Another Mob Incident

In case you were distracted by everything else going on, Rahm's promise that downtown is safe and adequate manpower is available to preserve law and order? It's working just great!
  • The teenage robbery mobs are at it again on North Michigan Avenue.

Some 50 young people barged into a Walgreens at Michigan and Chicago on the Magnificent Mile on Tuesday afternoon. They took bottled drinks and sandwiches off the shelves, then ran off, CBS 2′s [...] reports.

A police report says authorities were able to nab three of the thieves.

Must have been a test run for the Taste.

Well, Emmanuel should take a page from the Great Stutter and respond to all these reports as we have become accustomed to:

"Silly, this is just silly, plain old silly. I'm not going to comment on silly. It's silly."

That should make the tabloid writers, I mean journalists, go away.

We stay in a Gold Coast hotel, drop a couple of hundred bucks in your restaurants, take in the: Shedd, Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier ... you get the picture. Not this year! I don't feel safe.

Mobs and Flash Mobs.

Didn't you people get the memo?

We have to stop using those words and be more aware of the images that they conjure up when we say them.

Some have said we should call them Multiple Offender Incidents instead.

However I think we can do better than that. I say we call them caravans.

Caravans sounds like so much fun doesn't it. Adventure, travel, comradely are the images that word conjures up for me.

Roaming caravans of honor roll students....Now who's gonna fear that?

When you think about it, this is quite funny. Because the teachers, or the unions, or anybody else, can rant about Rahm, and try to get the upper hand, and he's like--F/U.

But a bunch of 'yutes' has the capability to bring him to his knees. Nowehere to deliver the dead fish.....

SCC: Found this on the web.

A little long, but this is our new McHack:

McCarthy, too, has something to learn — about knowing when to hold’ em and when to fold ‘em.

No, we’re not suggesting he withdraw as police director, a job for which he still appears to have a fighting chance. Nor are we referring to his arrest in February, 2005, by the Palisades Interstate Parkway police following his actions one can view as either aberrational or illustrative of his character.

Rather it’s what he did after his arrest; his decision to fight the charges rather than walk away as Chief of Department Joe Esposito advised him when McCarthy telephoned Espo after he’d been hand-cuffed and disarmed, for raising hell with the two arresting Palisades officers after one of them issued his daughter Kyla a parking ticket.

Instead of walking away — Take the ticket and get out of there as quickly as you can, wise old Joe told him — McCarthy tried to tough it out.

“Not guilty,” he, Kyla and his wife Regina [who was charged with excessive noise] belted out together in their first appearance at the Palisades Parkway traffic court. He and Regina subsequently appeared in court a half-dozen times, their antics reported in this column in delicious detail.

In finding McCarthy guilty of a minor traffic violation, the judge, Stephen Zaben, cited the fact that McCarthy had been drinking before the incident; noted that if McCarthy believed the cop who had ticketed Kyla to be an imposter as McCarthy claimed in his testimony, McCarthy should have contacted the Palisades Parkway police supervising officer before confronting the cop; stated that McCarthy, rather than the two arresting Palisades cops, had been the aggressor; and criticized Regina for grabbing her husband’s gun back from the two Palisades cops who had confiscated it.

Then, McCarthy insisted on appealing. Last week, Patrick Roma, a New Jersey Appellate Judge, affirmed Zaben’s guilty verdict, adding that McCarthy had “thrown his weight around” and used “extraordinarily poor judgment.”

And in words that may return to haunt him, he was quoted in the Newark Star Ledger — which has already questioned his appointment — saying that that the lesson he had learned about his arrest was “how not to run a police agency” — specifically, “poor candidate screening, an absolute lack of supervision, no discipline and poor policies within that agency

Of course this is buried by the Times & The Tribune....why?

Because Chicago Breaking News is where most people sittingon trains, cabs or buses head to for news because they think they'll read everything there first.

These two news companies are deliberately refusing to cover these incidents to protect Emenstruel.

Maybe spent a bit more ink shining the light on how these two outlets are refusing to public important information that should be told to the public as a safety issue for them.

I think anyone who's a victim of these shitheads should be including the Trib and the Times in their lawsuits for failing to inform the public of a safety risk when other, smaller news outlets are obviously aware of it.

You stay here for an entire weekend with your wife, grown up kid, son in law and grandkids and you spend only $200 in the gold coast restaurants? Where do you eat all your meals at for your weekend here, Portillo's?
If that's all you spend for a weekend of eating in Chicago (while staying in a Gold Coast Hotel to boot) for more than 4 people, your letter MUST be a work of fiction!

The department might learn some goos things from the former NYPD boss, as his former co-workers in the NYPD really think highly of him. But, on the other hand, that east coast culture might not go over big in Chicago and he will be the last outsider hired to run the department for the next 50 years.Considering what Daley and his patronage policies left in the command structure of the department, we couldn't have done much worse. It is too early to tell how things will go. The guy has only been here a few weeks and the critics have been relentless.

