Pissing Away Money

So how much does it cost Chicago to fight against a Constitutionally guaranteed Right to Keep and Bear Arms?

Here's a start:

That's a check from the City of Chicago made out to the Second Amendment Foundation in the amount of $399,950. Let's spell that out:
  • Three hundred ninety nine THOUSAND, nine hundred fifty bucks - fifty dollars short of an even four hundred G's
We're told the amount was as high as it was because the judge felt the Chicago lawyers were purposefully prolonging the proceedings in an effort to increase the plaintiffs legal fees.

And what was Chicago's budget deficit this year? No wonder Rahm needs speed cameras.

As a taxpayer, a big "fuck you" to Rahm and his predecessor for costing (and continuing to cost) Chicagoans what will undoubtedly be millions of dollars when all is said and done.

But as a supporter and member of the Second Amendment Foundation, a big thank you to Rahm for the nice check. We'll try to make sure it's spent wisely.

Of course, Alan Gottlieb, President of CCRKBA and SAF, is a convicted felon. "...he told a reporter that "All I have to do is turn the spigot on and the money just flows."

Better read this LARGE expose -- the gun groups are just a small part of his empire.

...before you get your panties in a bunch:

That is just one check to ONE of the parties involved. And I believe that nearly $400K check is one of the smaller ones that will be written and dispersed.

I believe that when all the checks are written to all the involved parties, the final countdown of dollars will be well into 7 figures.....and those are all on the left side of the decimal place. The NRA will be getting a REAL big one.

Then get your panties in a bunch.

It seems that there is absolutely nothing that Shortshanks didn't touch that is not leaving a stench on the city.

..and Thanx SSC: You gave me my new screensaver picture!!!

Hopefully the City will cut the big check to the NRA in time for it to be displayed at its convention in April in St. Louis, Mo.

Our corrupt politicians could care less what they spend to furthur their anti-gun agenda. It isn't their money. The money is ours. As long as we remain silent and let these fucks do what they want then this shit will go on and on. Where is the tiping point? When do we as taxpayers say enough is enough. Here we are trying to keep our heads above water, our houses are already under water, and all these fucking mindless politicians can do is find new ways to tax the shit out of us. Doubling the tolls on our highways, allowing this bastard Racoon to fuck us with speed cameras when the vast mojority of us don't want them. The list goes on and on. Time to put these no good priviledged corrupt politicians in their place.

Much more to come..

Illinois is still playing games interpreting the US Constitutions right to bear arms as meaning only inside your home and you give up the right to carry a loaded weapon outside your home.

Then there's the recording police in public eavesdropping law about to go down.

The entire system is out of whack.

O.T. from the MSN Money page.

If you live in Illinois, we have some good news for you. You no longer live in the absolute-worst state in which to retire. The bad news? You live in the second-worst state, according to research released recently by TopRetirements.com. Connecticut now has the dubious honor of being the worst state to spend your golden years, according to John Brady, the president of TopRetirements.com

Oak Park is the only other municipality to join in that lawsuit with Chicago, and of course they lost. Therefore Oak Park together with Chicago are liable for the legal fees of the plaintiff. And again, of course, Chicago is leaving Oak Park out to dry and pay their own level bills. The legal bill in Oak Park is an unfunded liability, Oak Park does not have the money and no $$ help will be forthcoming from Chicago.

Look for a bond issue from Oak Park to pay off this mistake.

Already a gun store has opened up in Oak Park. They will have to sell lot's of guns so Oak Park can collect taxes enough to pay the legal bill racked up trying to prevent people from exercising their rights.

Thats just what was payed to that fund. I wonder what the lawyers representing the city got payed by "shortshanks" to lose the case?

I would bet that it cost at least 1.5 million to fight that losing cause aftyer paying all the bills for BOTH side.

Gov. Quinn stated today that he plans to cut nearly $2 Billion from Medicare this coming year. He also stated that changes to pensions are coming next. Hold on to your wallets folks.

So not only is the City having to pay the legal expenses of the other parties in the gun rights lawsuit, (heard that when all the groups get all their bills together the total will be around SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS!!!!

Plus who knows how much the City spent on fighting its position. Or who got that money.

...sigh....if only we had some investigative journalists in this city.....heck, the MSM didn't even publish this news item. If not for SCC, no one would have known.

Changes to the pensions should be coming but only to the ones like the downstate teachers who make no employee contributions. We get lumped up into those debates although we pay 9% of our salaries
