Rumors Abound

All sorts of stuff popping up:
  • A very reliable source has informed me that IPRA (formerly OPS) has been instructed to re-investigate closed CR#s especially targeting officers of retirement age. This is being done in an effort to suspend/terminate officers before they can dip their hands in the city's pension fund. Be very careful out the soon to be retirees, IPRA is watching.
This comes up every so often, the re-opening of old cases, especially with the seven year window so generously provided to the city by the old Nolan Team. We can't imagine any memory improving over the preceding seven years, but in most cases, the CR's are revisited in order to enhance charges against officers and provide another pretext for firing such as was done in the Mearday case where the third officer had an old case reopened and was fired even though he was RDO during the incident in question.

Then there's this from the CFD Captain story:
  • The reports of the officer that was attacked being severely injured are 100% true. He has a fracture of something or other. Just someone who was standing at the fax machine when it came through.
Now that everyone has had a chance to blow off steam, we'd remind all that a friendly rivalry between Police and Fire is no big deal. We've been assured by many Fire Fighters that they are as ashamed of Altman as we are pissed off about it. But McDoofus isn't going to say, "Boo!" about it, Hoff isn't allowed to say anything about it and Rahm could give a fuck - it works for him to have us at each others' throats. So until the officer files a complaint or the media starts asking some uncomfortable questions, don't expect anything to occur.

Why isn’t this feasible? That Officer with 20, 25, 29 years on the job costs the City the same amount as TWO newer officers. It’s not like they are hiring any new cops, so money saved there as well. Why not try to shitcan the old-timer, and do it before he can get his pension. For Raham, and the City, it’s a Win-Win-Win situation.

I have one question to ask all you firemen that were on scene, at any time did anyone offer the attacked police officer any medical treatment ?

At the point that the officer was slammed down the second time and laid on the ground holding his shoulder, did any of you pricks ask if he needed any fucking help? Maybe even a fucking bandaid? How about a neck brace like what you like to give to all the shitheads on the street when they play hurt.

And is it true ,that you were told to leave the scene immediately ? And by who?

All you guys talking shit about the officer, how about talking shit about the firemen and medics on scene that did not offer medical treatment, because they did not want to make waves with their capt and be on his bad side after midnight, boo fucking hoo..

But the problem is, it's been P.O's making all the ruckus. Not one cpd boss has stepped up to see that justice is served.

Shields has been great, but the union should make an official statement regarding their stance on violence against their officers.

Watch for major problems at police headquarters between the CPD and the CFD. CFD is already trying to flex its muscle. They put orange cones in the alleged fire lane so no one can even sit there while waiting for someone. They also are demanding 90 yes 90 parking spots for their people. They do want us to use our own gym anymore claiming it is on their side of the 2nd floor.

To actually want to take away something that someone has worked for for 20, 25, or 30 years and leave them with nothing because the powers that be just doesn't want to pay them what they have EARNED is pure evil. There will be a special place in Hell for you MFs.

While I profess to not exactly being friendly with most firemen, I had a lot of respect for Hoff, fighting the Mayor in his attempt to cut a man off the firetrucks.
But if Hoff doesn't take the bull by the horns and do something about this idiot CFD Capt. who attacked one of our own so shamelessly, then it's time WE put some pressure on Commissioner Hoff. If someone has his e-mail address, please publish it here. We should all start an e-mail campaign directed at Hoff to deal with this jagoff, and to do so asap. Make him undergo mandatory counseling, or if he has the time and age, retire the bastard, but something has
to be done to ensure none of us ever go through something like this at a joint emergency scene again.
This has to be dealt with, and Hoff should be the one to deal with it decisively. Anything else is just unacceptable.

I have been following this story the best I can. Sometimes, with all the "initials" like JM did this to PR and PR wants JM locked up.

But when the incident happened did any police on the scene help the officer? I know if I was there with my partner and some Captain with the fire department throws him to the ground, I gotta think that I am going to be in a fight with that captain. AND to top it off, he was thrown to the ground a 2nd time!!!!

Unacceptable, and shame on any officer that was there that Captain whatever his name is, didn't get to spend a few hours in the emergency room before being sent to the station to be locked up.

My 2 cents.

