Del Pearson Coin Toss

  • The road to recovery took another step Sunday for wounded Chicago Police Officer Del Pearson as he took part in Bears pre-game festivities at Soldier Field.

It was a day Pearson and his daughter will never forget.

"It's mixed emotions being out here," Pearson said. "It's a dream come true to be on the sidelines of a Chicago Bears game."

The highly decorated officer had the honor of handing the official coin to the referee for the coin toss at 50 yard line for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Too bad a little luck didn't rub off on the Bears though. Get well.

Great to see Del live one of his dreams on the Bears sideline.
Too bad about the nightmare he had to witness again.

I am glad that he is still here and is doing better. I wouldn't of wanted to be him that night. I have met him and he is a great person. I also think that it was a very nice thing that they did for him.

Good for Del! A good cop, and great friend/family man.
Although it's extremely doubtful that he'll ever work on the streets again, I'll be glad to see him back in some capacity for the Dept.
