As many predicted, Madigan asks for yet another extension:
- Attorney General Lisa Madigan has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to give her an extra 30 days to decide if she will appeal a lower court’s ruling to end Illinois’ last-in-the-nation ban on carrying concealed weapons in public.
Having already been granted one deadline extension to June 24, Madigan’s office on Friday asked the nation’s high court for a “second and final” postponement to July 24 as Gov. Pat Quinn’s office reviews a bill passed on the Legislature’s final day of session last month.
While Madigan has openly opined on and pressed the Legislature to take action on other issues like same-sex marriage, the potential 2014 Democratic gubernatorial primary candidate has yet to say if she will appeal the concealed-carry case.
Quinn – who has publically urged Madigan to appeal the lower court’s ruling – along with State Police Director Hiram Grau and Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds also signed the petition for an extension.
But this is really really really the final extension, she promises! Someone has to explain the big words to Potato-Head Quinn after all - words like "shall" and "not" and "infringed."

The Democrat Pols are stalling on this to make it a key campaign issue in the Gubernatorial election. How you stand on this issue will be the litmus test, and the timid Republicans will lack the courage to stand-up for the issue. Remember after all is said and done most voters are Sheeple and do not want Concealed Carry. So anyone who is for Concealed Carry will be attacked in the Media and during the campaign by his opponent.
Why would the director of the ISP sign something like this?
Well, a clue might be that Hiram Grau is former CPD brass, Quinn is a Chicago goof, Lisa and her daddy are from Chicago (and he runs the state)and then there's Tyler Edmonds, So IL demoRAT who had ALMOST a year of legal experience (with Mayer Brown) before winning(or having the office handed to him) the election for state's attorney in 2008. He looks like a very young Quinn clone (god, or whomever, HELP US!).

They are stalling for no other reason than to get the court to give a ruling so they can say they had nothing to do with it. If you have a brain in your head do not vote for any of these mush brains for any position in Government because they can't even make a decision on something that the Supreme Court has handed down to deploy.

Quinn and Lisa should be run out of Illinois. The damn bill passed by a HUGE vote, in response to a federal court ordered ruling, and these two fucking America hating pieces of shit refuse to acknowledge this.
She is doing this so that different municipalities can enact local home rules against certain weapons allowed. They must enact these laws before concealed carry takes effect. Just giving anti gun advocates more time to have laws in place to restrict guns. If the anti gunners don't have these laws in effect before a concealed carry law takes effect anything goes. This is why she is begging for more time. Stop this bitch now!
Looks like the future candidate for governor will appeal to the US Supreme Court. That should help her chances for election.

I can see it now: Some Jane Q Public innocent gal from Rockford CCW's a Glock 19 with normal capacity magazines, meeting all the requirements of the initial IL law.
Then she makes the mistake of traveling through Crook County where one person's "normal capacity" mag is suddenly (cue the screams) an "Assault Weapon!!!"
She gets noticed, detained, arrested, tried, convicted, and now there's one more harmless-person mouth to feed in jail, one less tax payer to foot the bills, and to make room in the jail they let a convicted rapist go free.
Only in Crook County do politicians actively desire such outcomes.