An individual's pension cannot be denied because of sustained or pending CR's. I am aware of several incidents were an accused member resigned when he realized that a C.R. was about to be sustained and the penalty recommended would be seperation and the first stop would be the Pension Board to file to collect the pension. This is normal in residency investigations.

An individual can only be denied a pension when he is convicted of a felony that is job related. Jon Burge is still receiving a pension because the Pension Board voted that his conviction was not job related and Eddie Hicks is still collecting his pension because he has not been convicted of anything.

A C.R can be reopened at any time if the individual in-charge of the investigative authority deems it appropriate. This happens rarely but can happen if additional information is brought to the attention of that individual that was not available when the initial inquiry was closed.

Fact: J.Smith was kneeling and attempting to render aid to two victims in the Chgo River when he was checked to the ground by CFD Capt Altman. He got up and was checked again. NO medical attention was given to P.O. Smith on the scene. The PFD(Personal Floatation Device) Arguement is bogus. PO.Smith out of uniform is false as you can see on WGN coverage of incident. It's none of the Capt.s concern what uniform we wear. That a CPD matter. As to concern for his safety. Where is the FOP with people who are stripped? There is a city ordinance which says when you are stripped by IPRA they are required to give you a status on your investigation every 6 months. Has anyone else heard of this? It was a new ordinance which came into effect when Illana took over IPRA. THis should be a hot topic and put out in front for FOP to tackle. There is a person that has been stripped for 7 years and the city is in total violation of this MCC ordinance.

But if all goes well the boss will be the one gaining the most. If all goes wrong the P.O. will be the one losing the most. You see, the boss is never in box 1.

All this while their C/O Buried his head in the sand and never even addressed his officers at roll call about the incident, just slipping out the back door.

That's typical for that LT, he has done that his whole career. He'll be a gold star soon enough.

Errol Davis has been JJ and JJJr's pet since his day one on the job. Another one, promoted way beyond his capabilities and smarts. And, yes, he will be a gold star, an incompetent one, but a gold star nonetheless, unless JJJr resigns. Then, who knows?

The officers from 014 who witnessed the incident were questioned by IAD last night.

That's because the fire capt in a attempt to save his own ass filed a CR number against the officer.

Yes, they look like they could be brothers. Same cheesy mustache.

They are probably drinking buddies.

The capt was notified to turn himself in. His lawyer is in negotiation with dicks for the right time, so look for it to be around 3-4 am Sunday . Low profile, and in and out of the lockup. no big hoopla.

In and out?? No, it will be aggravated battery to the police. If the copper has a fracture it will be upgraded. He gets there at 4am the arrest and sups have to get done then deal with the states attorney. Bus leaves at 5am for county. hopefully he has to sit at the station all day long. If he tries to do that crap and I was the detective I would drag my feet so he has to sit in the station all day and all night so he misses the bus and has to go tuesday moring instead.

-------------------------------------------------------

Hey,I agree. But it's only going to be a misdemeanor at this time. The officer will have to go after the upgrade for the first court appearance.

But as for the arrest it's going to be an in and out deal for the processing part.

So the lawyer will decide when and how the police can make an arrest. Boy, is this a pussy department now. Back in the day they would have a guard on him at the hospital as the nurses tried to intebate him. Mcfool is a New Jersey whimp. He dosen't have you back he's got your balls!

Even more rumors about the consolidation and closing of the Area's. Rumor has it that McGoofy wants to eliminate even more top command positions to save $$$. Not sure what he is thinking but look forward tot he announcement very soon that there will no longer be district commanders or watch commanders. The rank will be eliminated. Current D/C's will be given the title of XO and you will see a Sergeant as watch coordinator. The rank of Lieutenant will be phased out.

11/09/2011 06:00:00 PM
You are so full of it. Capts. will be XO's. Lts. will run the watch as watch coordinators. XO will be the assistant to the D/C. They are looking to eliminate captains at the watch level. Get your facts straight before you type. That is how stupid rumors start.

No wonder cops are so beloved by the public at large.

Who really cares how it is handled as long as it gets done eventually. it is not like the guy is going to flee the country or anything.

Not a cop.

Just another example of how fucked up our dept is.

hey citizens see how clout works.

the officer is a victim of a battery, while trying to save two people from drowning in the river.

And this clouted drunken fire capt has the nerve to file a complaint on the officer.

and the fucking nit wits at IAD actually took the complaint and are investigation the allegations, looking to fuck the copper.

