Judicial Endorsements
Seeing as how early voting started in Illinois the other day, we thought we'd release our usual list of judicial endorsements for this elections cycle:
- NO to all judges
While there may have been a judge or two who made our sympathy needle twitch slightly, our opinion remains that there is not one single judge in all of Cook County deserving of our unqualified support. So once again, we will go into the voting booth and vote "NO" to every single judge and encourage all of our readers to do the same.
With all the assholes on probation, shooting at police, murdering citizens and continuously receiving slaps on the wrist for multiple felony offenses, can anyone honestly say that the Cook County judicial system isn't broken beyond repair? Better to start from scratch.
You are welcome to disagree with our assessment - politely. You can even tout a judge you feel worthy of consideration by providing an anecdote to support your reasoning. But don't expect us to vote for them.

I know of one particular female judge who is on a rampage fueled by alcohol, her lifelong demon, and everyone is suffering her wrath...those who work with her, and those who come before her for sentencing, appeals, etc. She should not be allowed to sit on the bench. Period. I always vote NO and this time, my NO has a resounding ring to it, based on having seen this one corrupt judge in action. With all due respect to those fighting addiction, IT SHOULD NEVER BE THE DECIDING DEVIL ON A JUDGE'S SHOULDER. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON JUDGE dc.
I agree completely! Also, before voting for President, I suggest everyone watch the documentary "Obama 2016"! I am a PO and I'm truly scared to see what happens if he is elected again. I have heard so many of my co-workers say that their vote won't matter because of the city we live in, but this movie might change their mind. Vote early and often!
Agreed. No to ALL judges in Crook County.
I have been voting no to all judges since I became a cop thirty years ago. This racist corrupt judicial system in crook county is beyond compare.
If you want a real eye opener-take a look at the selection /vetting process. That alone will make you sick.
Agreed. I do it every election. This is Cook County. Vote every incumbent out, no matter what office it is.
Completely agree
I always vote no for judicial retention unless there's an overwhelming, ringing endorsement by the police.
I understand the frustration with Judge elections, but I also view that some of the Judges are good. I don not believe that the vast majority of Judges are politically biased. I truly think most Judges are compentent, and responsible. I advocate that a tribunal should be elected to appoint judges, so the elected officials can be held accountable for their appointments.
there are a few judges that are decent and should get a yes vote... might be nice to get a list together of the decent ones
Lets make this clear. Vote NO to all judges everytime. Long terms breed corruption as in every political office. This is why our founding fathers said two terms for president. No more. Except Chicago where you can stay in office forever.
The biggest test for these judges is getting slated by the Cook County Democratic slating committee. It ONLY happens with clout, nepotism, payoffs or some other such corruption.
Once these weasels get slated, they're a shoo-in to get elected, as NO Republican is usually on the ballot or can't win here anyway.
Now, the judges can keep their job forever simply by deciding every case that crosses their bench, the way they are TOLD they should be decided by the corrupt politicians.
It's a beautiful system... if you have no ethics, common sense or moral compass, that is!
What a political cesspool we live in. The stench makes me want to puke!
I always vote NO on the judges. Just because so many Demorats vote yes on all of them.
Judge Wolfson - Juvenile court Best judge I've been in front of there in 23 years .
Vote YES for Judge Kathleen Ann Panozzo - a huge friend to the Police.
Ask any working south side copper - she's the best.
I was in Br. 44 and I think it was Judge Fletcher who really gave the idiots in front of him some shit.
He asked one guy who was arrested for buying drugs,
"You don't have a job. You don't have an income, correct? So whose money are you using to buy drugs?"
The insinuation was that it was unemployment money.
I wanted to stand up and clap.
I heard the judge is leaving soon though, not sure if for retirement or what.
Wouldn't it be a better strategy to vote FOR only those judges who are effective, or who at least KIND OF get it, rather than a blanket "NO" vote on all? It seems like that would send more of a message.
Don't hurt me SCC.
But you have to wonder where the judges get their 'direction' from.
Just like the ASA's. Suddenly, subtly, there's been a shift to ASA's approving the unlikeliest of felony charges.
As a det., I don't pull the b.s. 'You got nothing, kid.' I will present any case that has the elements of a crime. Whereas before you'd have to pretty much convince ASA's to approve charges, now I can get on the phone and sing the probable cause to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and charges are approved.
Any other det's getting the same feeling?
Agree with you 100% - Also vote ALL incumbents out.... Change starts now. Thanks SCC
No to all I agree....
When I lived in Cook County I always voted "No" for every judge. There should be a box to vote the straight SCC Ticket.
Judge Mitchell, very pro police!
Scc, i wont name names but how can you say no to all judges? I know of at least two or three who NEED to be kept because they are our only ally left. they are huge supporters of the cpd, are good on the bench and fair and dont play games in the court room with slick defense attorneys. I really think you need to look hard at those names and realize that a few are really really good to us. Because dont forget, when you get rid of the current judges and some of the decent ones then your letting the wonderful citizens of chicago vote in our next judges.... and you know what that can bring.
Voted no to all judges, and voted against The One for POTUS.
You might want to vote for Daley's nephew for MRWD. We might need him in the bullpen to take on Emanuel in 2015.
Take this one step further and vote NO on all democrats that are running for various offices. It's time to take control of our country again.
The worse judge is that worthless chief azzhole evans!
Big no to KARKULA, the guy sucks bigtime, Vyrdoliak political hack!

