Sending the clouted ones to Charlotte may actually make sense. It will help introduce them to the Democratic "culture" so they'll be a little more realistic when the rioting starts after Obama is defeated.

Is it true that if something is posted in the CO book with openings you can't just write your name down? You have to get permission from your district station supervisor first. So someone with less seniority can go on a detail or training over you.

Charlotte sent about 100 officers to Chicago to "observe how the local police interact with the media". Hardly a reciprocal agreement of manpower.
Oh and Tampa Police sent "observers" as well.
NO OFFICERS SENT TO RNC, and there was basically NO reporting on the RNC from the local media... For the last 2 days, the dnc has been on cltv non stop, and it has not even started yet... the Rahm controlled media of chicago

Read the contract...All-day details go by seniority. Exception is PPO's on training cycles can't go and PPO's not on training cycles can't go IF the detail requires them to have a squad car. PPO's cant be in a car alone.
Training is up to the W/C. Details that don't last all day don't have to go by seniority. (Like an hour or so watching an entrance ramp when the prez comes to town)
We are sending 50 officers to the DNC so they can be visible and the communist mayor of chicago and the pretender in chief can brag about Shitcago, and the low crime rate at "Death Valley by the Lake".

I will be curious on how the lib Trib is going to glorify the Democratic convention. They did their typical biased reporting on the GOP convention, basically writing an article that would resemble one you would read in some satirical paper. It was all negative blab you would read in a high school newspaper. pathetic.
Would also be curious if the mainstream media will cover all the protestors or will that be swept under the rug. Will it be covered on all the tv channels (2,5,7) or just on CNN and Fox cable like the GOP. I'm betting when Obama speaks his speech will pre-empt all channels. Stay tuned.

Second, our MFF is trained to handle these situations and is the most battle tested in the nation. Also, why would we send officers who didnt volunteer for this training to defend our own city when it needed it. Now you expect to be sent to another city based on senority? Third, we all dropped slips to come here. No code 49s here. And lastly, we are working our asses off down here with hours on our feet that make me flash back to my days on loop traffic. And tell the union to shut the hell up about this detail. They are supposed to be about creating oppurtunities for us not ruining them. Otherwise ill see all of you next week when we will be back to help with all the havoc caused by the school strike. Oh, and alot of us here have no clout and got this because of the training we volunteered for

WGN TV reported last night that the 50C CPD officers are being paid by the DNC, they also said these officers would be on vacation anyway if they were in Chicago and the CPD has a full compliment of officers to handle the day to day operations in Chicago!!! oh yea??? How about hiring about 1500 cops? Also Jesse Jackson is at the "Obama dog and pony show" Jackson will not get a seat at the BIG TABLE but he is there, They bring him out to pander to the blacks in Chicago, kiss his ass then the day after the election they tell him to "Go home and get his shine box" and go back to shakin down who ever will stand for it.
