Speed Camera Snag

This is hilarious (Tribune link, but not behind their firewall yet):
  • A quirk in Illinois traffic laws has complicated Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to pepper the city with speed cameras and slowed down bidding on a multimillion-dollar system scheduled to begin issuing $100 tickets by early next year.

The problem: a 38-year-old opinion by the Illinois attorney general that says children must be "visibly present" before school zone speed limits can be enforced.

What that means is those robotic safety-zone cameras must not only capture high-definition images of speeding cars and their license plates, they also must seek out and photograph a child as much as a football field's distance away — preferably in the same shot.

So either they're going to need multiple cameras or a giant pan-and-scan shot that gets some sort of panoramic view?

Well, since it's all for the children anyway....

This entire episode is revealing everything that comes out of Rahm's mouth as a lie and its always and will ever be about the $$$$$, not the kids.

They have speed bumps by all the schools, you really can't go over 25 (I know, the limit is 20) near a school. Kids are not being run over, those cameras are only about money. I have been exploring new routes to get places to avoid the coming cameras.

I can help with that loophole! I propose a new flower boxes and median dividers with scarecrow plastic pop-ups of children. When camera takes the picture of the speeding car, the wired mechanism will deploy the "much needed" children for the Kodak moment.
For the bad neighborhoods I suggest more permanent decoys made out of reinforced concrete since anything in the hood does not last long. Seems like rust has fierce competition in those parts of the city when it comes to taking things apart.

Interesting to note that the state law allowing the Raccoon to pick our pockets only applies to Crook County...Chicago. No doubt this law would never have passed statewide. Just shows how our conniving mayor seeks to lie and cheat for what he wants. Anywhere in Illinois you must slow down to the appropriate speed in a school zone WHEN YOU SEE CHILDREN PRESENT. None of the connected vulture camera pirates want this contract now that they will have to spend more money to make it work per state law. Too fucking bad Evil One! Enjoy that shit sandwich!

Doesn't matter much.

Mayor DeliAccident will simply lead the charge in having the law amended to suit his needs, just like he's trying to do with the CPS strike.

And that doesn't matter much either.

Because if and when those cameras start causing legitimate taxpayers to drop a hundo for nonsense, there WILL be repercussions.

I promise you there are groups of pissed off citizens that are ready to go. They have already worked out the logisitics, bought necessary supplies and made dry runs.

Fuck you, Rahm. They got your number.

Rahm's solution?

Get a kid into every photo. Just slap one of those static cling window stickers onto the camera lens...

Or how about photoshop or CGI (Computer Generated Images)?

I'll betcha his brother, the Hollywood agent, has plenty of ultra-liberal, left wing movie people who could step up with a creative solution to "fix" this problem for our socialist mayor. Hell, both Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, two major democratic supporters and donors, became legends with their science fiction movies. If they can make us believe in aliens from " E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial", or "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", or "Star Wars", do you think they couldn't make us believe there is a "child" in every speed camera photo???

After all, its for the children!