Okay in theory... except WHO picks the tribunal???
You can be damn sure that these career criminal and corrupt politicians will NEVER allow anyone but themselves to determine WHO wears the judicial robes around here.
You can expect that this "tribunal" will simply consist of the same people (or their designated puppets) that currently make up the county Democratic slating committee.
Same shit, different day.

Elected officials held accountable?
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Actually, it wasn't the founding fathers. It was the 22nd amendment, passed in 1947 and ratified in 1951. It's a widely-held incorrect belief that there has always been a 2 term limit, because none of the founding fathers served more than 2 terms, for various reasons other than term limits.
Now, for the $64,000 question - who is the only president elected to more than 2 terms?
Unfortunately, it's pointless. Since this retention garbage started (in the 60's), not a single judge has ever lost. Not one.
I vote NO on all of them just on that. Maybe one of these days, one will lose
I still find it hard to believe that any Police Officer or any member of his family doe not vote. There is no excuse for this, none. Remember to vote NO NO NO on Article 49.

I'll take Franklin D. Roosevelt for 100 Alex.
Peggy Chiampas is a good, police friendly judge, neeed more like her.
Judge Nick Ford is very pro police and a good one at 26th St. He is not up for retention this time. I always vote to retain Nick Ford as should all police. He has sat on a lot of cop killer cases. Good man, good judge. He saw two miscreants breaking into his car and chased them down on foot, by himself, until police showed up to assist him. That was pretty good.
Way too simple. Roosevelt. Now pay up!
Amen

We used to have judicial appointments here in Cook County. Can't you imagine how corrupt that was? Then they went to this joke of election of judges process and retention and before it was used, they figured out how to game the system. The corruption just went from the appointment process to the slating of judges for "election."
If a person cannot get slated, they are not on the ballot and thus don't have a chance. Look at how many judges up for election are running unopposed. That is not by accident. That is de facto appointment of judges. This is Cook County, it has to be fixed.
Look who is on the Democratic Central Committee, which slates judges: John Daley and Ed Burke. Do you think there is anything even approaching fair with those two involved?
The only way appointment of judges might be fair here is if someone from another solar system is doing the appointing.

