We've seen the number 24 popping up here and there, and it's easy to imagine one or more casualties got lost in the shuffle - in fact, we wouldn't be surprised if someone was trying to lose one or two in the shuffle, especially after you get 13 at one location. A miscount might be grounds for a promotion at this point.

How many of the suspected shooters are believed to be mentally ill people that should be medicated and hospitalized?
I know you blue-shirts are strung out thinner than dental floss, but, honestly, are even 3000 more cops going to make a difference on the big picture? More arrests would mean clogged courts, with shysters on and in front of the bench playing the continuance game, wearing down complainants and witnesses until they stop showing up. Jam-packed CCJ issues more I-bonds, SAO plea bargains or drops charges, if you got felony charges in the first place. Lather, rinse, repeat: ol' boy's back on the street. If by some miracle, dude got some time, Gov. Pumpkinhead gives him (or her) early release because he's closing the prisons. Boy, 15, fatally shot in back on South Side

A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed on the South Side Friday afternoon, police said.
The boy was found with a gunshot wound to the back about 1:35 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Vernon Street, police said. The boy was dead at the scene.

LOL. Courts clogged up. Imagine if a 17 y.o. was still a juvenile. Maybe Rahm, Dart, Judge Evans and Prekwinkle can all get together and make all kids under 27 charged as a juveniles. It only makes sense since they can be on the parents health care till then. At a church tonight, hundreds of miles from Illinois, during the post-sermon petitions a prayer was said for "the Chicago shooting victims." Wow!!! It's news everywhere and needs more than prayer. This is the best example of how the whole country (with the exception of some Chicagoans) sees this as gravely unacceptable and in dire need of radical solutions.
