Rahm Can't Wait

Rushing to do things invariable leads to bad results - and taxpayer pockets being picked. Witness the Red Light Camera fiasco, the Parking Meter debacle, the on-going Speed Camera drama. Now Rahm wants to rush through a local gun ban:
  • Conceding that “waiting is not my strong suit,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Thursday he’s drafting a Chicago-only gun control ordinance that, he hopes, will prod the Illinois General Assembly to ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.

Emanuel offered no specifics on how far he planned to go, given the city’s track record of going too far and having its handgun ban overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

He would only say he was frustrated by the General Assembly’s failure to act during the lame-duck session and that he was not prepared to wait any longer to stop the bloodbath on Chicago streets.

Of course, exactly ONE homicide was committed with a rifle in Chicago last year, so this will do what exactly? Oh yeah, deprive the owners of legal weapons of guns they almost never misuse while criminals (who never obeyed the law in the first place) continue to run amok.

And who's going to be enforcing this "ban?" Especially in light of the failure of every other gun ordinance in Chicago that fails to withstand court challenges?

We're rapidly approaching a point where Officers are going to be called upon to make choices. Choices that can (and will) lead to loss of personal assets, loss of jobs, or even worse when people decide they aren't turning in their guns peacefully.

And in those cases, we aren't going to say that the citizens are in the wrong.

I predict at least one part of the proposed new ordinance will be a reinstatement of annual registration renewals at the current fee of $15 a gun. Remember when the ordinance was changed and we all had to re-register our guns with the promise that it would be a one time only fee? Watch....get ready to pony up boys and girls!

This is going to be New York Style, just like McAsshole was blowing about last week. Chicago Tonight said -- Mandatory minimum sentences for illegal possession, background checks at gun shows/private sales, notification requirement if gun lost/stolen, no "assault weapons" or "extended magazines," and one other I forget.

Scare the snot out of decent people and bother the scumbags not one whit.

That's the idea.

Heh, the transfer of wealth goes to the lawyers as this jackazz creates more constitutional challenges.

He gets away with running over the US Constitution with city ordinances when it comes to free speech in a park so why not expand and abuse that power?

The constitution, mortgages, liar loans, fraudulent foreclosures, meaningless signatures on paper... I don't know what they mean anymore.

Two sets of laws, two levels of law enforcement with the clouted ones always not admitting or denying anything when they get caught and set free -- that is if they are even charged at all.

From the highest offices in the nation. Banking regulators failing, Dept of Justice running guns and failing, Homeland Security failing, FDA failing. What are we paying taxes for? None of these people are being held accountable!

They are robbing our pensions, our social security calling it reform and even our real estate. It's a mad asset grab.

The Cook Co. Treasurer has said that the people in Chicago owe them a debt of over $87,000 each. If and when you ever will your paid-for property to your kids the county is setting up to seize that property when our kids will be unwilling to pay that bill working at their WalMart-like jobs.

Look at it. $87,000 per person and growing. It's like a 30 year mortgage being placed on our kids before they are even out of school.

Where's the money going?

Rahm spends it on $55 million dollar memorial tribute parks that you had better not use to voice your opinion in or you'll get locked up!

Add to that the $16 trillion in national debt and there's at least another $100,000 dollars in debt per person. and then the $200 billion in state debt.

Add it all up and the next generation of our kids will work as indentured servants of the state if we assume the debt has to be paid off.

The debt is well over $250K, a quarter of a million dollars, per person if you spread it out equally. At least a lifetime of debt. And the problem is that you can't spread it out equally because many people will not earn that kind of money over their entire 40 year career!

Yet the lies continue as I write.

The formula the politicians use to determine if they have to make a pension contribution is based upon the pensions money that's already there earning 7% per year. What investment is earning 7% today?

It can't go on. It's impossible to go on. Anyone that knows math and how exponential growth works knows it.

"(Emanuel) was not prepared to wait any longer to stop the bloodbath on Chicago streets."

Ha. The mayor knows that this will not stop the mutts from busting into a gun store and lugging literally buckets of pistols back to Englewood to sell for cash money.

