Not Surprising
Since helping Mayor Rahm Emanuel turn back an effort to remove him from the 2011 mayoral ballot, Chicago lawyer Mike Kasper has seen his lobbying business boom at City Hall, records show.
Kasper successfully beat back arguments that Emanuel didn’t meet the city’s residency requirement, allowing him to run for mayor.
Kasper has since seen a sharp increase in the number of clients hiring his firm to lobby City Hall and also in the amount of money that business brings in, according to disclosure reports that City Hall requires lobbyists to file.

Are You Really Suprised ????
This is the shitcago way.
I wish I could comment on this, but because I am a police officer I am not allowed to comment on this.
Nothing new here. Our crooked politicians know where to parcel out those contracts. The Chicago Way. New faces and same old game.
OT: Another Social Security benefit that as police officers, we cannot take full advantage of:

Just another reason to protect our pension!
WTF ???
Just like his boss, I guess.
How's the Daley cover up going, Rahm ?
Is this guy Kasper STILL our pension board lobbyist?
Will anyone ever come out with hard evidence that Daley was a filthy scumbag on the take? I. So sick of "the chicago way" when it comes to crooked government. They should all be locked up with Blago
Why havent the citizens run all these politicians out on a rail? Could Representative Walsh be right about the government's plan to make every shit head dependent upon government? I think he may be telling the truth!
Add up the numbers paid to these lobby companies. Why are they paid millions for this service? Sounds like corruption to me. The process should be transparent. Rahm promised this.
Appears that more than the SCC readership thought that particular case would be decided the other way
Have you guys done the City of Chicago Ethics Training yet? It is a great guide of what you can do if you are someone on the 'in' but will get you fired or put in jail if you're not. Bonus, you get a nice little diploma.
Was this question ever answered:
Mr. Emanuel, during the years you were employed by the United States Gevernment and served on the staff of the White House did you file Illinois Income Taxes on a timely basis as required by law?
I in no way like this ( fill in the blank ) but that would put that question to rest once and for all.
And I thought the little asshole said it wasn't going to be business as usual....

Walsh said what everyone was thinking...i hope he gets re-elected...I think we should all stand up and applaud him....best thing that has come out of a politicians mouth in years!!!

Kasper is the Pension Board Lobbyist. The only reason he is not the FOP lobbyist too, is because when Shields asked, Kasper turned Shields down!
Are you scared yet?
Rham says,so what,if you don't like it FUCK YOU.

Dec 12, 2010 Chicago Tribune (excerpt)
"In his original 2009 Illinois tax return, Emanuel checked the box "part-year resident" and noted he lived in Chicago through June 30, 2009. The amended return is dated Nov. 24 of this year, the same day the first formal objections against Emanuel were filed with city elections officials.
In addition, on the amended return Emanuel listed the Milwaukee Avenue address of the condominium where he currently resides — not the Ravenswood home his family owns that is occupied by a renter who declined to end his lease early when Emanuel returned from Washington.
Emanuel explains in the tax form that he and his wife continued to pay Illinois taxes last year and that the "amended return makes clear that we were full-year residents of Illinois in 2009 and it reports all of our income." Emanuel corrected his return, which was filed by his accountant, after he "became aware of the mistake," Ben LaBolt, the campaign's spokesman, said Sunday."
Stop the press, no way!!!