Not true. I know of at least one judge (Judge Lawrence Passarella) that got the boot, that judge fixed a case for the guy (Michael Colella) who beat the shit out of two police officers in 015 in the 1980's, Cathy Touhy being one of them. Colella was charged with attempted murder and agg batt. The judge turned the microphone off, issued his ruling tossing the case out on some bullshit affirmative defense and walked off the bench. No one heard his decision except the asshole who got sprung.
The attorney was Robert Cooley, a corrupt lawyer who fixed cases and wore a wire during other federal investigations.
There was an outcry and that judge was not retained. Might be one more, I can't remember. But all the judges of Graylord, all retained, even the one who killed himself rather than go to prison.
Does that mean NO vote for Judge Cynthia Brim also?
To the PO who made the comment on 10-22 at 12:16AM....
You commented that your co-workers have told you that they feel their vote AGAINST the demo-socialist party in Illinois won't matter. This is the kind of thinking that continues to keep the demo-socialist party in power. Do not think negatively about voting a straight Republican ticket....start thinking positively and VOTING a straight Republican ticket...do see the movie "Oboma 2016!" and LEARN
who/what oboma really is about. Socialists work under cover and the bozo in the White House has been stripped of his "hope and change" cover and revealed to be the most dangerous man in our White House. VOTE STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET...it takes but that first step by each and every one of your PO's to rid this city of the leftists in power, in the White House. Be in control of your own destiny..think positively, work toward a win in November, and let's get er' done.
Vote no to Senator John Mulroe 10th District has no use for thr Police and taxpayers, voted for 66 per cent tax hike.Well get him next time along with Mary Occonor.
Judges to not retain: Chevere, Hill-Veal, Gorman, Egan
(who says he is retiring so he shouldn't even be on the ballot), Brim, Chris Donnelly, Flanagan.
For more info go to voteforjudges.org
So, if they are all voted out, the new ones will be better?
I don't vote.
To 10-23, 6:19PM....
You said, "so, if they are all voted out, the new ones will be better?
No guarantees in this world, my friend. YOU KNOW what the current crop of demo-socialist/corrupt judges are all about...so, it's time to vote THEM ALL OUT, and VOTE IN Republican judges and give them the opportunity to show what they're made of. Be in control of your own destiny, and make the change now...vote straight Republican, remove the demo-socialist party from power in OUR White House, in Illinois, in this country. It takes but that first step...Rome wasn't built in a day...so let's get going and give the Republican Party the opportunity of showing what they can do...pass this on, and see you at the polls.
So, if they are all voted out, the new ones will be better?
10/23/2012 06:19:00 PM
if they are all voted out, the new ones will not be the old ones.
wouldn't you prefer a clean bowl to one overflowing with old turds?
You might want to vote for Daley's nephew for MRWD. We might need him in the bullpen to take on Emanuel in 2015.
10/22/2012 09:29:00 AM
shirley, stop your clowning.
To 10-21 at 9:00AM...
You said, "I don't vote."
ARE YOU PROUD that you don't take advantage of one of this county's opportunities to declare your choice on political issues BY VOTING?
If you do NOT vote in elections, then you are a sad excuse for a citizen of this country (and if you're not a legal citizen of this country, then you are an illegal alien, and that is a whole other story best saved for another time.) If you refuse to exercise your right to vote, then you cannot complain about how the Demo-Socialist Party currently located in OUR White House, and I'm speaking of one Barack Oboma and his czars and hacks who serve him. And that includes each Demo-Socialist in local government...like Rahm, Michael Madigan, Durbin, and soooo many other Demo-Socialists in the political and business areas in Illinois.
If you do not vote in November, you ARE voting for the Demo-Socialist Oboma. And you have just wasted an opportunity to vote for Romney, who is NOT a Demo-Socialist, who LOVES this country, and the Military, who has the cred/experience to return this country to the Constitution, Liberty and Freedom, who is supremely qualified to create the job opportunities in this country that Oboma is attempting to destroy by high-taxing small business owners who want to expand and HIRE people. Oboma is attempting to kill ALL jobs in this country EXCEPT government jobs and other types of businesses that oboma "owns"...oboma the socialist must control all jobs in this country, as a good socialist strives to do. But he can't tell you, the public, what he is doing and why, because you will be outraged and remove him from office in the November election. And so he LIES and LIES about the jobs he's "created,", (aside from the fact that a government DOES NOT create jobs, people CREATE jobs.) Oboma lies about the unemployment numbers by under-reporting the true numbers of people who can't find a job, who have stopped TRYING to find a a job. Oboma LIES and LIES, in true Socialist-style...in the belief if you're told a lie often enough, you will believe it! Read the book, "Rules for Radicals", a socialist handbook that oboma follows item by item, step by step. Allow this guy to win because YOU failed to vote, and your non-vote may be responsible for a oboma win, and you will see and feel how people in Cuba, China, North Korea, England live under under Socialism, oboma style.
Vote straight Republican in November, see you at the polls and make sure your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers get to the polls..offer to take them if they need a ride. If oboma wins in November, it will be the end of the USA as we know and love. Many millions of people DIED under socialist/communism/marxism/sharia-loving, jihad muslim countries. Have pride and love for the country that gave you the liberties and the FREEDOM to live your life as YOU choose.
TO 10-24 at 9:29AM....
Vote for Daley's nephew for MRWD, because "we" might need him in the bullpen to take on Emanuel in 2015????
So, you're still one of the ignorant Demo-Socialist Party drones who wants to perpetuate the scummy formerly known as democratic party hacks like rahm and michael madigan, durbin, OBOMA, just to name a few pieces of scum. And you like the way our country, Chicago is being run..corruption, greed, loss of freedoms, liberty, total disregard for the Constitution, to name a few "highlights' that can be contributed to the current Demo-Socialist Party in office? Continue to be a drone for the left, but get the hell out of the way because many people are fed up with the left's "attempt" to take over this country and turn it into a China, Cuba, England, North Korea to name but a few countries.
Or you can clean up your act, and remove the scum in City Hall, in the White House by voting straight Republican and giving the Republican Party to show what they can do...see you at the polls, make sure your family and friends vote, and pass this on.
Bring some order to the court
Just Say "NO" to:
Cynthia Brim
Rodney Hughes Brooks
Christopher Donnelly
Pamela Hill-Veal

A person who doesn't vote is a vote for Obama. He and I thank you.
