Inanimate pieces of metal and plastic started mowing down altar boys and boy scouts this weekend:
- Two men have been killed and another 11 people wounded in gun violence throughout Chicago since Friday afternoon.
The latest fatality happened Saturday afternoon in the Garfield Park neighborhood, where police found a 36-year-old man dead with a gunshot wound to the head.
Darn guns. Walking around like they own the place, unaware that they're just guns.
And we've still go Sunday to go with a warm week on tap.

Owners at Electric City Shooter's Supply believe political and economic factors are driving people to buy guns.
" Financial instability is a large part of it," says gun shop owner Kevin Lake. " The second presidential debate they were talking about re-initiating the assault weapons ban."
The demand for guns is so high, some manufacturers can't make them fast enough. Major gun companies are hiking prices of stock and for the first time in 20 years, the number of federally licensed retail gun dealers is up. Many companies have began to cater to their women costumers.
" I've moved down here all the girls I've met they were always so interested in it so I'm bringing them in," says gun owner Toni Pruski.
Companies are even selling holsters that are concealed under women's undergarments. Smith and Wesson's sales have gone up 44% during Obama's presidency. The FBI has conducted more than 50 million background checks on gun buyers so far in Obama's presidency compared to 28 million during the Bush administration.
Hand guns are being sold more to women here at Electric City Shooter's Supply. Women account for about 25% of sales here at the shop compared to just five percent four years ago.

I went to the bernstein class and didn't pay the $9 for parking. Look around the neighborhood lazy. Many spots open on Roosevelt , 30 yards away from the parking entrance. U would never have made Sgt anyway. Regarding paying for class. I think I'm gonna do it. I don't need it for the part 1 but it will get me to study all the orders and stuff so ill be much better on part 2. The cost of class is pennies on the dollar if this helps u make Sgt. Two to three nights of violence OT next year.

Bernstein class is not worth it. Took both the disc and sgts class last time around and studied my ass off. Scored below 500 on both and still sitting in a district. I was told people had copies of the test and I believe it. The second half of the test is SA and cannot be graded fairly. One or two points can make you or break you. Add on meritorious and you have to score in the top two percent to make it. Study on your own and you have the same chance.
Rumor that we will be on 12 hour days around election time. More than a rumor actually.

Took Bernstein class for sgts test in 99. Sored in the upper 5%. Ranked under 100. Put in tons of time. Well worth the money. They teach u how to break down the orders. Also if they help u answer two more questions right, you jump up 50 spots. Took Bernstein for LT. in 2006. Scored in upper 12%. Again ranked under 90. Still waiting, need one more class. Again , they help u breakdown orders and teach u how to present ur answers in the all important essay part. Good luck, study ur ass off.

OT- Went to the Bernstein prep class today. Unsure if it's worth it to pay for the class. Any thoughts/opinions from anyone that has paid for the classes before? (And I know, I don't have a phone call so it's hopeless anyway blah, blah, blah)

I went to Bernstein's "Free" class also . . .
I saw the sign that said "Police Training" and pulled into the lot and was told parking was $9.00 for the 2 hours.
I then made a U-Turn and went back home!!
Fuck YOU Bernstein and FUCK YOU Rahm !!!
I will just retire early and leave this city before my family gets raped alive!

It was a free class. You could not swing the $9.00 for parking? Was Bernstein making money of the parking? Sometimes you have to pay a few expenses to get ahead. It is no wonder that Calumet College is so successful. It does not charge a cent up front (parking is free). And the students get a worthless piece of paper. In return the city pays an incredible amount of money. But we will see how that Calumet College education pays off on the promotional test.
