Chain of Custody

After the monstrous lies told by the spokesweasel for the Department, many commentators asked questions about "chain of custody" issues that might arise, seeing as how possible evidence in criminal trials may have been displayed for what was essentially a publicity stunt.

Someone else reminded all of our readers not to worry about it.  The chain-of-custody has never meant anything to GMac anyway:
  • What ever came of that gun "found" by Stuporintendent Gun Magnet at the liquor store in 011, 015(?).

    You remember that one, dontcha?

GM-Squared and his entourage, while enroute to blow some more smoke up the ass of a local media outlet, just so happen to cross paths with some suspicious perps exiting a liquor establishment.

The perps are stopped, searched and sent on their way (WITHOUT the almighty Contact Cards being completed from all indication - for shame!) before the Gun Magnet does what he does best - finds a pistol. Only this pistol is sans magazine or ammunition. Hhhhmmmmm....

He then directs his driver to pawn off the documentation and inventory of said weapon at the district desk while he greets the media whores curbside. Driver produces said pistol from his waistband (so much for preservation of evidence) and says something to the effect of "the Superintendent needs this gun inventoried", and relays the entire story to officers working the desk.

Desk personnel smell a rat, and press the driver for particulars: were the guys stopped contact-carded? Were they thoroughly searched? Did the liquor store have surveillance? Was the store thoroughly searched for the magazine to the weapon? Doesn't he find it funny that the gun was empty? Did he or the Supe retrieve business license information? Call a district beat car to document the incident or notify field Lieutenant per protocol? Why wasn't the ET requested to process/recover the weapon?

A few more questions and the Supe's driver reportedly gave up and pawned off the entire "investigation" to a tact team happy to both pad their stats and bask in the presence of McTootMyOwnHornForTheMedia.

So now The Great White Dope gets caught in yet another lie. Ironically outed as a fraud by the same soulless media that put him on a pedestal for his Oscar-worthy NATO performance. We know Garry carries 9-Point-5's water, but how much embarrassment is one tyrant to tolerate before he cuts his losses?

    Tick Tock, Garry.
We shouldn't be surprised. After all, walking through crime scenes and getting evidence caught in the treads of his shoes doesn't exactly sound like anyone who thinks of actually successfully prosecuting any sort of crime, let alone homicides in Murder Capitol USA.

Does any of this sound plausible? Or familiar? It does to us:
  • Oh no we don't have time to inventory the guns. But we have PLENTY of time looking up what make and characteristic and cal. the guns were and time to search for ones that look just like the ones we have.
  • Our commander would always have us put some of our backup guns or even service weapons on the table to make it look more impressive for the news dupes who ate it up along with the free donuts and coffee for them at the HQ show.
  • Yeah, plenty of time go through all the weapons and put the "scariest" guns out there. Hell, with all the lying going on I'm sure some of those guns were recovered many years ago. Maybe some are even department guns or SWAT guns put out there just to make it look good. This crew is capable of anything.
And as someone else pointed out, "Not a .22 or a .25 in the bunch." Hell of a thing, isn't it?

Why does no one question the blatant lies of this administration? This anti-gun stupidity is a direct threat to the Constitution. It's number two in the Bill of Rights for a reason. Because it's just that damned important.

No a man who thought it more important to serve in a foreign army during the Gulf War is in charge and acting like a dictator against businesses like Chik-Fil-A and trying to disarm the people to more easily rob them.

True, I never see any small cal. guns when they put on their "scary guns" show. I wish the media would just not show up to their non-credible photo ops anymore, but I'm sure they will cause they too are in the business of deception and distortion of the truth. The media is also pumping the "only guns for the criminals" adjenda. Sorry honest citizen. No guns for you.

McNumbNuts will add another ribbon to his uniform for it.

Maybe IAD should come up with an actual "I got away with it ribbon". Most exempts would qualify for multiple awards.

I know for a fact that the guns they put out for the media after the gun turn in events are not guns turned in from that date either. They go into ERPS and find the "scary looking" ones and grab those.

It was the scary black "high powered assault rifle" on the table.

An HK 416-22 to be exact.

A license investigation was conducted and the paper was not done by a tact team. The team that did the paper was an outside unit. If anything they were more concerned about having to do paper on something that they did not have first hand knowledge of. Just saying

I just want to make a point before this guy is gone. Using "Mc" is the same as mocking a black or Hispanic superintendent because of their heritage which would be considered racist. The term "Mc" was a term pulled from the Irish surnames and used in a derogatory manner. I'm not complaining I just want to make the point before we're all called racist for doing the same to future superintendents of different races.

I give whoever hammered the driver with all these questions a lot of credit. At least he or she was smart enough and ballsy enough to call them on their bullshit. Most hairgel goofs on this job nowadays would be fighting to be the one to inventory a gun the Super brought in. I remember seeing this non story and McPuds self promoting interview on the news and I just knew there had to to more to the story. It was in front of A4/011 for the afternoon/evening news so it had to be their desk people that torpedoed the whole nonsense story. The sad part is the Supe's driver was probably made merit sergeant already.

from NBC online, a couple hours ago:

"A man suffered a graze wound on a shipping dock across the street from the Merchandise Mart, police said. Chicago Police said the shooting occurred at about 6 a.m. [this morning] outside the Apparel Center on the 300 block of North Orleans at West Mart Center. The condition of the victim is not known, but police confirmed he sustained a graze wound to the head. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The motive for the shooting was not clear.

SunTimes Office is in that building. Michael Scott shot himself in head near that building. One begins to wonder...

To the unpublished dumbass:

First of all, we didn't write the play-by-play narrative we quoted. If you read the blog for more than a minute, you'd remember it being posted a day or two after it actually happened by someone in 011.

The complete clusterfuck that GMac dropped in the laps of the District Desk without regard to proper police procedure was appalling. Of course, we now know that that's SOP for this tool.

The fact that we have little to say about superintendents in a positive light is more a reflection on the ongoing corruption and political dealings than anything. If you've lived in Chicago for any length of time and aren't disgusted by what you see, then you're part of the problem.

Sorry we have standards. Our sympathies that you don't seem to have any.

if the sale is to an 'illegitimate buyer', then how is the sale 'legitimate'?

or are you actually wanting to inquire as to the marital status, or lack thereof, of the buyer or seller's parentage?

Nope. Try again. No one here is using the derogatory term 'Mick'.
When McJersey arrived here, some people couldn't remember what his last name was, or spelled it wrong. There was even a call for a contest on SCC to determine a universal nickname we could all use for Garry.
Mc(fill in the blank) became the descriptor for whatever current foul-up he was engaged in. McDrunkie, McPilgrim, McStreetlightMarksman, all serve to describe which of the many goofy Department bosses we're talking about. It's no different than the nicknames given to Weis, or other Department or City 'bosses'.