He's not concerned about that.

Someone just posted here about how Aurora got their shootings down -- got a whole bunch of agencies together (INCLUDING ICE) and scooped up hundreds of serious offenders. It was just on TV too. McCarthy knows this -- he was at the meeting table with the Aurora chief when the Chief spoke. And probably let it go in one ear and out the other. After all, we have CompStat.

Mayor Shitass here will piss away a couple million on more "parks" before he tries anything that might do some good.

LMAO. The current ban on fully automatic weapons is working so well isn't it? So is the ban on illicit drugs.

We just pulled an uzi off the streets the other night and a week or so ago what was it a Tec-11?

You could put a $16 trillion dollar fine and life imprisonment or even the death penalty in place if a person is caught with a banned weapon and it's not going to stop the deranged mass murderers. They already accepted death from their actions as the only outcome because the majority of the time they are suicidal.

As far as the kids in the hood. They'll take the risk. They have nothing to look forward to. No future. Their mindset is that they will not live to see the age of 25. Society doesn't work for them.

Nevertheless, Rahm can use the crisis to enrich himself and the city law firms.

They'll all play a numbers game like the CompStat numbers game to transfer our wealth.

If true inflation rises 5% they'll apply some "seasonal adjustment" or "heuristic factor" computation that produces a lower number to justify lower wages. Each time they do it a lil' more is skimmed off the fruits of our labor.

Take the latest unemployment report for example. They do their math magic there too.

New "seasonally adjusted" claims for unemployment were cheered today in the media. Yay only something like 337K new unemployment claims for the week or whatever the exact number was touted. When you dig into the actual report and look at the raw numbers there were well over a half million claims for the same report.

The numbers game is done with CPI and inflation.

There's talk how we can use "chained CPI" to determine pension COLA's instead of plain ol' CPI to reduce the politicians obligation to the pension program.

CPI will produce one number, seasonally adjusted inflation will produce another, and actual inflation will be yet another.

We are getting scammed and the transfer of wealth is not to whom you may think it is. The transfer of wealth is going to the wealthy.

The fear of the have nothings trying to get the have little's assets is used so the have a lots can have it all. As long as they can keep us fighting amongst ourselves we can be divided and conquered. Like the never ending Republican vs Democrat debates as BOTH sides fund corporate tax breaks with political campaign contribution kick backs.

They don't represent the will of the people. They represent the will of the corporations.

Bracken: Dear Mr. Security Agent
Posted on January 7, 2013

Federal, state, or local. You, the man or woman with the badge, the sworn LEO or FLEA and those who inhabit the many law enforcement niches in between and on all sides. This essay is directed to you, because in the end, how this turmoil about gun control turns out will depend largely upon your decisions and actions over the coming months and years.

***

The unintended consequences of this misguided utopian fool’s crusade to ban guns would include a second civil war as agonizingly painful as the first one, if not more so, since there would be no front lines and no safe areas for anybody, anywhere. Every sane American wants to prevent such a calamitous outcome as a “dirty civil war” on United States soil.

But know this: those tens of millions will never be quietly disarmed and then later forced at government gunpoint onto history’s next boxcars. If boxcars and detention camps are to be in America’s future, then you, Mr. Security Agent, will have to disarm them the hard way first. Not Piers Morgan, not Michael Moore, not Rosie O’Donnell, not Dianne Feinstein, not Chuck Schumer.

Yeah the parking meter debacle. Thanks for the reminder.

The parking meter debacle whereas the Federal government will give us all a tax break for using the meters. We get to deduct our parking meter expenses up to several thousands of dollars.

Woo-Hoo. The feds are helping us, the little guy, right?

Yeah, the Feds will take money that could be used to create jobs here, create new infrastructure here, or pay off the nations debt here. They will use that money to give us a break on our parking meter expenses here in Chicago.

Who's the true beneficiary of this action? Who ends up with the money?

Why a group of unknown investors located in Abu Dhabi that's who. Google it!

We think that we got a tax break for parking expenses nevertheless who has to make up for that money that is being sent out of the country in this tax break incentive? Certainly not the unknown investment group in Abu Dhabi.

