McCormick Place Riot? (UPDATE)
Anyone hear about this one?
- I read on the local news on Yahoo the other day. It stated that there was a riot on the loading docks. Made reference that there were over 100 gangbangers hired to help take down the print show. Went on to say that some supervisor was hit in the head with a 2/4. The report was up on the cbs2.com site.
Went back later on to see if there was anymore info. The story was pulled down off there website. Just thought you would like to know.
We guess they wouldn't want the convention business to think things were getting out of control, would they?
UPDATE: Here's one of the links.

- CHICAGO (CBS) – A trade show exhibitor was hit with a 2×4 at McCormick Place on Thursday, and two other people were injured, when apparent gang members who had been hired as day laborers began brawling on a loading dock.

CHICAGO (CBS) – A trade show exhibitor was hit with a 2×4 at McCormick Place on Thursday, and two other people were injured, when apparent gang members who had been hired as day laborers began brawling on a loading dock.
About 100 day laborers had been hired to close the Print 2013 expo on Thursday, and trade union members told CBS 2 some of those laborers were street gang members who began brawling on the loading dock.
One exhibitor was hit in the head with a 2×4, and two other people were injured in the brawl — either by a board with protruding nails, or by a knife.
The injured exhibitor was supervising the moving of the contents of a display booth at the time.
Sources said it’s the first time rival street gangs have been involved in a brawl at McCormick Place.
Police would not confirm gang involvement in the altercation, but said one of the people who was injured refused to cooperate with police, or identify his attacker, and was the subject of an arrest warrant himself.
Meanwhile, the CTA Board President was lobbying on behalf of gangs.
Godinez at the Department of Corrections is allowing the gang leaders special privileges once again while shutting the media out.
And our tax dollars are paying gang bangers to riot on the McCormick Place loading docks and hit exhibitors in the head with 2x4's.
From the Mag Mile to our Convention Centers... Chicago is one of a kind.
Who ordered CBS to pull the story down?
Why was it pulled down?
That's what happens when you try and hire rats to do work. All they know is dope, sex and violence.

Now you get the Page Not Found message
Channel 2 did a decent job of scrubbing it from their site but, for the moment, Google still indexed the headline "Sources: Trade Show Exhibitor Hurt In Gang Brawl At McCormick" and lead paragraph: "About 100 day laborers had been hired to close the Print 2013 expo on Thursday, and trade union members told CBS 2 some of those laborers were street gang members who began brawling on the loading dock."
Actually the origian lead paragraph seems to have been "A trade show exhibitor was hit with a 2×4 at McCormick Place on Thursday, and two other people were injured, when apparent gang members who had been hired as day laborers began brawling on a loading dock." This site still has the intro and (now dead) link to Channel 2's site: http://chicago.cityandpress.com/node/6789985

This is what's left when they won't hire union.
Enjoy.
>>>>Made reference that there were over 100 gangbangers hired to help take down the print show.<<<<
Hmmm??? That doesn't sound quite plausible. That is, if anyone knows how McCormick Place is run, to wit: You'd have more luck getting away with non-union gangbangers doing manual labor at Teamsters HQ in Wash DC than at McCormick Place. You can't even unplug an electrical cord in your display, a union sparky does it *or else*, and nobody moves nothing, not even a table. And *everyone* knows it.
So maybe that's why it was taken down: Some non-Chicagoan twit 'cub reporter', or fem reportette, falls for a bs story, then boss in the know sees it, has fit, and pulls story asap.
The old National sporting goods show had thousands of firearms. Imagine how long they would last with the gangbangers!
Chicago is well on its way to being the next Detroit. My last two trips i avoided the city but for visits to court for clients. Why should I pay for parking extortion?
That's 100 DUMMYCRATIC votes. Who are they all connected to?
"alright boys, break's over"
How come the gang bangers are given special opportunities at jobs when kids that stay in school and stay out of trouble can't find a job. Oh ya it's Chicago.
How does it feel, media? How does it feel to be the whores of politicians? Do you like to do what they say and cover up stories when your profession is to publish the truth?
Do you feel a little dirty? Like you need a shower? Probably not. You're not reporters so much as propaganda agents for the left. Bow to your masters and crawl like the worms you are.
This type of violence is similar to the 1920's when White ethnic gangs began to take over the docks and Unions in New York.
Awesome posts from SCC readers.
Outside of Orwell, there is no such thing as a memory hole.
May that always be true.
Didn't they ban 2x4's after Derrion Albert?
Asking Chicago media to help with reporting these incidents is like rescuing a drowning victim by throwing them a couple concrete slabs.
hahahahahahahahahaha If Organized crime still ran McCormick place the offenders would be in the concrete business at the bottom of lake michigan.
Where is the video?
Rahm is having his minions scrub every reference to the "riot" at McCormick Place...
Rahm has made phone calls to the local media outlets to keep this suppressed.
But...
Rahm is doing everything to keep the sucide with a copper's gun under questionable circumstances hotted-up?
Heh... Local media is the equivalent of an badly aging, badly enhanced, far fallen porn actress reduced to taking on multiple ATM beat-down roles to keep her name "out there..."
Collusive, hypocritical, picking and choosing whores.
Ok! I think we get the idea now. Don't need to post the article 15 times.
I love Chicago!
Poverty pimps always crying " give gangbangers jobs and education and violence will stop ".
So they drop out of school and commit mayhem at work.
Affirmative action: must hire criminals. Amerikuh!
What a way to represent the city by brawling in the presence of many out of towners who just may pump money into our economy. Welcome to Chicago folks.
To bad the Alpha Girls weren't called in....they would have never allowed the situation to get out of control
This has been happening with the ready-men for years. They are allowed access to sensitive areas, all come in with back packs and there is usually at least one fight per show. This time it got some attention because a trade show manager got hurt. The security has been cut to the bone at McCormick Place.
They took it down because that is't the story. If you weren't there, then it's not wise to comment on it. The real story is why the nest of all union workers is being invaded by immigrant laborers who are getting paid dimes on the dollar.
Thanks for the info, without you I would not know a great deal of what happens in Chicago. Plus without your creative flair and many of your commenters I would be only scared and mad, but because of it and them, I do have smile and a giggle too! Thank you and STAY SAFE.
The press in this town is chicken shit.
Just sent emails to the tip lines of the Chicago broadcast news agencies in town. Basically just sent them a link with a question "Is there any truth to this?"

