Thanks Again Democrats!

  • Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn today defended a major toll increase on the eve of the tollway board's vote on the issue.

"The tollway has to do what's necessary to protect safety, lessen congestion, make sure that we have roads that are efficient," Quinn said at an unrelated news conference. "Clearly there is public support for making sure that we do this and do it right."

Yeah, because the public is always looking for ways to give government more money during a double-dip recession.

Exhibit B:
  • Chicago School Board members Wednesday unanimously approved a budget packing a $150 million property tax increase as school officials offered elementary teachers raises totaling $15 million to work a longer day.

Meanwhile, parents, clergy and others turned up the heat on all parties involved to find a way to achieve a longer school day and year.
Rahm is living up to his promise of not raising taxes by having everyone else do it evidently. Which leads us to this little number.

Exhibit C:
  • In a trend that continues to worsen, more Illinoisans found themselves unemployed in the month of July.

Illinois lost more jobs during the month of July than any other state in the nation, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report. After losing 7,200 jobs in June, Illinois lost an additional 24,900 non-farm payroll jobs in July. The report also said Illinois’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.5 percent. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in the unemployment rate.

Illinois started to create jobs as the national economy began to recover. But just when Illinois’s economy seemed to be turning around, lawmakers passed record tax increases in January of this year. Since then, Illinois’s employment numbers have done nothing but decline.
Here it is in living color:

Brought to you by the Democratic party.

So we're foreclosing property faster than the schools can raise the property taxes on it to pay for the illegal immigrant caused overcrowding in the classrooms.

...and how bad is the job situation?

Well, Illinois has 380,00 fewer jobs then we had way back eleven years ago in Jan. 2000.

ELEVEN YEARS PEOPLE!!

Forget the rhetoric about we saved this job and we are creating that job. WE HAD MORE PEOPLE WORKING IN ILLINOIS IN Jan 2000!

(please excuse the all caps -- I'm so tired of this jobs propaganda)

Ask yourself. Where did all those new entrants to the workforce go over the last 11 years?

Welfare and food stamps that's where or they left the state. However nationwide the number of people counted as employed are no better either.

In the second quarter, 7% of loans in Illinois were in foreclosure, according to the Mortgage Bankers Assn., which ranks it fourth in the nation. Ohio and Indiana also rounded out the top 10, with 4.95% and 4.86% of loans in foreclosure in that time period, respectively.

[...]

Illinois, for example, still has 380,000 fewer jobs than it did in January 2000, he said. Weakness in the banking sector and government cutbacks are slowing job growth in the state, he said. Illinois is one of the few states that has also lost jobs from July 2010 to this July, shedding 28,300.

Quinn got one thing right; this will lessen the congestion on the tollways. People will avoid them.

Lower the tolls. More people will use the tollways and you will make up in volume what you lose in individual 'profit margin'.

Gov Potato Head wants to take credit for creating over 200 jobs in the Hegewisch neighborhood, in building an overpass at 130 & Torrence. Anybody familiar with the area knows that this was supposed to begin at least 10 years ago. Now he says he created jobs (with the politically connected Walsh construction company.)

Recently former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich addressed this very issue...

"You know, the fact is, class warfare kills jobs, bureaucratic socialism kills jobs — [Obama] believes deeply in both,” Gingrich told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“One of the reasons he can’t just come out and give us a jobs’ speech tomorrow morning is they are trying to be clever. And the reason they’re trying to be clever is, nothing that will really work fits their ideology ..."

I think that says everything we need to know about Democrats and Jobs right there: NOTHING THAT WILL REALLY WORK FITS THEIR IDEOLOGY

To get to the Hegewisch construction site from the rest of the City one must drive down the third world track called Torrence Avenue. This stretch of roadway has more potholes and pieces of metal covering them than any road in the United States.

Thank you Governor Quinn, Alderman Pope and Streets & San Commissioner Thomas Byrne.

After raising State Income Tax 66%, he now wants to raise tolls 86%. And then he has the balls to say the public wants it!!

The only thing the public wants is for the Democrats out of power here and in the rest of the country.

The Port Authority now want to raise tunnel and bridge rates in and out of NYC, making some tolls $36 round trip.

Do Necco wafers still work in toll booths?

The report also said Illinois’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.5 percent. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in the unemployment rate.

Only 9.5? That's what they tell you.
How do they figure that percentage?
What about the people that have exhusted unemployement benefits. Are they out of the unemployement chart?

Unemployement rates, are most likely clasified as Chimp-cago murders...how?
Indoors and outdoor murders.

E.G. If run out of benefits today, you are not longer considered unemployed but homeless.

Imagine the pride in these less than documented resident when they can expierience what it is like to be a full fleged American. They can boast that they "have skin in the game" or have made a "sacrafice" to assist in maintaining our nation's crumbling infrastructive, investing in light rail, investing in our nation's schools, providing for the "guaranteed" school breakfast program and assisting all those undocumented hard workers who are doing the jobs Americans won't do while collecting the gamut of entitlements. Instead Little Dick is proposing a national tax on American citizens for all internet purchases known as the Main Street Fairness Act.

