Anita Declines to Charge Again

  • Charge ’em: Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, a mega Blackhawks fan, bumped into irate Hawks boosters after the game Tuesday at the United Center who jokingly asked her to consider battery charges against Phoenix Coyotes’ bad boy Raffi Torres for his cheap shoulder-to-the-chin shot to Blackhawks player Marian Hossa.

Alvarez declined, citing the continuing investigation and the demands by her subordinates to interview 20,000 witnesses and gather written/videotaped statements from all of them, including the ones in the bathroom or in line for beer.

Torres continued to deny any wrong doing and Alvarez stated the lack of an actual confession was hampering prosecution efforts along with an actual absence of DNA evidence of contact between the parties.

And speaking of the Blackhawks, Shaved has a post up about a certain exempt individual with a propensity for imbibing in frosty beverages and spouting off inappropriately. Anyone have any real info on that?

YOU have that same info, SCC. Someone posted yesterday as an 'off topic' about McFullOfHimself acting the fool at - or was it after - the game.

After all, he apparently does know everything about everything.

Probably true, hossa's ambulance got a police escort to hospital. Check tapes to see who requested it

Its a shame that Pallohusky got caught stealing from the sgts union as early as he did. Can you imagine the time he and McCarthy could have together in Vegas?

The Superintendent of police had exchange words with the Hockey Villian Raffi Torres. What was said is unknown but Torres put his hockey stick in the Police Supts.face with the Supt.backing off.Smart move,Torres hurt one person already. The beer musceles were starting to show. True Facts from people who worked the game and had to step in before he got his ass kicked.

After last nights game all of this will just wither in the wind. The Hawks have played some good close games but getting that final puck in the net is all that counts. Baseball looks like another shit year in Chicago so the Bulls will be our only hope of getting a title.

LET THE COVER-UP BEGIN!

McWhiskeyshits went to that old pantyless hack sneed to plant a diversionary story in the scum-times...

Well... It smells like a diversion anyway.

Smoke leads to fire as far as allegations of McWhiskeyshits went yapping after Torres and Torres made a move to beat that ass and McWhiskeyshits was "saved by the bell?"

Heh... Torres should raise a stink.

Fuck the phone calls (and you KNOW CALLS HAVE ALREADY BEEN MADE) from McWhiskeyshit's people & City Hall trying to "smooth over a misunderstanding."

If this were a regular copper, he would be lynched from the statue in front of the United Center on an unfounded rumor he gave Torres the shit-eye and that old frustrated, wizened-assed crone with the inch deep crows feet sneed, would be clacking her rotten dentures like castanets at a weekend tango convention about it.

Chicago! Fine wine rendered into piss and good bread into shit with a cackle and wave of a crooked missing one third a digit hand...

In the rag Times today McCarthy tells Snead that the hit that Raffi Torres put on Marian Hossa was "borderline criminal." Isn't it also borderline criminal to put cops on walking beats in the middle of the jungle where they are subject to attack by any of the wild animals?

Yeah, I remember her being at all the games from 99 - 05...... Not! I'm sure she's been a "mega fan" EVER SINCE they drafted Patrick Kane!

Heard a rumor that the sup who was seated 3 rows behind bench was dropping f bombs like crazy. United center supervisor had to talk to his detail to tell him to act professional. Coyotes were complaining about him

Why can't the politicians and the police supt. keep their mouths shut. As a Hawk fan, hello born in Chicago, who does this New Yorker think he is voicing any opinion on our hockey team. Worry about your own house. Off topic, will he be at Battle of the Badges showing us how to fight too??

The supt sure knew how to get Sneed on the horn real fkg quick to put his spin on the story. Tried covering all the bases - he paid handsomely for his tickets, he witnessed a borderline criminal act, the Hawks are his favorite team, blah blah blah. Nice recovery Ger, but we ain't buying it.

OFF TOPIC (and so it begins):
"A man charged with a hate crime in Oak Park this week told police he was so upset about the Trayvon Martin case that he beat up a man because he was white, authorities said."

It is true that hockey is just a game
but violence is not part of the game.
As the parent of a son who has played
hockey his entire life including at the college level, the game is about speed, skill, finesse and teamwork. You do have to be physical while playing and contact is inevitable but being a goon is not.

that was a dirty cheap shot by that thug torres who is a repeat offender--- hossa is all right though--- hbo ran a documentary last year about the philadelphia flyers in the 70's--- no helmets, porkchop sideburns, and blood all over the place--- if you compare hockey now to back then the sport has really cleaned itself up--- a previous poster commented on how hockey is about skill, finesse, and teamwork, very true--- but it is a contact sport and people are going to get hurt--- torres should get a big suspension because what he did to hossa should be unacceptable--- skating at full stride delivering a hit to the head while his feet were off the ice against a player who was no longer playing the puck, just brutal....

The Broad Street Bullies? Bobby Clark, Bernie Parent, Lou Angotti, Rick MacLeish...oops, I just dated myself. But the Flyers WERE horribly vicious back then. Clarke was especially dirty, if I am recalling correctly.