Really, not enough attention has been paid by Rahm, our city council or the media concerning this arrest.
No officer worth his badge (and certainly no chief of police) would risk getting ARRESTED because his grown kid (and I use this term lightly; whether she was 16 or over 21, anyone with a DL knows you don't park in a handicapped space unless you are HANDICAPPED) received a parking ticket.
Hopefully, most of us have raised our children to be responsible operators of automobiles who have enough sense not to call us for some minor BS such as this. Had it been me as a teen, I would have paid the ticket quickly and hoped my father would never have been the wiser about it. This incident showed poor judgement on McSupe's daughter as well as Mr. and Mrs. McSupe. for allowing this to blossom into an entire family embarrassment.

letter my business partner and I wrote to elected demoted state representative

To say that we are disappointed in you would be an understatement. Back in
April and May we wrote, faxed and emailed you asking you to support HB 148 that would have allowed concealed carry in Illinois, something that was supported by a large percentage of the law enforcement community. The bill was well written however I did feel that a continuing education requirement at renewal should have been added to help weed out those who’s mental or physical capacity had diminished with illness or age, yet that point could have been added at a latter date.

As I write this Illinois is the only state that does not allow some form of concealed carry. I ask you, could the legislature of the other 49 states be wrong and Illinois is right when it comes to concealed carry. Is the Illinois legislature superior in their wisdom and decision making then those of other states? Sadly one only has to look at Illinois’s appalling financial condition, increased taxes and job losses to know the answer to that question.

On May 5th you voted against concealed carry voting in lockstep with the speaker Michael Madigan and through postponed consideration the vote was not recorded so the general public would not easily know how their elected representatives voted.

As a small business owner since 1986 I have found the business environment in Illinois becoming increasingly hostile. Unfortunately, I don’t know whom I fear more, the criminal element or the elected element in Springfield. You could have changed mine and perhaps the rest of America’s perception of the Illinois legislature with a simple yes vote, but instead chose not to. Shame on you.

This wasnt a typical flash mob thing, just suburban whitey watching too much tv and thinking they could do this shit too. The flash mob shit really has basically stopped down there. There are fucking coppers or ppos at every corner since they have a class of 50(all taken from districts such as 004, 006, 003 if u want to talk about a waste of manpower) now just walking michigan avenue and standing at corners. Slightly off topic, but speaking of the Taste, I noticed something the other day that could have the potential to result in multiple injuries to people near the vicinity of the Art Institute. I saw some people installing what I assume is intended to be a sculpture in the flower beds on the east side of Michigan Avenue between Jackson and Van Buren. And by "installing" I mean simply laying hundreds of pastel-painted 2x4s on the ground, where in previous years there were always plantings. I'm guessing the City didn't have the $ this year to plant those beds, so they went with a quick and cheap alternative to get some color into the planters. My concern is that those roving bands of misguided Amish yutes will pick up these easy-to-swing 4 to 8 foot lengths of 2x4 and swing them like clubs, much like they did with tree branches last year. Might want to keep an eye on these.

What you are seeing now, with these flash gangs, is the result of 45 years of Fabian Socialism, the government's nanny state.
The same people who can't balance their budgets, run their post office, Amtrak, are increasing telling us they should spend our money for us and take over our healthcare.

Happening in Peoria too. The pols here are just as clueless and the police force has been severely cut.
From the pres. of a neighborhood ass'n:
"Tonight[6/24], around 11 p.m., a group of at least 60-70 African American youth marched down one of the side streets (W. Thrush) to the 4 lane main drag (Sheridan). They were yelling threats to white residents. Things such as we need to kill alll the white people around here. They were physically intimidating anyone calling for help from the police. They were surrounding cars. Cars on the main drag had to slam on their brakes to either avoid the youth blocking not only all four lanes, but a large section of the side street as well. fights were breaking out among them. They were rushing residents who looked out their doors, going on to porches, yelling threats to people calling the police for help.

Cars were doing U turns on the streets just to avoid the mob, mostly male. One youth stated his grandfather was white and several assaulted him on the spot. One police officer answered the call. The youth split into two large groups, one heading north, the other south. They were also yelling racial threats to the police officer but he was outnumbered. Another police car did not show up until after the youth finally dispersed and the patty wagon (van) also eventually showed up.
Residents are very shaken, both black and white alike. This is the fifth large mob action in about a month with smaller groups of 10-12 are out threatening children and adults a few evenings a week or later into the night. The times vary, even occuring during the day. In talking to the police officer, they are short staffed. Residents were advised to simply keep inside and to lock their doors. In other words buckle down, it’s not even safe to sit on your porch or go into your yards."

