These are the super predators I was warned about when I was in the academy 13 years ago. I was told that when the generation that was born in the early 90's reached their teen years there would be an incredible spike in violence. The reason this age group was supposed to be so violent is because this is the group that was born addicted to crack cocaine. I unfortunately ride the cta on occasion and after reading all these stories about these group attacks on people I ride prepared. I carry a knife on me anytime I leave the house. A few times I've been on the train and noticed the assholes pacing back and forth,shooting me glances. I immediately move it to my jacket pocket in case I need to get to it quickly. Should the time come and I have to defend myself I'm going straight for the face and throat.It's a damn shame you have to carry a weapon just to feel safe in public. Chicago has turned into a complete shithole.

Buy a good semiautomatic rifle, at least a dozen mags, and at least 2000 rds of ammo. The way things are going, you will get the chance to use them. You don't want to be caught short. Get a Glock 9mm for back up.
If you are up for a bit more than this and are just starting out, consider getting one M4 (5.56) for 0-300yds, and something in 7.62 that can be scoped for distance. Remington 700PSS for a bolt gun or an AR-10 for semi-auto. I like semi for urban work, nice to have that 20 rd mag and the next round only a trigger pull away. Same design for the AR-15/M4 as the AR-10. You can use one you can use both. Both 5.56 and 7.62 are standard calibers, you can get more ammo from the NG if they're deployed and you run out. Couple of Glocks in 9mm for backup. 9mm also standard mil cartridge. I recommend the ACOG for the M-4 and a Leupy (Leupold) 3.5-10x for your long gun. Hard to do in Crook County but get some practice. Dry fire goes a long way towards building a skill set without traveling to the range or burning rounds. Get your gear all set up so it's ready to work.
I think most of us want to be dealing a little justice when the day comes. I know I do. Stay Safe.

However let's not stop at just demonizing the Link card holders as this is a wide spread systemic problem whereas the political apparatus wants to be in the position of controlling who the winners and losers are going to be in everything.
Moving up the social ladder we have tax breaks for the corporations. That's welfare. That's a handout on a silver platter. The money is being taken away from other obligations like pensions that city hall and/or the Governor signed onto.
The politicians want to pick and choose the winners. Huge handouts from the taxpayers going to multimillionaires via the tax system. The clouted ones.
The political apparatus will negotiate with the corporate terrorist paying extortion money -- using saving jobs as a tool when maybe that money could of been used to create new jobs with other companies that care about their communities. Instead they choose to keep the money all within their closed regenerative feed-back loop of tax breaks for campaign contributions in return.
The focus is on the money and not morality and social justice. We are not going to lock these people up. It will cost $146/day and worse case we can hand them $200/month on a Link card instead and use the crisis to instill fear into the citizens to win the hearts and minds for more taxes down the road.
How outraged can one really be watching this when internally we have CFD brass throwing down CPD officers near the river and our so-called proud leaders are silent.

I have little sympathy for vagrants, but I cannot quite bring myself to be OK with groups of thugs knocking them out for sport. I've seen, with my own eyes, a man lose his life after taking a punch (and subsequent head-knock on the concrete) not very different from what that old man endured.
As others have mentioned, the attacking shithed is thoroughly identified. He deleted his facebook page after getting bombed with comments from all over the world. If you want to see the facebook group set up to discuss the matter, google "Bring Scotty Mandingo Strahan To Justice".
The only issue now is identifying/locating the vic. Scotty shouldn't be sleeping well, as there's significant prison time looming in his future.

Those kids were hanging out at Chicago/Damen earlier in the night when this was filmed (saw the video on another site earlier in the week). They tried to pull some "hey what's up buddy" then follow and try to join the group thing. The kid who fist bumped the bum in the video was out doing the same thing to everyone walking down Chicago.

Give the media some credit because they did track down the offender in this case. They were at the yoots house and spoke with the parents. Momma seeze that her son "was going through a ruff time in his life" when he sucker punched the old man. Really. Hearing him and his friends laughing about what they had just done to old man tells a different story. How about if that was YOUR father getting knocked out on the platform lady? Huh? Say what? The CPD says it would have to find the victim in this case to press any charges. Poor old guy didn't do anything wrong and got punched out by one of his own. These little Bastards have no respect for anyone. Case in point the 15 year old asshole that just murdered his police Grandma and stuffed her in a sewer. I can only hope he gets reamed every day for the rest of his pathetic life!

Things have changed, IPRA would recommend termination for what you posted here. A slap will get you fired, didn't you see that sgt in 006 get arrested? Any brutality beef is no termination, if IPRA can't get you on that, every case they are making a rule 14. Officers, now, have no recourse. IPRA is trying to fire every cop and cheer when they do.

Not so. He did reinstate her, so to speak, and allowed the star to be on her blouse for the viewing, but the star will be retrieved just before they close the lid.

BS, IPRA would have NOTHING to do with a Rule 14. It would have to come from IAD not IPRA. I don't think that IAD can take away your 1st Amendment Rights either.
