Another Nice Gesture

  • Hollywood actor and Chicago native Dennis Farina tipped his hat to the Second City posthumously today.

In lieu of flowers, anyone making a donation in honor of his death will be sending their money to the 100 Club of Chicago. The organization helps families financially after they have lost a loved one in the line of duty. These are families of firefighters, police officers among others.
Thank you Detective Farina.

Dennis was a great man Never forgot he bled blue!

(OT) A couple things I would like to say 1st, to many of my fellow brothers and sisters, don't worry about "trying to find out" who runs SCC! It would like when you found out about Santa! Here's the answer repeated before ready? SCC is he thoughts you have, inspiration, a quick laugh, sarcasm, silliness, great information, the blog is run by the "spirits of he air," people who really care about the hard working coppers, wherever, whoever, SCC is they spend many hours on their own time putting this great blog together! If you disagree with the blog that's ok this is America, but why send words that are unconscionable for print, and wonder why the spirits don't print them!

How about a "thanks for everything you do SCC" as for me if I knew who he/them/she was I would buy them all dinner, for exposing the truth, making us laugh, thank you from an avid reader veteran copper!

Police: 'Kid cop' busted again for posing as officer In 2009, Richardson was so convincing that he was able to sneak into a South Side police station and even went on patrol with a real officer for more than five hours. This time, he didn't get past a uniform store clerk, authorities said.

Richardson, now 19, was arrested soon after he walked into the VCG Uniform store in the 5000 block of West Irving Park Road posing as an Englewood District officer Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.

What's the deal with Female Lt's at headquarters, is it a prerequisite for the rank that they be total biotches? Simple common courtesy seems to be thrown out the window. No this is not a misogynistic man's opinion, if a the males in the rank did the same thing collectively I would also point this out. Just a simple observation.

100 Club has volunteer serving as director, not a guy who does it for steak dinner money at Gene and Georgettis. PC makes more at the memorial fund than I made in salary. Big heart, huh? 100 Club is all of Cook County, not just CPD.

Dear Uninformed,

The "volunteer" director of the 100 Club earns $153K a year. Some people don't like PC, I get it. However, the CPD Memorial Fund has helped numerous officers, including myself. They were there when the 100 Club wasn't. Two great organizations doing great things. Please, get your facts straight when posting

Did you interrupt the constant visits from their significant others and other personal business? That tends to make some of them biotchy.

If granted, maybe the star could have his number on it so both careers are represented.

You are right. I hate Phil Cline. And, he is making 150K plus his pension, so he gets paid to play Mr. Wonderful. If you knew him as I know him, you would know he is a pos.
