I'm sure someone knows where this brother in blue works. Let's hope and pray for him. Let's get the ball rolling for a benefit for this officer and brother in blue.

Officer Valadez was murdered over 4 years ago. Why has it taken so long to try these last 2 defendants? It is wrong and unfair to Officer Valadez's family, friends and co workers that we have had to wait so long for these scumbags to come to trial.

And the scumbag defense lawyer will try and find a way to blame this on the victim-officer.

Yep, cover your shirts, you
don't want to generate any
sympathy for these bozos from a police- hating jury.
Too bad the death-penalty
has been abolished here in
Illinois.

I hope for a guilty verdict, but with anita alvarez taking the lead my faith is shaken. Lets not forget how she is no fan of the police

I attempted to sit in on the trial and was told by a Cook County Sgt. That I could not go inside. There was plenty of room inside to sit and I have no idea why I was turned away. To show respect for the family I did not push the issue, but I plan on stopping in again tomorrow.

I have never had any problems with the sheriffs department and they have always treated me in a professional manner.

If anyone is planning on going to 26 and cal tomorrow stop by 606 and show your support

I've been to almost every courthouse in Chicago as well as Skokie and the deputies at 26 and Cal are top notch. I'm sure there was a reason. Wonder what it was though. I know with other PO murders the judges have the Sheriffs enforce some crazy stuff. They really don't have a choice.

No, the real problem is not that she is not a friend of the police. She is taking this case to enhance her standing as a friend of the police.

The danger is that she is an administrator and she will muck up the case with her grandstanding. A case of this importance should be put in the hands of the most seasoned and competent ASAs with experience prosecuting homicides.

Anita, go back to your office and work the crossword puzzle.

They are supposed to present a good and legal defense. They are not supposed to pervert this justice system to line their own pockets.

Don't tell me about the "good" lawyers. You never hear them chastise the "bad" lawyers and point out the criminal means they use to free their clients. Much like the "good Muslims" they sit back and watch the "bad" Muslims. Both benefit.

There are some good and ethical lawyers. They are poor and as rare as unicorns.

The court services part of the CCSD is nothing but a bunch of political hacks. They are security guards and NOT the police!

I have had past problems with said at trials of slain PO's and in relation to carrying y weapon in court.

Be advised, the robe sets the rules,if the robe decides no weapons in the court room then it's no weapons. No body enjoys telling you to wake your sleeping dog a** up,stop with the foul mouth and act like you have more sense than the rats...but I have a job to do.Have a bar and two stars and have NEVER given an P.O. a hard time and seldom received one but I have run into you at times (WILL NOT follow direction or comply....and I blame your mommy) and I"ve heard all your war stories and real Po-lice BS.In the future please save it for the tavern or the high school girls.I have been stabbed, shot at,beat up,and worked the street in every CPD district(Warrants/forcible evictions) before working the courts. I"ve been to the circus and saw the elephant, yet here comes one more clown who feels an inch bigger calling me a security guard.XOXO from a Deputy Sheriff

Im a CCSD court services "political hack". Cause I'm sure there are none in the CPD, right? You're a fucking stroke, Mr. Real policeman. Even though I am not the "police" I'm sure I have more arrests than many of the police working desks/stations by choice. And i call bullshit on being denied entry with your weapon at 26th and Cal. I wish I knew who u were cause when I'm on-scene and u need help I'll make sure to take out my cell and call the police instead of offer my security guard assistance. I have always gone out of my way to help any CPD at work. Despite u being a douche bag, I still will.

Lighten up, first timers. I worked in 640 for 16 years. Anita Alvarez is one of the finest trial lawyers in the CCSAO. She tried many of my cases when she was in the Gang Unit.

Now go out and charge hard after those tenth of a gram drop cases.

Closing arguments for Kevin Walker, the driver, will begin at 0930hrs tomorrow morning and then the jury will go into deliberations. Christopher Harris' jury will then come in at 1230hrs for the last two witnesses and his closing arguments will probably be Wednesday morning. Neither defense has any witnesses.
