I stopped a car last year with one. I think they're awesome and a great way to beat the cameras.

I already invested in the spray and not because I drive like a jagoff but because I've seen cameras flash cars turning right with an arrow and just flashing for no reason. I highly recommend it. And I just might invest in one of these as well.

Since lying Rahm has repeatedly stated that the speed cams are for safety and not cash why not have them issue warning tickets?

Great idea. The Racoon will flip out when he thinks the public will try to outsmart him. This no good bastard has gone way over the line with this speed camera bullshit. I am hoping Gov. Quinn will veto this POS legislation. Why does this law ONLY apply to Chicago? Isn't the "safety of kids" important all over the state? Or maybe the rest of our creepy greedy politicians are waiting to see if Racoon Eyes gets away with fucking us before they get on board. If this camera shit becomes law I will put this device on my car. Fuck these greedy no good bastards!

This product will probably cost north of $50.

Hypothetically speaking, for 1/10th of that, one could buy a spray can of rubberized undercoating and make it a point to 'drive past' the speed cameras (under the cover of darkness is a good time) that might likely affect them.

Rubberized undercoating has a wider spray pattern (less time involved), sprays further (no ladder necessary) and is considerably harder to remove than your garden variety of spray paint (self explanatory). And, it will probably go unnoticed for quite some time before being fixed.

I'm just saying.

I love to see coppers advocating breaking the law. Is it a money grab? Sure. But you are supposed to represent the law, or did you forget that?

The best way to defeat them is to obey the law. When raccoon eyes doesn't realize his revenue, they'll go away. Or, here's a thought, vote him out of office. Get your Alderman to do his/her job. You know, do it the right way.

Everyone of these guys gets a ticket. If you are using it, don't be surprised if the new Inspectors gig you. No sympathy.

This goes too far. Imagine how this is going to tie up traffic. What is the cut off? Is it one mile per hour over or is it five? You could conceivably get multiple tickets on your way to work every day because you pass multiple schools AND parks on your way anywhere in the city. As it is now you don't even realize that you are speeding because you aren't going fast, how many of you actually do the speed limit in these zones? Try it and see just how slow it is. I'm not talking about doing 50 mph in a zone, I mean 30 mph and you are still speeding. Even without cameras if people actually did not go above the speed limit we will have gridlock everywhere. This is too much big brother, nanny state, money generating nonsense to put up with. I hope Quinn veto's this but somehow I think he won't and might even expand this after he see's how much cash this will generate. Who is going to get hit the worst? The working stiff, not the dredges of society that don't have a car registered to them or have the everlasting bogus temp tags. They even have the gall to say it won't count as a moving violation, how is this so? It's a speeding ticket. I predict a whole lot of people being late for work or very light in the wallet very soon.

Virtually the entire city can have these cameras due to the large square area of school zones. They say it's for safety, but just how many children have been injured by vehicle in school zones? Maybe zero. But how many children have been injured in school zones by gun fire? Maybe hundreds. So take more policemen off the street and replace them with revenue generating speed camera? Yeah, right, it's all about safety.

the photoblocker spray doesn't work. besides the lic plate flipper there is one other that works pretty well. it uses a really bright flash to obscure the plate. it has a sensor for the strobe on the traffic light cameras and then produces its own flash so all you can see of the plate is a white light.

Deep tint....Di-optic covers..spray...

The agency's test the cameras against all the products "designed' to beat them.

Radar and Laser detectors are the only items that can help.

And revenue is apparently now enforcing equipment checks under 9-64-160(a)(b)(c)(d)...I saw one ticket a car for the Mason Medallion that was on the License Plate.

My mother lives in the 024th Dist and is a 74 yrs old police widow. Her few prize possessions are her car and having her hair done. Although she lives in a condo on the North end off of Sheridan Rd she has received multiple parking tickets from Bt 2484, which I discovered is the footpost on Thorndale. Why is this goofball on the other side of a very busy place writing pimpy tickets for a clear plastic cover over her lic plate, and not watching over his area of responsibility? My father is rolling in his grave at morons like this, and you wonder why people hate you? I convinced her to take it and despite this she is still very pro-police.

I don't advocate speeding or red light running but these cameras are a FRAUD!!!. I've seen few links for products claiming to beat them in earlier comments, and I'd like to share a few more available out there. Check them out:

1. STEALTH license plate

2. STEALTH #2

3. THE GHOSTPLATE

I'd personally go for #2 and 3 since they're much faster and less "mechanical" than #1.

Are these cameras going to ticket the 20 mph school zone also?

As the Libune pointed, out over half the city is subject to cameras being installed.

I would write him for obstruction of plate and let him explain to the judge. I am sure the judge would be sympathetic to his story about painting the plate to avoid traffic cameras. I am in court either way and I enjoy the theatre.

No where else in this corruptified state are there over 400,000 little pukes going to schools..

The way I see it, you have to defend your money anyway possible by any and all means..

The politicians see an oppurtunity to extract the lifeblood out of taxpaying citiazens in every way, shape and form, so that they can hand over truckloads of money in their soicalistic fashion.

Its your job as an American, to avoid giving them that oppurtunity.
