Great Start to Long Weekend
- It’s been a bloody start to the Thanksgiving holiday with one man who tried to stop a fight between a husband and wife on Wednesday night stabbed to death and at least eight people -- including a 15-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the head -- wounded in shootings around the city since Wednesday afternoon.
William Terry, 55, was stabbed when he tried to intervene in an argument between a married couple in the Roseland neighborhood about 7:11 p.m. in the 10300 block of South Forest Avenue, authorities said. A man who was arguing with his wife took a kitchen knife and stabbed Terry multiple times throughout his body, police said.
And eight shot with one dead. And guess where the dead guy just came from?
- The man identifies with a local gang, police said, and had recently served time in prison for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
He was paroled from Shawnee Correctional Center on Oct. 25 and was scheduled to have his parole discharged on the same date in 2013.
Couldn't even make it a month without getting killed. We wonder if he made the "hot list." Because if he did, someone has a couple of free hours since they don't have to look for him any more.

Definitely need tighter control of these knives! Anyone can buy one. No background check, no serial numbers nothing.

Over 2,100 gun shot victims in Chicago so far this year. At $52K on avg for medical cost per victim we're at $109,200,000.00.
Add to that the over 450 homicides that cost on avg. $400K to investigate and prosecute and we have $180,000,000.00
Add to that about $55K per year of jail time for each person we finally put away, let's say it's 1,000 people and we have another $55 million dollars on the taxpayers.
Grant total: $344.2 million dollars.
So we have to cut everyone's pensions and call it pension reform instead -- cut everyone's health care or push the health care cost onto us because the costs are skyrocketing from city violence. It's like taking candy from a baby
Don't address the root cause of Chicago's financial problems as the politicians will lose their clouted empires.
I don't understand why there is still no ban on kitchen knives. Or at least a violence tax. Especially if purchased in districts that elect criminals.

Why don't we investigate the homicides with REAL victims exclusively? Grand total savings:
$344 million dollars.
We need Sheriff Joe A. here to calm things down
good riddance

Jim Edgar banned sporks and pardoned Walter Burnett.
You know, it's just not a traditional Chicago Thanksgiving until somebody gets killed over a Turkey leg.
