Average Number Shot
We've arbitrarily set the number of people wounded on any given day at 10. Some days might be a little less, some might be a little more....like yesterday:
- One man is dead and at least eleven other people have been wounded in shootings on the South and West sides since Friday afternoon.
McGregory Porter, 24, was shot in the eye and another man was shot in the abdomen during an altercation late Friday in the West Side Austin neighborhood, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. in the 5500 block of West Quincy Street, police said.
Does anyone have the total number of people shot? We're just wondering if it will track with ten-a-day.

We don't have last nights finally tally, but it's looking like a record for this year in terms of number of shot and dead.
But through yesterday afternoon:
6/10: 11 wounded, 1 dead
6/11 : 7 wounded, 1 dead
6/12 : 4 wounded, 3 dead
6/13 : 8 wounded, 1 dead
6/14 : 10 wounded, 1 dead
6/15 : 9 wounded (through 3pm)
The above averages 9.3 per day so your average of 10 is pretty damn close. Well done.
