Charges Filed
- Micheail Ward, 18, and Kenneth Williams, 20, have been charged in the murder of Hadiya Pendleton, according to Chicago police.
Ward, of the 300-block of W. 59th St., and Williams, of the 3900-block of S. Lake Park Ave., were both charged with first degree murder, two counts of attempted first degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm, police said.
Police said Ward has confessed to firing the fatal shots. Williams allegedly drove the getaway car. Both are alleged gang members.
The D-unit spent a lot of time dotting i's and crossing t's. Hopefully, it all plays out. Nice jobs.

I read that the shooter had a previous UUW from 2012, plead guilty, and got 2 yrs probation. Well, that worked, didn't it? Did Anita's office OK that deal? Or was it some judge, 'cuz Toni said there are too many black and brown people in jail? Once again, the justice system in Crook County has failed, and a 15yr old innocent girl paid the price. I hope those responsible for this deal sleep well each night.
Come on now. I thought McDrunky was the arresting officer. He sure acted like he was. Gave him an excuse to bring up how these bad guys would not have been on the street If it was New York. Now matter how this clown spins everything, he is underwater and hopefully his time is short here.

Obviously a couple of Rhodes scholars, about to turn their lives around. Too bad Ramm-It's failed logic on assault weapons doesn't apply here. This is another glaring example of how Cook County's judicial system failure cost yet another innocent person their life.
If this girl had not played at Obama's inauguration one week earlier, this case would still be unsolved.
Great work by the detectives. terrible job by citizens and witnesses who refused to come forward.
Many cases could be solved if there was enough manpower. but solving crimes is expensive, and not a cost the city is willing to spend unless you played in the band at the president's inauguration.

Glad that the shooter is in custody. To bad it don't mean a damn thing, the hoopla surrounding this poor kids murder is as big as the hoopla that happened when Dantrell got murdered and nothing has changed.
12:41 P.M. You hit the nail right on the head. It costs a lot of money to prosecute these mutts when people don't cooperate. Including when law enforcement is killed.

Hey dumbass... no witness/communitay cooperation... Somebody with informants identified the offenders. Somebody with informants located the offenders and then set up on them. Because of the HEAT on the case, those "ROTI" guys were permitted to make a stop and place in custody. Luckily, one of the mopes gave it up... If not for that, you could be bitchin about OCD arrest getting RWOC'd in 48 hrs. Good work by all involved-Area 1 Homicide and Gang Intel (We'll change everything back soon enough so I chose not to acknowledge McSchtupe's changing and re-arranging). Most unfortunate about the whole affair is that it may have saved GMac for a time.