No we are not getting a tax break!

We are funding that Abu Dhabi outfit, that bought the Chicago parking meters, subsidizing it, with people's tax dollars who do not even drive or park downtown.

It's being done by creating this tax break incentive. We pay $6.5/hour to park and the Feds in Washington will give us maybe up to 33% back depending on our income bracket.

You win on the parking meter and then lose it right back when they raise our federal taxes to fund the tax incentive.

Using the crisis to export our nations wealth to a foreign country.

Follow the money. Then ask who are these unknown investors in Abu Dhabi that are getting all the benefits for the next 100 years.

NRA adds 100,000 new members (in just 18 days) after Newtown

***

NRA spokesman Mike Allen told Politico today they added 100,000 after Newtown, jumping from 4.1 to 4.2 million in the wake of the tragedy. He apparently sees the entire conversation around guns stemming from Newtown as highly advantageous to the NRA: “Our goal is to get to 5 million before this debate is over,” he said.

***

Which is probably why Obama is considering an executive order. With an issue this polarizing passing legislation is probably unlikely.

“The NRA is hearing not just from Beltway elites and the chattering class, but real Americans all over the country that are hoping the NRA is not going to compromise on any of the principles of the Second Amendment,” said Allen, “nor are we going to support banning guns.”

If you're lucky you can run into one of the many downtown street mobs or perhaps get jacked up and stabbed in the bathroom of a downtown restaurant.

If you kids are lucky they may step on and find one of the many shell casings from the over 500 murders and a take home souvenir!

Obama Opposed Gun Ban Exception to Defend One’s Home

by KEITH KOFFLER on JANUARY 11, 2013, 9:58 AM
As a state senator in Illinois, President Obama opposed legislation providing an exception to handgun restrictions if the weapon was used in the defense of one’s home.

Obama’s vote would have maintained the status quo, which made it a violation of municipal gun ban law to use a firearm to save your own life in your own home. But the bill was passed anyway without his support.

He Can't wait? Then what about this?

CBS News host Norah O’Donnell on Tuesday called out Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel for telling Attorney General Eric Holder to “shut the fuck up” about reinstating the assault weapons ban when both men worked for President Barack Obama’s administration in 2009.

According to Daniel Klaidman’s book, Kill or Capture, Emmanuel was serving as the White House chief of staff and became enraged after hearing that Holder had given a speech vowing to keep Obama’s campaign promise to ban assault weapons.

“The comments roused the powerful gun lobby and its water carriers on Capitol Hill. ‘Senators to Attorney General: Stay Away from Our Guns’ read a press release issued by Senator Max Baucus of Montana — a Democrat, no less,” Klaidman wrote. “Emanuel was furious. He slammed his desk and cursed the attorney general. Holder was only repeating a position Obama had expressed during the campaign, but that was before the White House needed the backing of pro-gun Democrats from red states for their domestic agenda.

“The chief of staff sent word to Justice that Holder needed to ‘shut the fuck up’ on guns…”

Real decent guy, veteran, son a senior at Annapolis. The PO assigned the job asks the man for his FOID. So this turned into a teaching opportunity. The PO didn't know that Americans who didn't live in Illinois weren't required to have FOIDs and the owner didn't know that in Illinois guns are supposed to be encased while in a car. We all went our own ways, 19P. If we had locked him up he probably would have missed his son's graduation and commissioning into the USMC.

New ordinance proposal:

By: Taxpaying citizens of Chicago / Illinois / USA

When elected official/s knowingly choose to violate an existing constitutional right, against the voice of a majority of a Ward's taxpaying citizens, the official loses the benefit of those Ward's taxpaying funds to support the legal expenses incurred during this violation process.

The official must be totally and completely responsible for the fees, fines, and legal costs as a result of his / her actions.

Once placed on notice that the official has been denied funding from the taxpaying Ward members,
in order to proceed, the official must deposit a substantial bond, not less tham 50% cash of the expected expenses were a case to proceed.

Punitive damages would become mandated were the official to proceed and lose thus creating an open door to class action suits by said protesting citizens.

