NHL Lockout

Well this sucks for Blackhawks' Fans:
  • Unable to figure out a way to divvy up revenue in a sport that produced $3.3 billion last season, the NHL has undergone a lockout.

There were no negotiations between the league and the players' union Saturday and when the clock struck 11 p.m., the current collective bargaining agreement expired and the owners' lockout of players commenced.
This makes it doubly important for the Bears to step it up, because we get bored quickly if they suck.

Players are EMPLOYEES, you don't like the pay? Quit, start your own company if you think it's so easy, or STFU and get back to work.

The Blackhawks stink anyway. They should have kept Byfuglien and traded drunken Kaner for some stars who want to win. He's content with one Cup anyway.

The owners raised the price of tickets and then they want the players to take a pay cut.

Rahm must have talked to them.

Once again, it's the un-educated, casual, bandwagon "hockey fan" that thinks he knows it all. This is same douchebag who goes to UC, gets hammered, knows nothing of the game, yells for a fight everytime there is a hit, and gets up and walks in/out during the play. The 300 level at the UC is Wrigley West.

It's not just about the players. It's the owners " locking out" the players over money. Salary caps, revenue sharing and contracts are all being debated. Go to the South Side and become a baseball fan. The Sox are in first. Try that bandwagon.

This is a sport with a small fan base to begin with anyway. Going on strike just shrinks that even more. If they didnt play ever again most wouldnt notice anyway.

ot. but just wanted to give a shout out to our Union for representing at the rally held by the c.t.u. at union park.

You can not imagine the magnitude this was for our brothers and sisters of the c.t.u. I even spoke with a few teachers last week who kept commenting on how appreciative they were of the fire dept. and the police dept for giving them support and that when our turn came up, they would be there in their red shirts just to show racoon eyes that we are a city of united unions and we stand together.. thank you f.o.p. you did us proud and ,,,, well, we're up next, so take note , stand tough with the mayor and lets get ready to rummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmbleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!!

You are an idiot. The 300's are for actual hockey fans who enjoy the game and understand how plays develop.

Your moronic sox comment shows how dumb you really are. A playoff contender still can't sell the dumpy cell out (or whatever you 2005 idiots calli now). Jump on the bandwagon all you want but no one is following. The sox are a boring team to watch and the few real sox fans that exist are inbreds.

The only thing you can say to cubs fans is 2005, good one. Go back to moms basement and feed your cats.

Unless they are playing Waterloo, Green Bay, Lincoln or Omaha I wouldn't waste my time. Go to an Icehogs or Wolves Game

Well, Canaryville ranger, when was the last time you were in the 300 level? As a season ticket holder up there since 98, we have seen it go from the 90's decline, to the abyss of the Mike Smith/Alpo Sohonen regime and pre-lockout purge, to the 5,000 attendance figures, to the resurgence. Do you know what I've seen? Since the 08-09 season, a steady increase of twenty something drunken, bandwagon jumping, clueless people who are at a hockey game because it's trendy. Just like at Wrigley. I liked it better when the place was empty. No hockey ettiquette, no hockey knowledge, no clue whatsoever. The 300 level used to be for true hockey fans. Now it's Wrigley West. Somewhere else for the losers to go and get drunk.
