Apple Picking in Evanston
- Three people on bicycles tried to rob a Northwestern University student while he was talking on his cell phone on the South Quad, according to a campus alert.
The student was behind Cahn Auditorium at about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday when three people approached on bicycles, officials said.
Two of the people tried to grab his cell phone, but the student was able to hold on to it and the robbers fled, officials said.
The student returned to his residence hall and alerted campus officials.
Police searched the area but the student could not positively identify anyone, officials said. The police gave vague descriptions of the suspects, all males.
This just screams "gender profiling." No wonder 94% of the prison population is made up of males.

I think you have it wrong. They were just trying to borrow the phone caise their obama phone only had 200 min on it and they used it the first day of the month calling congress to get more min!!!!
Evanston has gone to hell. There are very few "safe" places to live in the Chicago-land area these days. And those areas are surrounded by shit. How long before they get overrun? Its sad to see what this city has become. Chicago is going to make Detroit look like a nice place to live soon.

Former CPD who started with Northwestern Univ PD back in the 90's now retired and out of state. This is common place at NUPD the current Chief was the last Chief of UiC PD and completely Ball-less M/1 who is so our for himself it's sick.
