Interesting
Anyone have the time or inclination to research this?
- OT why would Cross from oswego be so interested in chicago pension reform, could there be a link between his law firms relation with Brigeview bank and that banks link to chicago politicians.
Mahoney, Silverman and Cross LLC in Joliet does a booming business with a litany of municipal entities, including Plainfield, Lockport, Aurora, Frankfort, Joliet among others. One would have to wonder what being a stalking horse for Rahm's pension grab could lead to.

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"
~ quote from "King Henry VI" by William Shakespeare
I think there are plenty of bottom feeding, scumbag lawyers out there who believe Rahm will run for President some day, and they want to kiss his ass now for that connection to the White House down the road.
Cross is going to be on Chicago Tonight thursday night. If you have questions or issues, contact channel 11 early in the day and voice your thoughts.
Me, I think Cross has aspirations, which Rahm took note of, then pounced on.
Whatever Rahm promised you, Mr. Cross, to steal the pensions of the working police, it isn't worth it. He won't follow through and he'll make you the fall guy. You've been used and you'll be thrown away, like wet tissue.
Here's that name Tom Cross again...heh-heh. You know.

Special Interests Giving to Politicians Ahead of Veto Session
[...]
Gambling interests gave $388,000 to candidates and officials in 2011, including $304,300 from racetracks, $68,516 from existing casinos, and $15,100 from other gambling interests. Top recipients include Chicago for Rahm Emanuel ($74,550), the Senate Democratic Victory Fund ($23,700), and Citizens to Elect Tom Cross ($23,050).

Sounds like a corrupt bunch of dickheads who should be put in cages and used for experiments. Why use poor animals when we have loads of selfish low life politicians to use. Just give these assholes a bag of Chuckie Cheese tokens and tell them its a bribe of gold coins. That will keep them busy and happy. The scientist are happy...the politicians are happy...and we are happy.
Interesting thought. Steve Landek, I believe, used to be president of Bridgeview Bank. He is presently mayor of Bridgeview AND state senator. After the controversial tax raise, Landek's senatorial predecessor named him personally before he resigned and AFTER he voted for the tax hike. Mike Madigan swore Landek in as senator with no objections from any in attendance. Madigan's words, in regards to Landek's appointment, were "All those for? All those opposed? Motion passed." Gavel drops. No pause to let anyone respond to the "motions."
*** sent this to cross 2 weeks ago, no response***
"The intent of the bill is to bring more accountability to the taxpayers in Chicago and Cook County. The bill places the responsibility of the boards in the hands of the Mayor of Chicago or the Cook County Board President, both of whom are elected by the taxpayers."
Mr. Cross,
First of all, I request that you verify the numbers before you make a comment like this. most of current monies in the police pension were contributed by the participants in these funds. I would like to know where you get your numbers. Was this the sales pitch Rahm gave you? I appreciate your intent to bring a debate on this important issue, but why, of all people, would you be the one introducing a bill that "brings accountability to tax payers" that YOU DO NOT represent?
I would like an explanation, if at all possible on why you felt this was your place to introduce it. I appreciate attention being brought to this issue of our pensions, as I know the system is broken, but it is in this situation, in part because our elected officials have chosen to kick the can down the road on their responsibilities. I put my life on the line every day I go out on that street to serve and protect the citizens of this City/County/ State and In the last 5 years alone, have lost 2 former partners, Thor Soderberg and Rick Francis, and have had 3 officers I have trained, Thomas Worthem, Eric Solorio and Alex Valadez killed in the line of duty, as well as 4 other trainees Shot in the performance of their duties... Can you say the same, can Rahm?
Please do the right thing, and don't give a single individual, the kind of power you are proposing by this legislation.
Respectfully,
I think that the FOP and the PBPA need to get in front of this Cross bill and mobilize. The Firefighters and the Teachers also need to get on board. We need to let Cross know that we will be out in Oswego working for his opponent in the next election and start throwing some dirt at him. He needs to spend more time getting jobs for the people in Oswego and worrying about what is going on in his district rather than worrying about the makeup of the pension boards. We all know the problem is the failure of the city to fund the pensions as required. This needs to be publicized. We CANNOT let Rahm get control of our pensions. If he does we will all be screwed.
Has anyone seen the new commercial about your pensions- the women answers the door with a child and the policemen is asking for 30 thousand dollars for his pension fund. and guess who paid for the commercial. Liz Cheney's group. the same group that took the pensions and collective bargaining from Ohio.
You guys are in trouble its over.
Contribute to his opponents
Political whores like Cross will sleep with anyone to get a head. Put some lipstick on Racoon Eyes and he is ready to do whatever to get at our pension money. Bottom feeders like Cross can be found all over the political landscape in Illinois.
I called Mr. Cross today and he returned my call. (815-254-0000) and he said this was all his idea to put all the funds together to be stronger, I told him fine, but why give the city a 4 to 3 adavantage on the board. Also I told him there is no question that the mayor will hi-jack the money for his use. Mr. Cross was a gentlemen on the phone and is meeting with "Mark Donahue" in the near future. My question is why Mark Donahue, is he a Springfield rep for our lodge?
How the fuck does this pass the ethics test?
Isn't there a state run department, like Ferguson in the city, that looks into obvious conflicts of interest like this?

to keep up to date on pension legislation
Actually, you folks are the fall guys. You gave your votes and accepted what the Dems fed you. Not making promised pension contributions-don't worry, we'll still vote for you. Maybe Cross is making sure that, if anyone gets left holding the bag, it isn't the rest of Illinois.

The Bible Belt and now even a lot of Jewish voters would never vote for this gonif scumbag.
I have a lot of Black neighbors who say that they are so sorry they voted for this asshole, and that is the word they used. (I didn't bring up Obama with them.)
Rahm's reputation as a bully will precede him everywhere he goes. If I were to hearqq he was going anywhere, I'd look up on-line newspapers in that town and find any story about his visit. Every major foreign city has an English newspaper. Then I'd write a commentary on how he is trying to kill us here and watch out for your wallets there.
Several years ago when I raised concerns regarding our pension; coppers would shout me down, saying that our pension "Was protected by the State Legislature." Well, where are those coppers now? I'd like to hear what those Daley voting, knee jerk Democrats have to say about our current situation. Rahm is using the tactic of having the Media make us look bad; and it is working.
. My question is why Mark Donahue, is he a Springfield rep for our lodge?

Hello. Check www.pbpa.org, www.cpdlts.com, Www.firstresponderpensionfact.com, www.chicagosergeants.org, www.facebook.com/firstresponderpensionfacts, and www.chicagofop.Org. You will see that the FOP and PBPA are on top of things. There is a rally planned for next Wednesday at noon in the Springfield Capitol building rotunda. You might want to attend and do you part too. It is your pension and if it is important to you you should see how you can help. For instance have you called either Rep. Cross or Rep. Senger to voice your objection, or are you waiting for everyone else to do your work for you.
Go to the rally. Call your legislator. The unions can only do just so much without your help. If this bill goes through it isnot for a lack of effort by the unions.
and why is darlene senger a co-sponsor of this bill, maybe the 40,250 (yes 40 grand) contribution by citizens to elect tom cross to her campaign fund makes her his puppet. check out followthemoney.org
The mayor will step on his little Dick, and someday !
