Light Posting

We're kind of..... involved..... in a little overtime thing.

A triple overtime thing.

And then we expect we'll be tired after driving home.

Plus, the storms put a damper on things.

Open post in the meantime.

The City's governance is unsustainable. It is photo enforcing its citizen, shaking down landlords for bogus code violations, and has a costly and lengthy process to get a business license.

Parking is outrageous. The weather sucks. And crime is third world.

As a Mt. Greenwood resident, I am seriously considering moving. I think that I have had it with the politics, corruption, crime, and waste and abuse by City and County officials. It is just not worth it, and I cannot afford it.

Second City Cop, need some help. Not sure if you will post this but will give it a try. There is a competition coming to Chicago this weekend, it is a food truck competition where food trucks go from city to city, maximize selling and who ever wins at the end wins the food truck. A military friend of mine from MN contacted me and asked if I would be able to help to get the word out. The co-owners of this truck are not cops but one was in the military. I am looking for some assistance in trying to find a location for them to LEGALLY park their truck for the weekend, where the most amount of foot/vehicular traffic would be. I thought of the obvious Navy Pier, Soldier Field (a big concert going on there for the weekend) but there is not any legal parking around either location. I was thinking Wrigleyville, your thoughts? Once they find a location I will let you all know where they will be and hopefully between the law enforcement and military community we can fill their truck with money. The name of the truck is the Tikka Tikka Taco truck. Thanks for any help any of you can come up with. I know how well we take care of our own, let's also take care of our military brothers and sisters.

SCC, I apologize if this was covered somewhere else but did you catch the last episode of "Vice" on HBO? They came to Chicago to discuss how the gangs have taken over. Did a ride along with Rick Flair himself, acting like an action movie hero. Then they went on a ride along with the gangs, pointing guns at the camera, smoking weed and talking about the the streets. The whole thing had a very Liberal slant but I loved one of the gangbangers saying, " They trying to ban assault rifles, this is Chicago, we use handgins and get up on you! We don't use no assault rifle bullshit". That flustered the "journalist" who had to say "but you use high capacity magazines, right?" Check it out. It's actually a fantastic show, if you can see through the Liberal slant of this Bill Maher produced show. They show some amazing shit from other countries that no other media outlet would dare touch.

Get the word out. A Tampa newspaper did a huge story on the worst charities in America. A quick glance show there are at least 7 police related charities in the top 20.

These are the worst charities because they are simple fronts to make money. Almost no aid actually reaches the person the charity is designed to help.

Make sure you are not donating to one of these charities.

Trustee Bob Streit (Dist. 3) lashed out at the new village administration’s attempts to introduce pension reform for elected village officials, stating that savings to the Oak Lawn’s general fund would be negligible.

In his statements, Streit suggested that Trustee Mike Carberry (Dist. 6), who is employed by Cook County, voluntarily give up his county pension benefits "if [Carberry] really wanted to save Oak Lawn taxpayers' money."

Streit said that Carberry stands to collect pension benefits from the county of up to six figures.

Carberry begged to differ.

Here is a preview of their exchange. In case you’re recording the broadcast of Tuesday’s village board meeting on Ch. 4, Streit’s and Carberry’s exchange happens about one hour and 24 minutes into the the two-hour-10 minute-long meeting.

The village board voted 4-2 to disband municipal pensions for part-time elected officials. The measure does not affect elected officials who were in office before the April 9, 2013 election.

Unfortunately I think the City of Shitcago only designates spots where trucks that have city permits can legally park and sell their products. There are a few spots on Milwaykee Ave by Lawrence but like I said, if you don't have a city permit the other trucks will dime you out

Hey 025 District Cop,
This is communist Chicago you can't just go around selling food off a truck. You need permits, inspections, businesss licenses, etc.. etc.. Good luck getting all that by this weekend! Even if you did manage to pay the right person and get all that done in 2 days, the city only allows food trucks in specific zones, and those zones are already filled! If i had a food truck and jumped through a ton of hoops and paid a ton of money, and then some out of state food truck in a "competition" took all my customers I'd be a little pissed.

Seriously? Because it's Chicago where the alleged "leaders" make the rules, decide what amendments are to be followed, what ethnic groups are to be favored, what gov't employees are to be paid overtime, what politicians can and cannot make speeches. It's not your average city. It's a few degrees away from either a Capo run organization and/or few seconds before WW2 started. Stick around. You'll understand eventually.

Don't park there! Fischman's liquors has parties that are billed as community events. These are always held to benefit Ald. John Arena. Arena and his wife are frequently at these Thursday night events. The ward office is just down the street. The truck would be ticketed faster than you could order a beer at the bar.

There wouldn't be much foot traffic there on a Saturday anyway.

Please read the article in Politico: 'Obamacare: We're just leaving'.

It describes what is happening here to City Retirees. The Employer is dis-carding the current health coverage of City Pensioners...its where Chicago Municipal and State Employees are headed, pushed into Obamacare by the politicians.....and all states will be given the opportunity to do the same.

A new book is out on this subject...explaining cities and states will force their Retirees into Obamacare cause the federal government is broke...it doesn't have the money to pay for all of the others....so, Pensioned Retirees will pay the price, their benefits will be decreased. It said Municipal Retirees will not be able to go to academic hospitals or have excellent Doctors....cause it will be too costly for Retiree.

Further, Doctor's Practices are being 'taken' over by Target, Walgreens, Hospitals and various corporations so that Doctors will be told what to do by administrators, business people or just plain goofs who don't know a thing about Doctoring....its out there folks, happening right now in our local neighborhoods. Its too late to stop Obamacare cause its already begun. Just wait until Doctors get evaluated...we know how humiliating that process can be.

The economy failed globally...Countries and Citizens are broke...where did all that money go????

Hey 025 District Cop,

As a last resort, he should just drive from police station to police station. When he arrives, explain to an officer (who is in or near his squad) the contest and ask him to send a pdt message out to all the officers in the district where he is. If he comes to 002 around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, I will look out for him and get the message out. I'm sure there are better options but I'm just throwing that out there if he has big problems finding a place to park. Also he could work into the night and feed some of these poor midnight officers who don't have many food choices!

Name one group that had their application for 501(c)(4) tax exempt status denied?

It is not the question that they were denied. They were delayed for over 3 years by repeatedly requesting additional information, not giving them the exemption. This was done over 2 election cycles , the presidential and the mid term congressional elections. During that time the conservative organizations that were stalled in getting their exemptions, lost millions and millions of donated dollars because the money was not allowed to be given without your name being attached to it. Many people did not want their name or business name attached to their contribution