Again, no fiducary indemnification from the taxpayer.

The White House’s anti-gun project has created a minor crack in the progressive firmament, with African-American advocates worrying that increased police security at schools may lead to greater arrests of African-American students.

“Adding police and armed security to schools often means that normal student behavior becomes criminalized,” said a Jan. 10 statement from Damon Hewitt, a lawyer at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Speaking of Rahm not caring to wait he can't wait to lay the wood to the retiree's on their health care. He's already been laying the groundwork. Alderthief O'Connor was in ScumTimes today saying retiree's need to realize that the money simply isn't there on the city's end. Rahm has tipped his hand but says he's waiting for some study to wrap up before showing his hand.
The money simply isn't there? WTF? These are retiree's that gave a good chunk of their lives to protecting the city often at the expense of their own health and now you want to put the screws to them? You say we have no money but Rahm can toss $11 million for gardens in the ghettos? Almost $ 100 million for bike lanes that will fuck up traffic and be used by less than 2% of city's population yet you have no money for your retiree's?? If you two weren't such blood sucking weasels you'd be ashamed of yourselves!

As our society implodes before our eyes, there will be a time in the near future when the savages will again be burning buildings, rioting in the streets, and shooting at the police in mass numbers.

For most of my life I've felt the NRA was too extreme for its own good, but now that the anti-gunners are beginning to show their true form I'm considering giving a little bump to that 100k+ new members too. Someone's got to stand up to these loser pols who sit in their posh mansions dictating how it's going to be for the little people while the cities they rule burn down around them.

As others have pointed out, if the powers that be decide to do something drastic you need to be aware that whichever side you choose, you'll be opposed by many of your brothers on the force because the police (and the military, if an actual insurrection went down) are going to split down the middle between the party men who'll do anything for the hand that feeds them and those who choose to take a stand. Also be aware that, if history is any guide, those who most zealously crusade in the name of the government will be disposed of as soon as said government is able to because the power elite does not abide anything resembling a threat to their own personal land and titles. Just axe Leon Trotsky, he'll tell you how it works.

The Army is preparing

http://www.conservativedailynews.com/2012/08/war-college-articles-offensive-scenario-defames-tea-party/

A recent war college magazine posting has people up in arms about the role of the military in domestic operations, and mentions the “Tea Party” as a bad actor in the scenario.

1/11/2013 10:13:00 AM

Read it carefully. They also make the cops out to be bad guys. The cops are the ones who support the Tea Party people because they despise the corrupt politicians.

The absurdity of the paper is that they acknowledge that the politicians are corrupt, but still want the military to go after the American people who are trying to take back their government from tyrants who destroy the Constitution..

Get used to this. It might become a reality very soon.

Probably will do what Pelosi did with ObamaCare: drop a copy of the ordinance on their desk and have them vote on it in 3 minutes, before they read it.

Hmm, most decent semi-auto rifles are already banned in Chicago, as well as normal-capacity magazines, so what's left for Rahm to ban?

Crayons in metallic colors and large pictures of guns?

1/11/2013 01:59:00 AM
Yes, you are correct. Cook County also has an ordinance that bans " assault weapons". I say look for a ban on all semi-automatic firearms, with no grandfather clause. You must get them out of the city, cannot register them and if caught with them in the future a heavy fine and jail. The constitutional lawyers at U of C have stated they believe this semi-auto ban can pass a court test. The concealed carry law in NY State does not apply to NYCity. Anything can be done when it comes to firearms whether is makes sense or not to you, as long as it makes sense to a liberal democrat it does not have to be proven effective. It makes them feel good.

Really? Tell that to the Daley family and the rest of the liberal democrats in this country. When they find a federal law that they do not like, they just ignore it. How about when you owe the city or state money. How long do you think they will let you slide before they come for you? Then, when they owe you money, it takes years to collect ( if ever) and when you do they only pay you 50% and tell ytou if you dont like it, sue.

And when the cooler heads who know more about the subject try to raise their hands and say: "maybe this isn't a good idea" they get shouted down forcefully.
