So thank you NBC for being part of the problem, promoting gang culture over that of actual civilized society. And thanks for some goddamn awful reporting where you call the symbolism "gangster disciple" in nature when your own embedded links from the spring identify it as "maniac latin disciple." Your fact checking sucks as bad as your alleged "reporting." Our readers did far more research and linking to gang websites than you idiots did.

Anyone who knew the MLDs in the 80's, when little Louie was running for Alderman, also heard from them about how Louie was their guy. I used to sometimes stare at my star and remind myself of the oath I took. To serve the people. I remember after my civil suit, when I was found not liable, I thanked my mom for instilling such good morals on me that reflected on that oath I took. I remember being a "cop" and doing what was just, for those that could not help themselves. That's all gone now. Now I'm just worried about my kids having life insurance and being able to provide. God only knows, I've made my mistakes and paid for them but this is insane. I work a rapid in 008 and I can honestly say this is the worst I have seen this job in my 10yrs. Dan I'd work a car with you any day of the week in 008. Recently it's come to a pass . Chicago police did a great job at NATO. But it's not enough, we ate sick of the lawsuits and bullshit CRs, IPRA needs to go. They want to fire every cop, for every little incident. So it's like I say at a pass. Police officers are done, I see it, officers are demoralized no hope of units, promotion, or not being sued. We did our part. We need help. Immunity from lawsuits & IPRA disbanded, & while we are at it no more chase policy. God bless you all, no one gives a fuck & I don't blame em.

First of all, his "artwork" was lame and pathetic. Especially when you compare it to some of the other stuff on the wall, most of which is quite good.
As for being an architect: Good luck. Not saying that it can't be done. But Herbie you had better get your butt out of that special school by studying your ass off.
Architecture is one of the toughest college courses of study. Most who know say it is tougher than engineering. Lots of art and math. Building not only has to look good, but be strong and useful.
..and I doubt that your gangbanger buddies will be able to help you with the coursework.

Officer Terrence Loftus was shot and killed when he attempted to intervene in a dispute between two rival gangs.
Officer Loftus was on his way home when he observed a gang fight. A group of gang members were chasing the rival gang member at the corner of Fullerton Avenue and Central Park Avenue. Officer Loftus exited his patrol car and attempted to stop the altercation.
Many members of the rival gang were having a party in a club across the street and when they saw what was happening they all came out of the club. One of them fired a shot that struck Officer Loftus in the spine. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds two days later.
The suspect was apprehended and convicted. He was sentenced to life in prison.
Officer Loftus was a 15 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department.

Hiring and advancement are all about talent and presentation, and somewhat about business (not gang) connections. There's been little female or minority advancement here in the Chicago architectural community.

ACTUALLY, it was worse than that. Terry, while off duty, simply stopped to talk with a couple of uniformed officers in the street, when he was ambushed for no reason at all. That coward gangbanger shot at the policemen from behind a parked car. Just sniping at the Police, period. And so he ended the life of a great policeman. BUT, it took another coward, a politician, to disrespect all Police Officers by promoting an easier life for that Police killer.

Can you guys just stay on his little ass, pinch him whenever he fucks up, drop dimes the City Press whenever you do, etc. his life will never be the same.
I'm a Chicago fireman and my son also drew a picture for the contest, depicting a policeman with a German Shepperd, a fireman with a Dalmatian, and the star of life separating them. It was an excellent drawing which received no attention due to the abortion that this kid drew. My son was honored to ACTUALLY win the are contest in our congressional district and actually sat next to this little gang banger during pictures, where he was flashing signs the whole time. It was a travesty to see this drawing hanging in the Cannon tunnel next to so many drawings by very talented teens. But we could thank that little rat bastard Luis for that.
I saw the symbolism right away and I haven't seen something that blatant since the marker taggings in the boy's washroom in high school (CPS of course).
I got more education in high school from just seeing it and being in classes with gang bangers then the "reporter" who wrote the article.
But should we expect anything more (or less in this case)?
