed against the F.O.P. by a former female employee that Mikey fired. Some more bad legal advice from the root of all the problems.
To illustrate Pfleger's megalomania -- when Cardinal George offered Pfleger the principal's seat in nearby Leo High School, Pfleger countered with the suggestion that Leo High School simply be folded into St. Sabina's! That way, he could run both places from a single throne.
The guy was serious. That may have been what finally blew the Cardinal's wig. God knows it took long enough.
There should be a "good riddance" counterdemonstration at the Cardinal's place. "Thank you" signs, "Enough Was Enough," etc.

Uh...yeah, please do. A real man just is what he is. He doesn't put on different dialects depending on his audience. Pfleger was such an embarrassment that I don't know how the parishioners put up with him.
No loss, he's a Baptist anyway. And Leo High School doesn't want him.

I'm no fan of Phleger and find it offensive that he and his followers feel that the archdiocese's rules and operating procedures do not apply to him.

"ghettolicious congregation"? how ignorant and racist are you to make that leap. That is so far from the truth. They are working and middle class individuals who are not unlike those who post on this blog. The only difference is they are Black and many reside in the neighborhood surrounding St. Sabina. Perhaps it makes you feel better about yourself to have someone to look down on, whether that belief is based in reality or not.

I didn't realize that church rules have said, since 1970, that a pastor may serve no more than two consecutive six-year terms at a church.
Pfleger has been at St. Sabina's for thirty years straight.
He hasn't aged or matured one tiny bit in all that time, either. There's something really wrong when you see that.
Someone's gotta say it -- if St. Sabina's depends on one man and one man alone, it's not a church, it's a cult.
Poor Mikey no longer has his political patron, Daley, to protect him. Both Mike and George are crzy. Mike at least does some good for someone else. George holds all the aces. Canon Law won't save Mike, because even the Vatican cannot force a bishop to give you an assignment. All they make the bishop do is pay the man and keep him on the insurance plan. Mike is screwed.