I have had to do Labor Ready in times of desperation, if you nice officers just rolled by before they opened, and during the time they were dispatching, you'd find cocaine, crack, weed, outstanding warrants, etc. How many times was my life threatened over at minimum wage 6 hour job. The guys could never finish a shift if they heard there was another one that night, they'd insist on being let out early with a full day's pay so they could refill their bloodstream with drugs.
It is one of the worst things ever to subject yourself to if you have any common decency, methinks they found these clowns there.
Thought that was union? Guess its all GD now
Sources said it’s the first time rival street gangs have been involved in a brawl at McCormick Place.
===============
no doubt it will not be the last time if they keep putting members of rival street gangs on the same work crew.
I heard the gangbangers were friends of Rick Simons.
....and they wonder why there are no jobs for them? They have killed the goose that laid those golden eggs.
To Godinez:
The barn boss is a thing of the past.
The only surprise here is that it didnt happen sooner. Freeman Exhibit Services is notorious for hireing the dregs of society for cheap labor....gangbangers, drug addicts, drunks, and other various forms of criminals. Nobodys too good for Freeman as long as they save a quick buck. Hey media lapdogs, are you going to cover this or are you just going to wait until next time somebody gets killed. I hope the exhibitor that was injured gets a fat check out of all this.
What the hell were they thinking when they hired these gang bangers. Did they get the jobs because they brought in vote for the Democratic Committeeman? Were they owed anything?
When I was in college in the 70's at UIC and City Colleges I did grunt work but never at McCormack Place because that was a union lockdown then. We moved boxes, dragged cables; I had learned some wiring skills so we did some early cable TV work.
Clean cut college kids and a few hippie types of all colors and never had even a cross word between up. I even drove some of the black kids home and they didn't want me to get out of the car in their neighborhood.
Stay Safe. It was an education. (Yes I did try some weed; I guess I was too square for it as it had no effect.)
Cultural bias, it's normal in poor urban african american neighborhoods to plays ruff.
yep around 10pm Thursday 2 fire units and ambo on scene before 1st CPD arrived and then only one female officer and then a sgt.One "vitim" stabbed with wood broken off a pallet. Original call was for person stabbed.
"How come the gang bangers are given special opportunities"

They were day laborers. Anyone can take their chances on getting work for a day, even kids who stayed in school

You are half right. Have you ever heard of Ready Men? They are the cheap slave labor used to move empty crates and about 90% of them are gangbangers or ex gangmembers and thats a fact. Shit, most Teamsters down at McCormick have rap sheets. Next time do your homework before spouting off pompously you asshat.
Come on people you know it wasn't a fight between rival gangs. It was the DePaul basketball team checking out the new area, where their new stadium built for them.
Heh... Local media is the equivalent of an badly aging, badly enhanced, far fallen porn actress reduced to taking on multiple ATM beat-down roles to keep her name "out there..."

100 DUMMYCRTIC Votes!
Wrong math, on Election Day years ago, when Election Day was just the one day we would arrest gang bangers. They would have 3-4-5 or 6 voting receipts in their pockets.
God only knows what is going on now with early voting, motor voter and no ID necessary. Thank-you DUMMYCRATS.
what's a 2x4 ?
something they used to use in building made out of wood
Nuisance businesses collaborating with gangbangers. The pols have been revealed and now businesses.
Move along, move along. Nothing to see here.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know that.
Hmmm... ALL WORK done at Mccormick is done by Union workers. 100 guys riot, guy gets hit in head withboard and spiked object and no RD number is pulled? BS...

Hmmm. Disinformation has begun.
ALL WORK is no longer done by union workers.
Concessions were made, in order to keep convention business from circling the drain.
Oh, and newsflash, exhibitors are now allowed to plug in their own extension cords, too. Times have changed.
This type of violence is similar to the 1920's when White ethnic gangs began to take over the docks and Unions in New York.
The 1920's was a long time ago and today we just have shitheads fighting over nonsense.
I spent several years working for staffing companies. They get around McCormick place and thousands of other union shops by hiring outside temporary staffing companies to do short term jobs. Unions can't stop it especially of they needed 100 employes for one day. In the past Daleys friend Duff (his momma) owned the staffing companies used for short term jobs.
They pulled the story down because it was BS. The fight was one knucklehead stab another knucklehead with a jagged piece of wood. End of story.
