South Side Violence
Honestly, it would be a rare night that less than 5 people get shot lately:
- A man was left dead and eight others were wounded in separate overnight shootings on the city's South Side, officials said.
- As of 3:20 a.m., no one was in custody for any of the shootings. Wentworth Area detectives were investigating.

Story after story that ends with:
"no-one in custody, investigators are investigating"
...and that my friends is how we can say that violent crime is down.
As long as we are still investigating maybe there's been no crime whatsoever eh! These cases are in investigative purgatory.

Could be an accident, could be self defense...could be a suicide we're investigating. Can't put it into the violent crime category until the investigation is finished right?
Oh and here's a twist for the major media outlets.
Maybe the way that violent crime is measured and interpreted here in this sanctuary city of drug cartels members and illegal immigrants is all wrong.
Maybe the published violent crime numbers being down is not a sign of crime being down due to the success of community policing, but a measure of how successful the gangs are in intimating the witnesses from stepping forward to report the crimes, stepping forward to show up in court and stepping up to close all those investigations!
Maybe the published crime numbers are down because the public is pretty much fed up with knowing it's a lost cause to report a crime.
I mean one of the first signs that you know that you're living in a ghetto is the three hour plus response time when you call 911 due to the backlogs.
No-one is going to talk because they know that you are either unwilling or unable to protect them from retribution if they do. So crime can be reported as being down.
The political apparatus has created an environment so that you can't even protect yourself as you can do in 49 other states because of Illinois idiotic gun controls that have shown to consistently fail.
..yeah fail in the traditional sense of the word meaning that if the intent was to get the guns out of the hands of criminals it's failing.
If the intent was to get the guns out of the hands of the law abiding citizens however so that the gang members can maintain the upper hand and continue to intimidate people from stepping forward so the political apparatus can than falsely report that crime is down because investigations never end -- well then the gun laws are a great success and let the political agenda and b.s. propaganda continue.
Sure it's easy for aldermen like Burke to tell people to step forward and call 911. Burke gets to carry a weapon. Burke get's his taxpayer provided 24/7 security force and drivers.
Burke cares about Burke and could give a shit if you or someone in your family gets popped in the head.
You're suppose to call 911 according to the politicians. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad on how out of touch these people are!
Crime is more violent then every don't kid yourself. The people on the front line know it. The people in the ghetto know it.

"Lepaul Williams...donned a black wig, pink halter-top and blue pajama pants-- accessorized with a handgun...
"Thus disguised, Williams, 35, walked up to his neighbor, Bryan Stalling and a group of men shooting dice down the block from his home on the first block of East 102nd Place around 1 a.m...
"Williams shot Stalling in the chest once, then walked to Stalling’s car, smashed out the windows with the butt of his pistol, doused the car in lighter fluid and set it on fire..."
These are the same people who can't figure out where to go swimming, or how to get fresh fruit.
It's not that credulity is strained. It was destroyed decades ago.