OT: Sears get's $50 million dollar offer to move it's HQ and 5,000 jobs to Michigan.

-clip-

[...]

Sears has expressed its dissatisfaction with recent Illinois legislation that has temporarily hiked the corporate tax rate to 7% from 4.8% and has said it would consider moving out of state. The Hoffman Estates-based retailer, parent of Kmart and Sears department stores, has been in talks with representatives from Washington, D.C., North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee and New Jersey, according to news reports.

[...]

Gov. Pat Quinn has said he would work with Sears to find a way to keep it from leaving Illinois.

The retailer is among 107 companies that will see tax breaks expire in the next three years, a situation that could lead to a number of defections.

Caterpillar Inc. and CME Group Inc. are other firms that have threatened to leave Illinois in recent weeks and months.

Mr. Quinn has already cut a deal with Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. in which the state will grant the firm $100 million in tax breaks over the next decade if the mobile-phone manufacturer agrees to keep its headquarters in Libertyville. The cell-phone maker agreed to maintain 3,000 jobs in Illinois.

Well when Quinn falls for the bluff that will be three corporations down and 106 corporations to go as they take the open seat at the poker table.

The deal that was done for Motorola and Cat did not require as much protection for jobs as the many stories tell us.

For example the 3,000 jobs touted in the Motorola deal was only a verbal promise. What was put in writing was 2,500 jobs and a similar game with the numbers was played with the Caterpillar deal.

Quinn is busy cutting checks for his corporate campaign contributing friends playing God on which companies should survive and which shall fail while giving us the double talk about helping small business. How in the hell are you helping when you get to play favorites for photo ops.

The officers were undercover on Michigan Ave. They were trying to learn the identities of the Multiple offender incidents and develop a pattern. Actually no one is available to cover Michigan Ave.

The "Homeland Security" threat is not as high anymore, and if you expect to catch these low life, welfare, crack babies, well then put some plain clothes officers in the area to do decoy, and covert police work, then maybe that might work. Rahm, as well as Quinn, Tunney, the Madigans, Anita Avarez and all the rest of the politicians will be at the Gay Pride Parade.

It's a shame they value their vote more than ours, but that is our fault because not enough of us vote.

If we had time we should seed leaflets in the route that say,
"WE ARE NOT SAFE! THE CITTY NEEDS TO HIRE MORE POLICE! Tell the Mayor! Tell your Alderman! HIRE MORE POLICE NOW!"

The in the crowd we should have people with bull horns that shout that, especially when the cameras are rolling when they interview the politicians.

I bet McG will be there.

**POP**POP**POP**

Wait... so is it four dead and nine wounded from last night or five dead and eight wounded?

I've lost count and I see in the headlines another victim succumbed to their gun shot wounds about 30 minutes or so ago?

Meanwhile this afternoon another seven year old gets it in the leg in Englewood and a 45 year old man dodges a bullet and was grazed.

In other news...Reports coming out of the Alderman Burke, Ex-mayor Daley, and Taste of Chicago "Green Zones" indicate that they are all having a good time, feel safe and secure, confident with their taxpayer provided army's of personal protection that we are not entitled to.

It is unknown at present if yet another political photo op has been schedule to use the seven year old gun shot victim as a tool -- announcing the printing up and passing out of more flyers by the alder-manic community -- so we'll just have to sit tight awhile until they decide on the political presentations necessary to advance their personal wealth and social-economic agendas.

Don't let this crisis go to waste. You can use those kids to win the hearts and minds of the people for more stuff, more power!!!

It's an annual thing for me to bring my wife, daughter, son in law and grandkids to Chicago for a weekend every summer. We stay in a Gold Coast hotel, drop a couple of hundred bucks in your restaurants, take in the: Shedd, Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier ... you get the picture. Not this year! I don't feel safe.

down shot ... this year, maybe every next year going forward, it'll be the Wisconsin Dells or Door County.

Get a handle on your problems Chicago.

6/25/2011 02:47:00 AM

I am a 26 year veteran police officer and I will join you up in Door County. I also think it isn't safe to go where you used to go on your city vacation.

I had to fight to remain in control of my own bicycle on the lakefront at the Oak St Beach at 400pm on a recent afternoon. I won't go to that lakefront again and I go with a gun.

Blame Richard M Daley and the long line of political hacks he installed to run the police department. Daley also stopped hiring at least three years ago. While other departments laid off cops outright, Chicago laid off cops through attrition.

I work in a high income area, many million dollar plus homes. Today in my district a young woman of 20 something was beat up by three flash mob type minority women. For no apparent reason, they didn't steal anything. And a homeless black man was walking down a residential street carrying a large knife. Again, for no apparent reason.

This on a Saturday afternoon. This is now the norm. The people living there seem oblivious to this. Alderman Burke and City Treasurer Neely have more police protecting them than the entire district had on duty today.

