Coppers Injured

  • A woman attempted to flee the scene after crashing into a police car in Calumet Heights Sunday night, police said

Around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, a police SUV responding to an emergency call was driving northbound on South Jeffery Boulevard when it was struck by a silver sedan heading westbound on 89th Street. The crash forced forced the police SUV into another SUV and caused the police vehicle to flip over

Non-life-threatening injures, but enough to rattle you around pretty good. Best wishes to the injured.

Seeing as how the injuries aren't that bad, it is better than a summer furlough. Remember, all time on IOD is tax free.

Remember seat belts ladies and gentlemen, the two officers did and it probably saved them from an ejection. We all need to make it home at the end of the tour, our safety first and foremost. God bless

That is one SUV that will not be much use, until it gets repaired.

Once up-righted, we had it towed to the lot. We're writing it up as parking lot damage. R-3 changed a few bulbs and it's back in service...the 'Pride of the Fleet!"

Time will heal most of the injuries.
Take your time...heal well our brothers in blue. God Bless.

This is what happens when you don't have sufficient manpower in Dists and P.O.'s are forced to answer calls out of Beats,Sectors and travel across the Districts. If we have adequate manpower you should be no further than 4-5 blocks away from everything. Get Well wishes to the P.O.'s and PLEASE back each other up and give slow downs.

Haven't seen much on here about the female vice officer punched in the face. I hear she is still in the hospital. Hope she is recovering quickly. Also, nothing about the POS who punched her. On parole for several felonies.

As was once told to me after my on duty accident.... A little paint and some bondo...that truck will be back in the fleet soon (probably as a VRI car)! My best to the officers involved. May your injuies heal without incident, but please enjoy the summer as it is all tax free while on IOD.

According to a supervisor of hers, she went thru testing and everything looks good, no skull fractures, bleeds or anything life threatening. She was released from hospital today, but will be off for awhile. POS arrested and in custody. Hope they hammer this savage with a long sentence.
