No Hits, No Runs, No Errors

Shooting with no injuries:
  • A Chicago police officer fired on a gunman who fired shots into a crowd of people in the West Englewood neighborhood on the city's South Side, authorities said this morning.

No one was struck by the gunfire during the brief shootout that occurred in the 7000 block of South Hermitage Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

An Englewood District officer standing on the block spotted the shooter firing a handgun into a group of people standing nearby, police said.

The shots sent the crowd scattering for cover, though at least one man pulled a handgun and returned fire at the gunman, according to authorities.

So at least three weapons being fired, but no one caught a bullet.

Nineteen-Paul - we wouldn't want anyone to think that Chicago generally, and Englewood specifically, was dangerous.

Whenever I come upon a situation like that, I always ask myself "How would J-FLED handle it?"

GOTTA RUN!

This is one of those moments in Chicago History, when you have to ask: WTF? Have we lost our minds, accepting this as normal? Just consider this situation, mothers, children youths in a public area, police on the block in sight and someone shoots into the crowd! Then someone in the crowd returns fire. 1. Regulation of gun ownership and restriction of right to carry obviously is not working in Chicago. 2. There is no longer a fear of the law. It is possible that someone could have died, yet this shooter did not care. There is no threat of a death penalty or serious punishment. IT SEEMS THAT THE ONLY FEAR IS IN THE LAW ABIDING CITIZENS; WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO TOLERATE THIS STANDARD OF LIVING? PARTS OF CHICAGO ARE LIKE SOME SORT THIRD WORLD HELLHOLE! WHERE ARE THE RACE PIMPS REVENDS? WHERE ARE THE HOPE AND CHANGE POLCIES OF THE ANNOINTED ONE? I worked those areas, and feel for every kid who has to grow up in that environment.

This is an example of why we don't need police. A guy in the crowd returned fire. See, community policing.

rahm should call cease fire in and find out have they talked to these law breakers. i mean if you give a group 1 mil, you expect results. something tells me that was only a down payment. even the bow-tie brothers havent done much good. one thing the law breakers know is rahm wont hire more police. he replaces retirees, but not more numbers. he got a 18 million grant for bike trails, did he put any in englewood?

I guess conceal and carry is working well in Englewood! Seriously! Had the person in the crowd not returned fire (hilarious that is just brushed over) who knows...perhaps the original gunman is more accurate or sticks around to finish the job! Even Englewoodians are exercising their Constitutional rights!!!

But at least someone tried to help or knew they were the target. Kill or be killed. It's the wild wild west ladies and gentleman. Yehaaw! No one cares if the police is around.

"The man, Terrell Joshua, 28, suffered gunshot wounds to his body and wasn't responding to police."

Is that anything like Detroit's new "temporary critical condition?"

We are losing the language -- and the people who think this stuff up get a big salary, too.