More Democratic Party shenanigans;
There is an estimated 10 million illegal immigrants in the US.
Obama, by signing a Executive Order instructing ICE/DOJ to stop deportation of same, except on certain criminal cases, thus in essence creating " back door amnesty ".
That was last week.
Today, Obama announces a " voters registration drive ".
Guess who will be the target of this " drive "?
The State of Michigan has determined that approximately 10,000 illegals are on its voters rolls.
Michigan has appealed to the SSA Department to verify SSAN of those 10 thousand as they are suspected to be false.
SSA Department has refused.
Coincidence? I think not. Look for Obama to be re-elected in 2012 by " landslide "

The business insider web site makes a pretty good attempt at summing up Illinois situation.

====

The outlook was grim enough that Moody's ranked Illinois with California as the states with the lowest credit rating, although unlike California, Illinois had a negative outlook. Last year, the failed drug state of Mexico had a higher credit rating.

“The state has been spending $3 for every $2 it takes in, and borrowing to cover its current operating expenses,” warned Miles White, chairman of Illinois based Abbot Laboratories and of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago in an address last September.

========

Although they missed the fact that the number personal bankruptcies in northern Illinois, including the Chicago area are running about 1000~1250 PER WEEK, or 5,000 per month or 15,000 per quarter depending on how you want to look at it.

====

In the Northern District of Illinois, which includes the greater Chicago area, 15,020 people filed for bankruptcy during the second quarter of the year, down from 15,318 in the first quarter. That's about a two percent drop.

Those numbers are a drop from the peak in recent years of 16,768 bankruptcy filings during the second quarter of 2010. But in 2006 in this district, 20,052 people filed for bankruptcy in the entire year.

WOOT - We're number one again!!!

USPS Closings.

It's not getting any better just more taxes that's all.

----------

With the United States Postal Service losing $8.5 billion last year—and with nearly half of all bill payments now being made online—some 3,653 post offices nationwide (out of 31,871) are being reviewed for possible closing. Illinois carries the dubious distinction of having the most potential closures—176. The vast majority are in small communities and rural areas, but Chicago gets whacked with the possible closing of 12 stations—and all of them sit in the congressional districts of either Danny Davis or Bobby Rush.

http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/Felsenthal-Files/August-2011/Post-Office-Closings-in-Chicago-Will-Low-Income-Neighborhoods-Bear-the-Brunt/

It's a bit ironic isn't it?

The stations in the areas that are less likely to have people that can afford internet service and computers to pay their bills on-line will lose their post offices.

Of course that assumes that they pay their bills.

Guess they'll just have to go do some Apple picking so they can be responsible eh?

Losing a quarter of a million postal workers via layoffs isn't going to help the tax situation.

/sarcasm

Illinois, BY FAR, has more layers of taxing bodies than ANY other state in this country! The Illinois Tollway Authority is one of the worst, with dozens of $100,000 a year "executives" who do nothing there. I also remember past scandals where Tollway owned helicopters and a Lear jet were being used as personal transportation perks for certain Authority employees and other clouted state politicians.

Bottom line is we taxpayers are getting screwed here in Illinois worse than ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY!

===================================

April, 2011 ~

"Illinois has too many units of government, at least according to Illinois Sen. Terry Link, a Waukegan Democrat."

"Link is behind a plan that would eliminate or consolidate some of Illinois’ nearly 7,000 taxing authorities. Illinois leads the nation with the number of taxing bodies. Pennsylvania is No. 2 on that list with about 4,900 taxing districts, according to the U.S. Census Bureau."

“We’ve studied this to death, because Republicans and Democrats agree on one thing, we do have too many units of local government,” Link said.

"Taxing authorities include park districts, townships, counties and even mosquito abatement districts. The large number stems from a 19th century law that limited how much debt local governments could take on. That law has since changed, but the large number of taxing bodies has not."

The only creatures Quinn talked to were the connected contractors and union bosses who will benefit from this robbery of our tax money. Maybe these morons don't know there is a really serious recession/depression going on in this country. First the state income tax hike...Rahm's schhol tax hike... and now this bit of good news for drivers. It never ends in this state. No wonder we are broke!

Quinn IS truly a Madman, he should not be in politics, and is clinically insane. Illinois will go down in flames within 1 to 2 years if he is allowed to continue governing. This explains it in language anyone, even a Democrat can understand.

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some
exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the
lab, the Prof. noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept
rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student

told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while
fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke.

"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and
putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.

When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence.

They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you
have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side.

The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again.

You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the pigs have lost their freedom.

They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught.

Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it
that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America ... The government keeps pushing us toward
Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments
not to plant crops (CRP),welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we
continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.

One should always remember two truths:
1) There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone is paying for it

2) and when you begin to think that having your government provide for you and make your decisions is ok, realize that you've also given up
the freedom that goes with making your own choices.

If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America.

If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life. But God help you when the gate slams shut!

Thanks Again Democrats!
