Closing a Loophole

This was a long time coming:
  • It looks like the department has taken steps to make sure no one can pull up arrest reports of high profile individuals such as the case were 2 on-duty P.O.s from 023 were arrested.

Check out the new order revision:

    Special Order S06-01-11

    8. Confidential Arrest Classification

a.The designation of an arrest as confidential limits access to sensitive information within the CLEAR system to members of the rank of lieutenant and above. A confidential arrest status obstructs (shades out) the arrest record's sensitive information.
And we'll bet they have some sort of "key logger" program that will tell them exactly what people manage to access the report. If Lieutenant XYZ of 005 pulls an arrest report from Area 3, he better have an excuse ready to go because someone is going to be asking questions at some point - especially in a heater case and especially if it leaks out to the media.

Just another way to protect exempts and connected people.

Making it harder for the public to see what really is happening and to who

Yet again more protection for the clouted.

So now look for every incident involving a patrolman continued to be "leaked" to the media.

I hear that any Lt or above can call up an arrest report with all sensitive information intacted when they type in a special code.

That code being 9161.

Ya, its all legit.

Nothing will happen if this hypothetical Lt. is connected or feeding info to Frank and Fran.

Its about time the dept. got its head out of its ass in regards to this! Just think about it--any nosy SOB could look up your shit one day, be it an arrest or a police involved shooting, only for something to gossip about--wouldn't that stink for you! We are our own worst enemy's because we monday morning quarterback each other--We complain about the bosses not having our back but then we don't have each others either! Back each other up and Be Safe out there!

There will be no problem getting a report for the dog ass patrolman in hot water. Just the clouted will be protected. Like everything else in this sick fucking town. Remember the murderer Vanecko case. Files were "missing" and then suddenly were found. This no good prick is still on the loose in California. I can only hope there is a real Judgement Day and this little priviledge bastard gets his due.

Making it harder for the public to see what really is happening and to who

---------------

The public should have access to much of this stuff but mostly does not. I suspect largely because there is little in the way of classification of what could be public and what should not be, so by default it is all kept secret.

Not a cop.

Defeat this stupidity be marking everything confidential. If asked why say "celebrity status or related to politician". It will hinder us for a time but it should cause a minor uproar in a short period of time.

i was always led to believe that arrest reports, lawsuit info, and other types of documents are a matter of public record. Unless I was misinformed, if this is true, who cares if we read a case report or an arrest report. The disclaimer says that it cannot be used for anything other than law enforcement purposes. If I am law enforcement, can't I peek? Its in the clear system, can the surrounding suburbs that also use CLEAR view these reports ? Just axin.

Kind-a like having a university football coach catching another coach molesting little boys in the locker room. It gets reported, and the pedophile is protected and the incident is kept under wraps instead of being brought to justice because of clout.

Gotta protect that image, the illusion of these so-called great leaders ya know? Bury that paperwork baby. Put up those NO TRESPASS signs.

Nothing good will come out of this mark my words.

As a society we've let this kind of stuff go on for so long now I don't know why anyone should be surprised that thousands of students from well-to-do families are out turning over satellite news trucks demanding special breaks for the offenders. They obviously have grown up in an environment where similar things like this happen everyday -- special treatment because we have the clout.

The average Joe gets arrested and it's blasted all over the news in great detail... pictures, video, etc.. all to set a "Broken Windows" example I guess. Then we come along with special orders like this that makes a mockery of it all.

But what else is new right. We've made a mockery of banking regulations, mortgages, investment derivatives, the home foreclosure process, the courts, even the US Constitution.

Oh well...anyways..

Happy Veterans Day everyone. Go home and throw on a nice filet on the grill and have a cold one tomorrow is another day.

Can you really blame them? Police Officers are thier own worst enemy. Leaking shit to the media all the time, always talking too much, and always getting into shit they know they should leave alone. I stopped wondering a long time ago why Officers are never made aware of intelligence about terrorism [terrorists] and other things you would think we should know. We would fuck it up for sure.
