FOP Tries a Last Shot

  • The union that represents Chicago police wants to halt the release of internal investigation files for alleged police misconduct.

In an injunction filed Monday in Cook County circuit court, the Fraternal Order of Police claims the release of the information would “unfairly and vexatiously harm the individual officers named therein.” The FOP wants to keep the city from releasing the lists until it has reviewed them for accuracy, according to the injunction. The union claims in the injunction that it’s aware of at least 12 officers whose names are improperly included in some of the files.

A three-judge panel of the Illinois Appeals Court ruled in March that such files would not be exempt from the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. The appellate court’s ruling found that records related to citizen complaints of police misconduct are a matter of public record.
Given that sloppy paperwork that is typical of any large bureaucracy, the City of Chicago has taken notoriously inaccurate record keeping and shoddy paperwork to a science. If the FOP found 12 officers with inaccurate records, you can bet that there are at least 120.

We even heard that there was once a mayor who kept almost no records at all of crooked contracts and such, and when he got a friendly doctor to say he was a bit forgetful, there was hardly a scrap of paper to hang him on or contradict his nonexistent testimony.

As we said - a long shot, but one that could save a hundred or more guys and gals from being painted with an undeserved brush.

Here is the kicker: per Article VIII, section 8.2 of the contract, all CR files will be destroyed in 5 years. IAD has been lazy and violated the contract by NEVER destroying files. Guess what, if the file exists-it gets turned over by FOIA. Files from the early 90s which should have been shredded years and years ago are being handed over.

Today (Tuesday) is supposed to be a demonstration asking for McCarthy's resignation at Headquarters.

Do you think this group has any weight to push the agenda? If so, do they have a viable candidate they want to see replace him?

If McCarthy resigns, will they finally get a real cop superintendent OR will they just get another razzle-dazzle, "drinking buddy" politician?

It's time for REAL leadership. This could be Rahm's crowning decision to hire a REAL Copper's Copper. His poll numbers would surge.

Politically - if Rahm is as smart as he thinks he is, this is a time for him to put in Sheriff Arpaio and say - Chicago is going to be cleaned up once and for all.

A guy like Arpaio wouldn't take crap from anyone and probably push out half the merit white shirts.

Now THAT is real leadership and THAT will NEVER happen in Chicago.

WHY? Because Rahm isn't as politically astute as he - and his media cheerleaders - thinks he is.

FOI ought to be close to sacred. There should be far fewer hidden government records.

If there are mistakes in the records the records can and should be corrected.

It is not like it is going to make all that much difference one way or the other anyway.

July 24, USA Today – (Pennsylvania) Pa. doctor shoots patient who killed caseworker. A psychiatric outpatient opened fire July 24 in an office at the Mercy Wellness Center of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, killing a caseworker and injuring a doctor who reportedly exchanged gunfire with the suspect, wounding the outpatient.

This doctor probably saved many more lives with his actions!

OT: Did anybody catch the bit in the news the other day regarding the auto fuel E-15? The Ethanol people (corn growers, ethanol lobby, large agricultural conglomerates, i.e. ADM etc.) are on a push in favor of E-15 as a new widely available motor fuel for cars, small trucks etc.

But the petroleum industry is against it, that means 5% less gasoline as ethanol is increases from the max now of 10%. And auto makers are against it as it presents more problems for cars. Ethanol (alcohol) absorbs water and if there are problems with your car the warranty likely won't cover it if it can be traced to E15 fuel.

Then I read that none other than old guard Alderman Ed Burke is not only in favor of E15 but wants to introduce a City ordinance mandating that gas stations install an E15 pump at stations in Chicago. All stations that sell medium to high volume of gas would be required to install an E15 pump.

Why do you think that is? Maybe Ed Burke is suddenly an environmentalist and wants to stamp out global warming. Or maybe the ethanol lobby has gotten to him in the form of campaign contributions already made or yet to come.

I smell a rat. This shit doesn't just happen out of the blue. Not if Ed Burke is involved. Not in Chicago.

So does this mean the lists will still be released eventually? I still think the fop should of did something in April before it got to this point. The fop website has some spin written by an attorney saying we have no grounds to get involved, which is BS! "Huh?"

The above is the most strenuous thing FOP has done since the new regime was elected.

The noise they're making now is just for show.

Watch Rahm release these error riddled files out of pure spite and dare Dean Angelo to say "boo" if a damned thing about it.

Notice that last 48 hours or so of the scum-times and the fibune pushing some more of Rahm's "dirty up The Police" campaign because Rahm is getting a little chafed about the fire being turned up under his ass since the 4th of July weekend revealed that he actually has no answer or strategy to solve these inner city death cultists.

Well, no other answer or strategy than beating on The Police and droning about "efficiencies" while denying them the resources to give the good people of Chicago some semblance of public safety.

There has to be another answer than stealing so much of depleted Police resources and diverting them to these rank, hate filled, fetid fever swamps of willful ignorance and death worship on the South and West sides where the rotting corpses of good intentions lay on the fever ridden, piss and sweat drenched, shit stained mattresses where those same good intentions died and will continue to die miserably.

