Gang Connections Everywhere

  • Battling gang violence has been one of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s top priorities.

But one of Emanuel’s top appointees, CTA Chairman Terry Peterson, appears to have taken a different tack in the mid-1990s: Lobbying for the early release of the imprisoned leader of the Gangster Disciples — one of the largest and deadliest street gangs in Chicago, the Better Government Association has learned.

[...] The BGA recently obtained a letter — on City Council letterhead and bearing the names of Peterson and Streeter — that asks the chairman of the prisoner review board for Hoover’s release on parole and that portrays Hoover in glowing terms.

Peterson, who is in the process of being reappointed to the CTA board by Emanuel, declined an interview request. But in a statement, he denied writing or even signing the letter.

Don't they always? This isn't exclusive to Hoover, who has quite a following among the aldrecreatures - he must spread a lot of money around. Cultivating gang ties seems to be almost a hobby among the City Council, dating back decades, even before Capone who used to collect aldercreatures and congresscritters the way some people collect stamps.

I worked the case that helped put this felon and his crew away.
Glowing terms is not exactly how I would describe him, the cpd officer who was helping protect him, or the rest of his criminal organization.
Only the corrupt would plead on his behalf. And, no; I don't care how long ago it was or wasn't. There is NO defense for this man.

Thus be it ever...

In a city where vast swaths of the inhabitants have a vested interest in seeing The Police tied in knots at both ends by the death cults operating with impunity on the West and South sides while making serious inroads on the beloved, money making North side and the craven, shit-assed politicians who pander to and cultivate political and financial ties with the death cultists, their affiliates and sympathizers.

How many search warrants have turned up confidential Police documents in gang leaders and alder-critter houses over the years?

How many politicians and members of the phony, make believe clergy been captured on phone intercepts laughing up their sleeves about how City Hall is running interference for them?

Heh... But it's The greedy, brutal, racist, out of control Police who are the problem in Chicago...

Daley said so...

Rahm says so...

The public co-signs this in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Heh...

Yeah, Larry Hoover is such an upstanding citizen that on the day of his Federal Trial Verdict in '97(?) the U.S. Marshals were guarding the basement of the Fed Bldg and the prisoner transport bus with fucking MP5s, in case any of his Homies tried bustin' him out.

I know they were MP5s 'cause they were pointed at me -- stopped in my gd tracks & hands up, as did my boss (Co Owner), -- situation resolved, guns lowered when the Marshals saw our Security Badges (we had Clearance for entire Bldg). But they eyeballed us 'till we got to his car and drove out of the bldg. Only later did I find out they were waiting for nice-guy Larry Hoover.

And I don't think 'reformed or upstanding' anything requires Submachine Guns.

(we got there real early, +/- 0730, no bus, no guards, no fed workers in bldg then, only construction guys)

Coppers are not jumping like they once were, the health care is not boys and girls contractual, just an agreement between rahm and the union! So in essence do you trust in that rahm will not pull the health care,as he is doing with the coppers that retired without 55 and out? Nope sorry I am 56 years old, in a unit, work out in good shape making lots of extra cash,so sorry, get all the special I want due to seniority, work with a bunch of good people, still enjoy the circus, not the exempt structure but the street coppers are still great to work with! I know of at least three lounges/taverns in 007 and a few in 006 which are owned by gangs and more then one night club in 010 that is gang affiliated and have some politician ownership that are allowed to operate beyond the law . In fact, one club actually held a party for Supt Rodriguez when the club was not licensed.

This is what Rahm needs for a chance at the sparsely interested black vote come Feb 2015.
According to Peterson, Hoover did more for the black community than anyone,he solely created the equivalant of CompStat for dope dealers," crime was down" under Hoovers rein during his call for the historic cease fire(for about a week).
Along with Bishop Brazier Blvd, Rahm might even give dead Fred Hampton a Monroe street rename too.
Desperate measures for the times. Why would Rahm not respond to Petersons CTA Bd reappointment?

The Reader a couple years back had an extensive article on criminal street enterprises and current elected officials. Surprisingly all named were democrats and served communities which were impacted the most by aggravated batteries with firearms, homicides, drug addiction, illegal narcotic activity and overall economic despair. Named were sitting U.S. Congressmen, aldercreatures both current and past and high ranking county officials. And they just keep getting elected time and time again. I think their voting base has no regard for their plight there are in. As long as they get da check, character doesn't affect their electoral decision making. Civilized societies and righteous peoples would condemn such associations between criminals and politicians. But money talks and the doing the right thing walks.

