"Quiet Neighborhood?"

  • A man was killed and another seriously wounded in a shooting outside a convenience store in the Old Town neighborhood on the North Side, authorities said.

[...] Neighbors reported hearing as many as 10 gunshots and later saw one man being taken away in a neck brace, the other being worked on by paramedics.
And guess what people are noticing?
  • Neighbors said they are angered by what seems to be an increase in crime. “You can’t even go to the store without getting shot and killed,” said Chante Morris, 30.
So a "decrease in the decrease?"

Fifteen dead so far this year

They must not have gotten the message from Rahm and McPandering. Crime is down and sometimes it gets too hot on the beach near the cool water.

Old town is stating a regeneration campaign! But alas the animals still live and breed and KILL THERE, Taxpaying citizens and visitors watch out for stray bullets from the guns of legitimate gang banging cowards! Protect ourself carry and train with a big gun kill or be killed! The police force is very depleted and we are not supported by our leaders or the pathetic elected criminals?

Ten years ago, the scene of the murder in the 1300 block of N. Sedgwick St. and the Marshall Field Garden Apts. were identified with Cabrini-Green. Since the city razed the high-rise projects, realtors are now calling Cabrini-Green "Old Town".

Yes, this killing is going to set the cure for the common cold back at least a decade. Not. It's dope dealers killing dope dealers. Will he be missed? Sure, who else will be able to fill _________'s (Insert Victim's Name) spot on the corner/porch/sidewalk? His passing will be reason to place empty Hennessy bottles and stuffed bears in CVL colors at the scene. It is a shame your 8 kids won't get a chance to know you, but at least momma will continue to get gov'ment money and never really depended on the unpaid child support.

Nothing to worry about.

The "gardens" have been totally rehabbed at least three times. And promptly ravaged at least three times. Common denominator, anyone? Marshall Field must be spinning in his grave.

Well put, in a nutshell.
That area always was Cabrini el Norte.
Now because of the white urban pioneers, the real estate people refer to it as Old Town.
Meet Old Town, same as the old town.

Second City Cop can we have an official McRam-0- meter death score board placed on the site. It sound morbid but we can compare the numbers to the classification guru.

16 death in ten day. If death count continues at that rate. Divide 365 day by 10 days =36.5 x 16 deaths = 584 deaths in a 2013. But I'm just saying.
