An Alligator?
- Spurred by the shooting of an off-duty police officer, a three-month joint investigation of a street gang faction ended this week with eight arrests in Summit and Chicago, along with the confiscation of guns, drugs -- and an alligator.
After an arrest was made in December's shooting, authorities began an investigation into the Latin Kings gang faction the suspect belonged to, targeting drug sales in Summit and the Chicago Lawn police district on the Southwest Side, according to a CPD news release issued tonight.
On Thursday warrants were served in both locations, leading to the arrests of eight people on drug or weapons charges, and the seizure of two loaded handguns, quantities of cocaine and cannabis, cash, and an alligator.
This investigation grew out of the December shooting of an off-duty copper in a failed carjacking. Nicely done.

I got sent on an "alligator in the backyard" call once and sure enough, there was a three foot long one in the yard. I kind of swirled it into a round metal trash can and had the fattest kid who was there watching this circus, sit on the can until animal control arrived. All's well that ends well.

My brothers had a alligator in college, the ladies would come over and they told them not to look behind the shower curtain in the bath tub. Of course they looked, and screamed and ran like hell!
Well, the gators name was little bastard, became a big bastard, and was getting to big for the tub. He now lives at a golf corse in the drink of the 13th hole (In Texas) .

It's a shame that it took an officer being shot for the department to FINALLY admit that Latin Kings essentially took over the west end of 008.
They moved in over ten years ago, began buying businesses as fronts to launder their drug money, committed who knows how many morgage frauds buying up houses all over the neighborhood and essentially ran unchecked thanks to every car in 008 being confined to the "boxes" and "hotspots" out east.
Citizens on the west end have been left to the savages.