FIVE HOURS, 29 MINUTES: That's How Long The 19th District Lacked Cops Overnight
What a crap night. You got played. Again.

It's hard to believe that the police commander, police captain, and our alderman have the gall to stand in front of us and continue with their lies while giving us police "protection" like they did last night.

If you happen to be the gentleman in a suit who was reportedly forced to withdraw money from an ATM in Wrigleyville; if you were that victim on Roscoe and Elaine Place that a witness reported having their phone stolen; if you were that woman calling for help at Barry and Sheridan; if you were the resident of the 700 block of Roscoe who reported that a group of males had broken into a fenced area behind your home; if you were that man who was seen being beaten up in the alley of 917 W. Fletcher, we just want you to know that your calls for help were received. There simply weren't any officers to send your way. Oh, they showed up eventually, but you probably had other things to to do. Like call your bank, bandage your face, maybe curl up in bed and wonder what the fuck has happened to this neighborhood.

Maybe you all should have followed Captain Mike Ryan's advice and asked for a supervisor? (Sarcasm)
Red zones are areas that had no beat cars assigned
to protect them overnight. Result: Our precious officers
had to leave our area to handle calls in the red zones.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is how the Chicago Police Department keeps crime "down" and how they can claim that "crime is down 20% this year" in the 19th district. Don't staff enough police officers to respond to the thefts, robberies, and batteries that are happening. The victims will eventually go home and there will be no report and "no crime."

The overnight shift that ran late Saturday into Sunday is a beautiful demonstration of how effective that demonic, citizen-harming, thug-enriching strategy is.

The district went into Radio Assignment Pending (RAP) status, meaning cars were not available to promptly handle assignments, at 12:15AM. It remained in RAP status until 5:44AM. Five-and-a-half hours of long-delayed responses. This is the seventh Sunday morning in a row that our district ran out of cops.

Last night, a Saturday night in a huge district with two "entertainment districts," at least four of our district's 15 beats did not have cars assigned to them at all. CWB believes that more than four beats were without coverage, but we have been unable to document that.

The Clark Street "entertainment detail" consisted of a sergeant and two units, which was overwhelmed by Wrigleyville drunks shortly after 2AM. Nearly every one of the district's precious few cars had to back up the detail on Clark Street for almost 90 minutes.

A further result of understaffing is that the cars that are assigned to our late night robbery and crime-ridden area had to leave our neighborhood to handle calls in Lincoln Square, Uptown, and Lincoln Park.

All while victims here are were reportedly robbed, beaten, trespassed, and all that jazz with no officers available for timely responses.

No report? No crime. Who knows, after last night, crime might even be "down" 21% in the 19th district.

The entire post.... sheer beauty.

Unfortunately this is where policing is going in Chicago.

Witness the "pilot" program about to take place in 012. Using the bullshit excuse of "building comradery" McShitnuts is attempting to install "sector" policing in Chicago.

The point of "sector" policing is to take available resources and send them all to the violent areas of the city, or district in this case. The point being, since they refuse to employ the necessary amount of police to cover the entire city or district, they move the police over to where the violent crime happens to give the appearance that they're saturating the area with police.

Nevermind that they just took the police away from every other part of the city or district to put them all in the shit area, that doesn't count.

Taking officers out of a geographically small area such as a beat means they can now be sent to linger in the shit zone of a larger area and leave the nice areas with zero police to prevent crime.

The idea is, they're trying to sell the taxpaying public that police presence doesn't deter crime, at least in the nice areas. That's why they take the police away.

The ghetto sues to get more police, Emanuel gives it to them and steals those police from the actual taxpayers that PAY for police in this city.

And he get's those idiots to re-elect him over and over again, while they get home invaded, beaten and robbed.

shame news media can't break sealed records like they did to Jack Ryan that would've beat him in senate race .

What a shame citizens like you are silly enough to think Ryan had a chance in that election at all. By the way, where is he now?

When can PPOs start taking advantage of the educational benefit? Do you have to be off probation or just out of the Academy to have them pay?

I want to start my Masters.

