Custodian Arrested?
Can anyone confirm a custodian in 014 was picked up with an active warrant and an Investigative Alert on file? Supposedly, he has around 40 arrests, too. Is anyone checking these people with access to everything in our stations?

come on now... every felon desirves a job in chicago...
Yes, having this custodian on staff is definately a problem. However, look at the crazy coppers that this city had hired. I remember working with someone in the 002 who was arrested for criminal sexual assualt. The victim was his own daughter. Tracy Ladner needs to be terminated for at once for hiring these thugs, her incompetance should not be tolerated.
See? THIS is why we need civilians taking over jobs traditionally and presently handled by sworn officers.
I mean, what could possibly go wrong with some clown with 40 arrests shuffling through sensitive paperwork and browsing LEADS and ICLEAR?
C'mon, man! It's not like someone of this caliber would ever think to finger through the district Rolodex, jotting down coppers' home addresses to pass to their gangbanger buddies, right?
They wouldn't dream of breaking into lockers to look for weapons, wallets and car keys, would they?
Sarcasm / OFF.
Seriously. There's a reason why most of these people are pushing brooms and scrubbing toilets. That being said, don't be foolish and underestimate their capabilities and thought processes; they undoubtedly pay attention to the daily routines and goings-on in our buildings.
Every last one of these Folks (and "People") need to be named checked and dope tested periodically as a condition of their continuing employment in police facilities. Anyone know what their existing policies are regarding these things?
40 arrest? This city worker at 014 has more arrest than the maniac who attacked the police officer behind Rahms house!
Civilianize these inside spots! There's no useful information in these police stations! Hell, we have bad apples in the ranks of the sworn and we have an oath we're supposed to uphold not to mention a good paycheck. Civilians will be just that, employees of the city with an I don't give a shit attitude and probably dozens of questionable friendships. But it's ok...
sounds like shoeshine guy in 009 around 2002.
Are any firearms missing from lockers? Oh, I forgot hiring convicted felons was one of Daley's pet projects. Several are working for various departments in the City. The original intent may have been to provide employment for his cronies and aldermen returning from prison. So maybe when your kid comes back from college with $100,000.00 in debt, he or she can commit a felony and get a City job.
Yes..
The word is that he thought Lieutenant D.H. was really a nice person and that got other coppers on the 3rd watch very suspicious.
When they ran him they found out he had a warrant for incest.
I think that’s how it all went down anyway.
What about all those civilians that have access to Department
computers. Most of them look like good street stops to me and they have access to everything.
He was arrested by the US Marshals on Milwaukee right near the station cleaning another building. At least all he took that we know of is the combination to enter the building. Wonder if the department will change that now.

$$$$$$$
Check the AFSCME contract.
You can pull it up in CLEAR.
No random drug tests for civilians.
It's pretty much hands off unless there is a real problem = criminal then you can arrest them!!!!!
This isn't new at all- they had a custodian at the old 023 Dist that had an active warrant! The guy had been there for months, maybe even years, before somebody caught it. Real nice having some criminal roam the locker rooms and station with free reign!
"Is anyone checking these people with access to everything in our stations?"
No.
there are serious breach's in security in almost every station and bosses do little or nothing about it. bums that car wash officers vehicles, people that sell jewelry, shoe shiners all of which sit and hang out in secure areas immediately next to evidence and processing rooms where money, jewelry and weapons are laid on tables and even some are allowed to enter locker rooms and bathrooms specifically for use by officers only.
If felons can be aldermen..felons can work in the Station. AND THEY DO>

They sure can!
They can run for Alderman.
Hey westside...when has custodial duties ever been held by police? Are you one of those guys who bashes civilians every chance you get? This was never a police spot.
So you guys are saying only police officers should scrub toilets and hose down the lockup?
Yeah...good luck with that one.
Cmon...
Its 014...every Illegal needs a city paycheck.
Bet Penny hired him.

Right....they would have to change it at all Districts then..
Its the same at all the buildings.
I was a TCA out of 18 & State before changing over to Revenue...and the back door code hasn't been changed since 2005...it was good last week when I needed to use the Head.
Hey 341 PM, reading is a skill, my friend. You really can't be that dumb, can you?
Why don't you go and read the original post again, this time is a nice quiet place free from distractions. The original post sarcastically, yet realistically, outlines what some of these civilian personnel wandering our buildings have access to and are capable of doing. Similar instances HAVE happened over the years.
A4 even had a custodian of some kind of Middle Eastern/Muslim lineage that was picked up by the Feds a few years ago for his participation in some kind of money laundering scheme (no subsequent information was ever learned whether he was or wasn't affiliated with 'terrorists'). Some of you may remember him - the janitor who'd arrive for work in newer Mercedes and BMWs. Nice to be able to drive cars like that when you make $8/hr., huh?
Might you be a merit supervisor, 341 PM? Because you totally missed the point, dumb-dumb.
Not all of them are bad, but they definitely let some of the criminal element in. Last year the midnight detective sergeant in Area Two locked up one of the building custodians after he caught him stealing money from their snack fund. That POS was stealing from the police so the sgt actually locked him up got him fired and hopefully convicted. I'm sure there are more out there walking through our locker rooms and raiding the snack cans all over the City. They must be politicians in training.

A person doesn't have to leave their home to find out the address to anyone they choose. There are free websites that will provide not only the address, but a color picture of the home.
Custodians are lazy anyway, I know because I am one. Get rid of their jobs all together and clean up after yourself. That's my suggestion to save city money!
Man I should be Rahms ASSistant.

hipiap talks a good game on the web but catch him in the field. Trail of piss and yelling for help into the nextel. Revenue Nazi!
Get with it --- the custodial staff at Districts were privatized years ago ... they are not city/ department employees. They have no computer access and there hadn't been a "district rolodex" in years.