They hate upright society and reject every positive premise of it because they and their political masters fear eventually being unable to play up and exploit the victomology card.

It will be a good day when the rest of society puts them apart to fend for themselves.

"But y'all gotta keep givin' us yo' money an' shit right? Cuz if you don't, we gonna be mad!"

You can't integrate and peacefully co-exist with m/fers who have/desire no common shared values... No matter what the liberal loony left says or does.

This is how societies and nations are hollowed out from within.

Progressivism is evil.

There. Has to. Be. A way...

How come FOP doesn't have vicious lawyers and P.Is on retainer to push back the city and the media?

ALWAYS wondered about that...

If the city did not purge the CR' after five years and hand them over. File on them, many statues cover this and you will get a judgement. The civilians even at the old headquarters were 90 percent useless and half of them played games with records destroying rp sheets on their family and friends. Seen it happen to me on numerious times. This before all was automated. They probadly still do the puging with a keyboard of "delate" the file.
I am retired and you young men and women start document everything, everyday. Buy steno pads and it only takes a few minutes. If your unit has a time stamp, time stamp every page even if the notes are different date then the stamp.
Start playing back with the city that is looking to jam up hard working people.
The old bosses document everything when they wanted to fuck a copper.
If the squad is unsafe, document it and name the bosses you told.
Some copper' needed a good screwing in my day's but they were the minority in numbers.
Start grouping together and plan ahead any litigation.
The city does not play fair now, They are only interested in screwing the working guys.
Start a march on the hall to get rid of that drunk. Jodi was a prince and you went after him. Also Cline was no gift to the street copper or dick.

Awakening for most, CR files never go away. Law and court decisions supersede contract language. The lodge keeps the language in the contract in the event that law is ever changed or overturned, we are then protected administratively and the City can't make changes. Rahm's punishment...

Who, if anybody, is going to be safe after the lawyers get done?

Blood might end up being spilled behind this.

Of course, the lying chronic and habitual beefers are shielded from scrutiny.

THAT is the other half of this story the media is in NO HURRY to talk about.

Yeah... Let's talk about OPS/IPRA honoring a lot of these credulity straining beefs that would require warp speed, time travel, alternate realities and the liberal use of Police doppelgängers in order to achieve a semblance of credibility.

Aye... We so ardently wish that members of the media were to be as naked and exposed as Policemen to this fuckery, character assasination and flat out slander with very little choice other than to grin and bear it because "You guys swore an oath."

FOP's non-aggression pact with Rahm is really, really working... Nothing like seeing the newest people elected to represent Chicago Policemen in the biggest fight of their labor lives are curled up in the fetal position while Mayor Rumplestiltskin joyously kicks patches of skin from our collective asses.

Why bother even trying to keep up appearances when all can see the real deal with their very own eyes?

The time for being restrained and not fighting back because "you guys swore an oath and have rules to abide by" seems to be long gone.

NOBODY... When it comes to matters pertaining to The Police in this city, has any compelling reason to abide by any rules. Rules, fair play, decency and other such are niceties that don't suit their narrative pertaining to The Police.

Yet all demand that Policemen keep one hand tied behind their backs because "well, you knew it would be this way when you signed up..."

(Don't you get the feeling that the institution of Policing itself is thought to be "in the way" of an agenda?)

We did NOT sign up for THIS!

Policemen for the most part stand on the rock of decency, fair play, hard work, love for the underdog etc...

Most Policemen are by their very nature, seekers and lovers of the truth. Especially the truth about how they go about their jobs while being burned at both ends by an administration seeking who knows what while rubbing against these death cultists trying their best to ruin what's left of this city out of pure hatred and disdain for society as a whole.

Who knows?
Maybe these smart people from everywhere else but Chicago, along with the mayor have actually war-gamed a plan where they feel confident that Chicago no longer "needs" a Police Department and they're leaning on the media to play up 15+ years of rogue policemen as if the entire department is made up of Policemen who think and act like those who chose to tarnish our star.

What no one talks about?
How Policemen are drawn from the same pool the rest of society swims in...

In this era of "The Great Hate," this very fact is conveniently ignored because it doesn't suit the "hang 'em all just because they're Chicago Cops" narration.

Curious and interesting times...

Police like you have no friends.
Survive.
Get your pension but plan on not having one
just because you're that hated and reviled cop.

Be content that you did your best...
That is something that no joyful hater
or ardent shit-talker can take away from you.

As for now... It surely seems that The Chicago Policeman stands alone.

Well?
Does he?

Who of any standing will dare to answer that question honestly and out in the open for all to see/hear and render judgement on?

Or will this result in howls from the usual suspects about "airing dirty laundry" and other such?

Bullshit... The lives and well being of good people are at stake and the current condition can't be allowed to persist.

Sorry for the length.
Hard to sit by and witness an honorable profession
and the too few people who take it up get destroyed
for the sake of venal politics and media titillation.