I grew up in Downstate Illinois, where we didn't get what we needed because Shitcago got it all. My wife wants to visit Shitcago to see the museums and shows. I flatly refused. I'd rather go to that bastion of crime, Washington, DC, rather than enter the free-fire zone of Shitcago. At least, not until I am free to carry my 870 (not a pistol) to protect myself. By the way, I'm a liberal. I'm just not stupid.

You're not just stupid, you're LIBERAL STUPID.

Last I heard, the city is pulling that benefit for masters degrees. City says you don't need a masters to be on this job, so if you want one you have to pay for it. Don't know if there'll be a grandfather clause, but if you want a masters degree start saving your $$$. No word if they're getting rid of the 4 year degree benefit.

Dosen't anyone remember the (GD) Development in the early 90s. All the black politicians were behind it. They said that it stood for GROTH AND DEVELOPMENT when it was comprised of all a Gangster Disciples. 200 to 500 of them were bussed downtown to march on city hall and through the loop. All the guetto tact teams were put in uniform and sent downtown to monitor the boys. While try we're downtown there were no drug sales and very little rimes in the neighborhoods.

What a brilliant response. I bet put in the right circumstance you start going off about putting your family first and the dept does this and that..blah, blah, blah..the PPO goes to senior officers to ask about benefits and you tell him learn the job first. Maybe you should be a boss. You already demonstrate the lack of logic they find so attractive.

Raise the age to 65 and I'll be here another 9 years.

That would not be a smart thing to do. The average life expectancy of those cops who retire at 63 is only 5 years. The job is just not healthy for men. Get out as soon as you can.

Every 10 years or so, there's a lot of noise because the media sniffs around and says, "GAWD! You Chicago Coppers Are So OLD!"

Yet people shit talk about "Why do YOU GUYS get to retire in your 50's and we have to work until we're in our 70's? Fuck you COP!"

This hatred and jealousy is typical.

Policemen die 10 to 15 years sooner than their age peers in the civilian world.

20 to 40 years of stress, grief, terror, horror and flat out aggravation takes a toll on a man's body, mind and spirit.

Don't get us started about the cancer and upper respiratory ailment cluster Police facilities we work at...

If there were anything remotely resembling justice, mayors, superintendents and aldermen past and resent would be on the hook both criminally and civilly for the Policemen who are are chronically ill if not dying or dead because of being exposed to the ghastly shit in these places.

Irony... Chicago has gamed a lot of safeguards to prevent proper investigation into our work environment and since "It's only Cops," nobody gives a fuck.

Heh... Be on good terms with your primary care physician and get tested for everything while you STILL have medical coverage... A lot of people are getting their jollies on the prospect of Policemen being naked and alone in this regard.

Anyway... Everyone is fixated on wringing their so called "money's worth" ont of Policemen which is why there is such a spirit of "don't give no fuck" when the question is raised about "Those Old-Assed Grumpy Cops" being essentially forced to overstay their law enforcement sojourn out of political spite.

Pay scale should top out in 15 years.

70% to 80% pension at 20 years and 50 years of age.

Oh wait... NYPD is doing this and they're the golden example of the moment, right?

One of the best events of my illustrious career was getting a call to bring my tact team to the federal building. Once there we were told we were going to be involved in the escort of hoover to Meig's Field. It was obviously high alert as they thought someone might try springing him. Got him there safely and watched his jaw drop to his ankles when he saw the Chinook helicopter waiting to take him away. We watched in awe as the helicopter took off, then while it was about 500 yards off shore suddenly the rear ramp opened. We thought for sure they were going to throw him off, but alas it wasn't to happen, instead it just continued to the maximum security federal pen in Terra Haute.

-------------------------

Has nothing to do with being a boss or whatever point your trying to make. I come from a police family and was taught to keep your fucking mouth shut and your ears and eyes open and learn this job. Too many fucking gen y spoiled brats getting on this job to pop out kids and be inside or more worried about what fucking school they're going to enroll in. Can't teach them anything, they know everything, and not even off probation going on a blog to see what benefits "Me" . Nothing like keeping it on the down low and asking a fellow coworker or your FTO. No fucking shame.

And if you knew anything, a "Boss" was someone from chicago who was thre real police and knew the job, a supervisor is a college grad spineless puke from winnetka.

^This. The problem is people are more concerned about how something benefits them, or how they're perceived by their peers and society, than they are in doing the right thing. "What's in it for me?" Welcome to Amerika.