I don't blame you for staying away. Keep your family safe. don't come here.

PS, Mayor Emanuel has 17 officers (supposedly) on his security detail. Again, more than protects my entire district on days. Daley has 5, still, Burke has 6, Treasurer Neely has an unknown amount and who knows how many others are "protecting" the big shots.

The Cardinal also has a CPD protection detail, around the clock.

These protection details have not been cut, not at all. the rest of the city has had their protection cut but not the politicians. You pay, they enjoy.

We don't usually take my 3 and 5 year old grandsons to places like Charlie Trotters because ... Frankly ... I can't get them to try rare tuna or escargot yet.
Secondly, as someone pointed out, we don't drink in front of them. Call me old fashioned, but that's just me. Hamburger Hamlet or UNOs works fine with us.
Ps ... FU

For the person who wants to fix AIRA, good luck. We all got dumped back to our districts and there is no support for it. The civillians were laid off two years ago. The program just sits there untouched.

6/25/2011 08:34:00 AM

We have been using AIRA for how many years? It has been sitting there untouched for how many years? About time they caught onto your act!!!!!

6/26/2011 06:10:00 AM

Amen brother. That nitwit is asking for sympathy for having to go back to the field? The computer system is a joke. It is terrible.

Get some professionals to fix these systems. Part time PO part time computer "expert" is not cutting it.

Probably the same three who have been working all of Streeter Ville for the past five years or so. Two male blacks and one female black. They are working every hotel and restaurant in the area. They even go into NOrthwestern memorial Hospital and work the elevators and cafeteria on a regular basis. Security at the hospital is non existent.

hello all. im visiting my cousin here in the USA and trying to get in touch with a mate of mine who i went to school with in Ireland,I heard he was in the police in Chicago in the south side and may be retired now, his name is TONY or ANTHONY BARRY, I beleive he was a sgt,any info greatly apperciated. thank you.Kevin Foley,County Westmeath Ireland.

6/25/2011 12:46:00 PM

Wow, Tony Barry retired quite a while ago. Contact the Chicago Police Pension Board and ask them to phone him for you and give them a few contact numbers, including your hotel. Or, contact the FOP and ask for President Mike Shields, who also sits on the Pension Board, and maybe he can expedite the info for you, and get Barry to call you.

Good luck.

The judge was eating (outside) at the Westin hotel which is right next to John Hancock...her purse was taken by 2 male black offenders and a female black all in their 40's..sounds like a pro pick pocketing type crew...

STUPID TOURIST ALERT! STUPID TOURIST ALERT!!
This is not the result of some well-thought out, PROfessional crew staking out and executing a criminally brilliant plan.

It happens EVERY SINGLE DAY along Michigan Avenue and in the touristy areas. Chicagoans (most of us) know better than to hang purses over the backs of our chairs as we sip our drinks and allow ourselves to be distracted throughout our outdoor cafe meals.

Put the purse in your LAP, ladies, or on the floor, if you must, but with the leg of your chair through the purse handles. Those stupid little hooks that allow you to dangle the purse off the table edge are PERFECT for thieves because they don't even have to work to snag the purse.

Don't put the purse on the vacant chair next to you. Don't hang the purse where someone walking by can simply lift it up and continue walking, unnoticed by you til you need your card to pay the bill.

PAY ATTENTION to what you're doing with that container of your house keys, address/driver's license, money, credit cards, cherished photos, iPhone, car keys and remote, medications, hotel key, jewelery, etc. PAY ATTENTION.

This goes for briefcases and bookbags, too. And, OMG, it also happens inside restaurants and bars, not just at the outdoor cafes.

You stay here for an entire weekend with your wife, grown up kid, son in law and grandkids and you spend only $200 in the gold coast restaurants? Where do you eat all your meals at for your weekend here, Portillo's?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What do you care about where he eats or how much he spends, you nit picking jagoff? There is a larger point here.

Speaking of points, we could probably put your brain on the point of a sewing needle.

Here's an idea...

6/25/2011 04:31:00 PM

Wow spunky great idea. Go ahead you retard. I'm sure this plan of attack will be heard and 1000 officers will be hired by tomorrow morning. Don't you get it yet? They do not give two fucks about the police of citizens safety as long as they keep getting the vote and are protected by bodyguards 24/7!!!

It's spreading. This was Friday night in Peoria.

Tonight, around 11 p.m., a group of at least 60-70 African American youth marched down one of the side streets (W.

In other words buckle down, it’s not even safe to sit on your porch or go into your yards.

Stop making arrests and you won't get aggravated. I've haven't made one in months, I haven't been happier and less stressed out, no court. You ought to try it, its great for the family life.

Haaa I havent done a damn thing in about 6 years. This whole computer system we have is bullshit. Nothing in this city or this shit holed department does anything to set a person up to be successfull. Except for those who get on their knees.
