Hester's House Burgled

Nice to know the neighbors are looking out...but we guess they're looking out for the thieving bastards who did this:
  • And the animals that prowl in her neighborhood, hit her house last night. Heard on Zone 9

Victimized in life and in death.

Does anyone have the funeral arrangements?

It used to be that a home of police officer that passed on was given a squad car duty for a few days. Out of respect and also to prevent exactly what happened. In case of a peon PO it was at the discretion of DC/WC. Obviously this is gone too.
Few months back an active PO died of illness.
New DC of 013 along with 1st watch LT allowed 1 officer to accompany funeral procession in a squad car as a tour of duty.We are helping others but not our own.
RIP Officer Scott.

There should have been a car on P.O. Scott's house. That said, his name was Officer Flisk, or Mike Flisk.

Show some respect.

Gee that's funny. When I called out how a certain exempt died of a heart attack a couple years ago and how his house in bridgeport had a marked car sitting outside of it for five days I was told that all police get that not just exempts especially ones from bridgeport. Well I guess that's not the case. And illustrates that even in death clout rules.

We have Capts, Lt. Etc that have never been the police. Of course they don't take care of our own, they don't have a fucking clue how to make a move without the cue from their clout. The legit ones that are left are leaving in droves. Soon the entire management staff of the CPD will have been meritoriously promoted. It is already true of 98 percent of our gold stars.

Why are you shocked?

The department does not care about you. Bosses do not care about you. They do not care about your family. They do not care if you die, they only care if you get in trouble and will tell on them.

You are all alone on this job. Save the brother in blue shit for the 5 or 6 guys you work closely with on a regular basis, but they're not "brothers" as much as they are friends.

All these surprised posts prove that many of you work for the department you wished you worked for, rather than the department you really do work for.

Every passing day I hate this city and the savages more and more.

Reading this thread I fought back tears. This poor woman was fucked by the city, fucked by her own family, fucked by the system, and now fucked by the savages.

I want to puke at the thought of rich jagoff politicians with cpd guarding them 24/7; but the district cant put a single car on this house at least until she was properly buried? Tho on 2nd thought the savage vultures would just lay in wait til the car was gone and feast on the house then. What the hell was I thinking!??!

May You Rest Peacefully Ms. Scott.

We had a guy that died in our district and we sent a car for a few days to his house. This guy lived in a nice, northwest side neighborhood. They should have extended this same courtesy to PO Hester. We are not following the traditions that matter.

I attended Hesters funeral today. Where was our Mayor or our Supertendent??? Or any higher up's??? There were some white shirts, but I did have the impression that they were there on there own. No Car assigned to her home....Poor Hester did not deserve any of this treatment from this department...while alive and yet even after her passing! But then again they should be holding their heads in shame. RIP my Friend, you deserved so much more.

I was one of the Officers that attended Officer Scott's Funeral today...Very Sad. One of Hester's family members (female) stood up and Thanked the Chicago Police Department for our service & protection, she was then given a micraphone and again Thanked us. I felt humbled and yet sad that our department did not help Hester! But Thank You Maam...that is what Hester would have wanted. Hester you are in a safe place now...an Angel watching over us. RIP

A car was assigned to Mike Flisks family because the acting commander in 9 at the time, Capt. J (Mike's sister works in 9) assigned one and when the commander came back he extended it for as long as the family wanted it. And the commander in 22 assigned one to Mikes house and family. Bosses who care about their officers.

Wasn't Hester's residence in 022? Why wasn't a
beat car assigned to sit on her home, at least until
after her funeral? Is the District Commander of
022 so caught up in bailing out and becoming the
new chief of the Tinley Park PD that he couldn't
care less about one of our own? What kind of a
Dept. have we devolved into? Can we appear to
be any more callous in the treatment of our own?
Rest in Peace, Mrs. Scott.

This story nauseates me. You mean nobody in that district could have implemented the age old practice of putting a car on the fallen officers house for a couple of days??
It's a damning indictment of the disgusting current state of this once proud department.

I wasn't there, but is it possible that a car was assigned to the house, and rolled on the shooting at Aldi's a couple blocks away? Do we always have to presume the worst about each other?

Flisk was a Line of duty Death, God Rest the soul of Scott, but hers was not . . . .when do we draw the line? Cant compare. Do we perpetually place a car on the house of every deceased officer? Bring back the detail unit so the do nothings can sit in a car and talk on their cell phones or text all day?

I work in 022. we have more requests for Special Attentions, Details, Funeral Escorts etc. then we have officers to handle them. Gang funerals? We get those. Funeral Processions to Cemetaries? We get those. How about an Armed Security guard getting shot to death 2 blocks from the Scott residence at Aldi's? We get those too. The only thing we dont get is enough Officers to handle all this without endangering the lives of our Officers.

if a car wasn't assigned, someone should have taken it upon themselves or taken turns sitting in front. go on a street stop, ts, or personal... do something, maybe even pdt the zone and inform them that you're doing that b/c the bosses didn't assign anyone. maybe even go into the w/c office and say, "hey boss, looks like they forgot to assign a car to guard the house, i'll gladly volunteer for that for the murdered officer."

Mayor Rahm, has his daughter driven in an unmarked police vehicle with a Police Officer making D-3, Sgt. pay all alone from the Northside Ravenswood neighborhood, to the Southside in Hyde Park, to go to a fancy school on a Saturday morning on the taxpayer dime no less!

Yet, this dumbass city and it's bosses can't put a wrongly accused, who was killed by their accuser Police Officer Scott, a squad car in front of her house so that it won't be burglarized during her funeral and wake!

This City is just run by "stupid asshole bosses" and have no respect from me!

FUCK YOU!!! Mayor RAHM AND SUPT. Mc Stupid, Mc Carthy!

You both have the power to do something and yet you clowns did nothing!

Shame on both of you!

Howw many police officers die in a given week?? Are we supposed to put a car on every house when a police officer dies?
Line of duty death---absolutely. Special Attention for the rest is appropriate.
P.S. The 28 yr old son told the officers that he was going to stay there, but changed his mind after everyone left. That's the real reason no guard was on there. First paragraph contains my personal opinion.
