Coppers Hurt in Crash
- Nine people – including four police officers – were injured in a three-vehicle crash early Monday on the Far South Side.
A male southbound in a Nissan Altima in the 10200 block of South Indianapolis struck an unmarked police vehicle parked during a traffic stop about 12:05 a.m., causing a chain reaction, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
The Nissan hit the squad car from behind, pushing the police vehicle into a Chevy Tahoe, Estrada said. An additional squad car assisting during the traffic stop was also struck during the crash.
Police said Monday morning four police officers were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Speedy recovery wished to all involved.

Well wishes for optimum healing. Thanks for your service, Officers. Godspeed to you all.
Problem? How so? The mayor has protection that raises to the highest levels of the land. McCarthy, well not so much. Truth be told, the world of crime fighting would probably survive super cop going under.
Gotta be careful out there. the city is full of crazies. May the involved offers recover quickly.
I'm glad the officers are going to be OK!
Many keeses for them!
Do South Siders like keeses!
North Siders do!
Slow down. Stop wrecking those cars. There are "NO" replacements. +
Only a 10-1 is worthy of racing.
God bless and get well soon officers.
Some idiot female on facebook East Side discussion group writes "the police shouldn't be able to pull people over on Indianapolis Blvd, that street is just to busy of a street to do that". What world do these people live in? OMG
Recover well...and don't come back until the snow's all gone!

Heal well our brothers on da' job.
My money says that the guy that hit the squad cars was a DUI.

Take it easy and recover! Don't rush, it will all be here when you get back. Get well officers. B.L. if you need anything call!
I want to take a moment to thank all those involved in the accident in 004 District off of Indianapolis Blvd. Especially to CFD and all the officers that responded to assist. Great job. Simply put, the officers injured, will heal.
Many will never get to see what occurred. Citizens brought blankets from their homes to cover the injured officers. Sergeants controlled the scene and arranged transport. And a sea of blue covered the streets as officers poured in to assist, show their support and later escort the injured officers for medical treatment.
On this Sunday night, there was no media blitz. There was no top brass seeking the limelight. Good sergeants assisted on scene, and one amazing sergeant waited with us two of us in one of the ERs to make sure we were well treated and ok. One concerned "boss" that stopped by just to check on us, no dog and pony show. No fluff, just our brothers in blue there for us.
To the many officers that paved the way and for your assistance in that "sea of blue”
On behalf of the injured officers,
Thank you.
a humbled PO