"...IPRA has been instructed to re-investigate closed C/R#'s..."

Yeah... We've heard more than a little chirping in the background about IPRA opening up & re-investigating all shooting incidents by The Police...

BIG concern...

REALLY BIG CONCERN for those who have "multiple" (meaning one or more) "You" numbers affixed to their good names.

Supposedly IPRA gave/has given/is preparing to give those files to USDOJ... BHO's home-boy Holder is on record as placing priority on "going after" Policemen for violating the rights of catered to constituents/faithful democratic voters from large "urban" areas.

So...

Police put a righteous missile dead in Pookie's poot-pot as a curative for the stinkin' thinkin' that shitheads are prone to do.

Justified shoot... By Our Use of Force guidlines, department directives, state & federal law.

OPS/IPRA & CCSAO nodded in agreement at the Round Table...

"We are not considering filing criminal charges agasinst the involved officer..."

Now these muthafuckahs are trying to hurt & witch-hunt Policemen because they THINK there WAS a possibility that SOMEONE'S civil rights MAY have been violated?

O_o? Damn if these fools aren't selling crazy!

OK... We'll play along. FUCK YEAH AN IGNORANT MUTHAFUCKAH'S PERCEIVED RIGHT TO FREE & EASY HURT/PREY ON THE PUBLIC & THE POLICE WAS INFRINGED/CURTAILED/TERMINATED IN PERPETUITY BY MULTIPLE INJECTIONS OF HOT Cu JACKETED Pb SERVED IN 230GRAIN DOSES @ 1000 FEET PER SECOND!

What about the rights of Policemen being FORCED into a position of having to administer the above corrective measures?

What the fuck do these people THINK a Policeman worth the ink on their paper is going to DO when confronted thus?

For The REAL Policeman, adopting the liberal, yellow-pinky posture of submission in the face of a life or death situation IS NOT AN OPTION!

Muthafuckahs! SOMEBODY HAS DO DEAL WITH THIS SHIT and you assholes have the fuckin' GALL to judge in leisure way the fuck after the facts?

This city and country are lost and not because of a damned thing The Policeman did or didn't do.

The very citizenry itself bears total responsibility for failing to make hard-eyed and informed decisions and failing to exercise all due diligence.

...3 fingers of the barrel strength bourbon, neat.

The Dr. Pepper back-wash can wait...

Fuck 'em all if they can't take a joke... Protect yourselves at any and all cost Officers!

You guys & gals more precious than these fools in charge would ever admit and it kills the shit out of them just the same...

Crews were able to find and save a man who jumped into the Chicago River this evening.

The man jumped into the water near the Lake Shore Drive bridge over the Chicago River sometime around 6:30 p.m. Marine Unit divers were on the scene, and police were talking to witnesses who said a man jumped in the water there, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

The man was pulled out of the water about 7 p.m. and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, O'Brien said. The man, who was rescued by the Fire Department dive team, was in serious-to-critical condition when taken to the hospital, according to the Fire Department media office.

“It’s bona fide. A guy jumped in and one of our cars has two women who said the man jumped into the water,’’ according to a Near North District police sergeant.

The victim is the boyfriend of one of the women and it was not known why he jumped in, the sergeant said.

who was the cpd lt. who didn't do anything? He should have ordered the cfd capt. be arrested immediately. this is a sorry situation for ball-less cpd and a violent and arrogant cfd member who should be fired. was this guy drunk? even worse. who cares who daddy is/was, nothing like a drunk cfd capt on the scene of an emergency.

Sound like the CO on the scene was none other than Perry the Platypus. He's been on midnights forever and I once saw his mouth open with his head tilted back and a fly was going in and out like a three stooges clip.

Oh, he's very big on refusing to approve charges. Dresses like a yuppie fisherman when he attends staff meetings. A stellar boss.

Yeah, come on son..come work for the CPD..I'll show you how to keep your mouth shut and mind your own business.. It's okay to criticize the citizens when they don't want to speak up about wrong doing just don't be trying any of that "broken windows" krap internally that's all. This is one fine proud organization isn't it?

11/09/2011 03:24:00 PM

I wouldn't recommend that my kids or anyone for that matter work for this department. It's not worth it. If they just have to go into law enforcement...go somewhere else or go feds. Fuck this shyt!!
