Fioretti Announcement This Weekend
- Ald. Bob Fioretti (2nd) said Monday he will decide by the end of the week whether to challenge Mayor Rahm Emanuel and revised downward the amount of money he believes it would take to compete with the prolific fundraiser.
Fioretti refused to respond directly to speculation that he would declare his candidacy for mayor on Saturday. But the smile on his face gave it away.
“I’m considering it. I’m seriously considering it,” he said during a break at Monday’s meeting of the City Council Finance Committee.
Fioretti's political adviser Michael Kolenc was less cagey.
"We have a big event planned for Saturday. All we're asking is that people save the day for an important announcement," Kolenc said, promising more details by the middle of the week.
Run Bob run.

Well, that gives Rahm four days to dig something up to blackmail him with to keep him out of the race. Fishmongers can anticipate a special order from Rahm any day now.
I'm taking the chance. I'm voting no on this lousy contract.
A smart mayoral candidate would promise a better contract and then reap the windfall and support of a strong cop + family/friends (voting bloc) turnout.
Even if by next spring's election the contract has gone to arbitration, a newly elected mayor can re-negotiate the contract if he or she chooses.
Arbitration is even preferable.
The public should be reminded that the last contract we were forced to accept was dismal but we were told that the arbitrator was faced with the reality of the time and a tough economy.
The next arbitrator should use Rahm's own words all throughout the 2012 presidential election campaign season. There was Rahm on all the Sunday morning shows making the case for Obama's re-election stating over and over that the recovery was in full swing and our economy was back to pre-recession levels. The crisis was over.
A better offer is in order.
Ald. Fioretti, please look at the contract that Rahm proposed to us and tell us what you would offer differently. Remember, a lot of officers are not focused on retro check and salary increases. They are concerned about comp time usage, photo dissemination, tuition reimbursement, and the pension.
OT....
can is many of my fellow officers be this SLOW.... Lot of guys are hung up and mis informed on several issues on this new contract proposal...
The wage reopener on the pension issue is if by statute (WHICH CAN BE DONE) if your percentage of your contribution goes higher than our current 9% then we can RE-OPEN our wages to make up the difference...
The tuition reimbursement only affects graduate programs and as long as you enroll by sept 2016 you get grandfathered in, you can't figure out from here until 2016 if you plan on joining a graduate program then maybe you shouldn't be getting reimbursement as it is.
Furlo by watch is a common sense issue in many cases some officers will do better by watch.
Go to arbitration and you will be forced into wellness, currently we are ONLY union in city not in it. It has become so profitable to the city they pull in a million a month in fines, it has become a revenue source for the city.
NO increase in your health insurance contribution, really the city last proposal was to double our contributions, what did fire, sgt or Lt. Pay?????
You guys that are all bitching and demanding no votes need to wake up, this is a fair contract, your ass works in the public sector, departments are laying guys off and private sector is just as bad, so it's a fair deal not the best but that is what bargaining is all about
And for you people that are going to bitch about the FOP, hell save it you elected MAJORITY board that is RETIREES, 19 of the 26 spots are held by retirees......

Ol' Bronx will deliver Garfield Ridge.
Rahm, Chico, and Mosley Braun, Rahm wins. Rahm, Fioretti, and Lewis, Rahm wins. If you want change, it has to be a two person race.
he'll split the vote with Karen and any other challenger, and Rahm will win again.
Anyone but Rahm
My question - why does anyone want to be a cop nowadays? Besides the obvious dangers, there has to be daily events that try a man's soul. Sincerely curious to hear the reasons.

It may sound corny, but I came here to help.
I came here to comfort the victims in an accident, to slow the driver in too much of a hurry.
I came here to make sure the ambulance could get to the victim and then to hunt down the one that made him a victim.
I came here to do the slow drive through the teens that want to take over the corner and to stand up to the ones that won't leave.
I came here to stop the ones selling poison to our kids, to stop the families from fighting and to make sure the neighbors got along. I came here to talk to kids and to be their good example.
I really did come here to serve and protect and every night I lay my head down, when I get past the worry, and sleep well. Every morning I am eager to keep doing this job. It is frustrating beyond all reason sometimes...but it is the only job I want to do.

Police officers do not vote so why should any candidate care about your benefits? Most officers are more concerned with jury duty than voting so they avoid the issue. As a result, no one cares about the CPD. Watch the voting for the contract. I bet less than 60% will vote either way.

Agreed most in my large district the coppers that think are voting for it,what moron would vote no take it to arbitration and get less?
OT- Madison Police Dept. is holding an orientation at UIC student center east on wed. sep 24 looking for interested applicants to fill a class of 15-25 starting september 2015. Don't know what their benefits and wages are, just an FYI.
They are concerned about comp time usage, photo dissemination, tuition reimbursement, and the pension.
This just proves we are all screwed and the statement above proves it. This is true for most coppers.....they are only concerned about what's in front of them. They either can't or won't plan for their future.
We should be fighting for our pensions. Problems with comp time denial come and go with the bosses. And if a higher education is that important to you, take out a loan like everybody else does. At least you will be able to deduct THAT from your taxes.
The wage reopener on the pension issue is if by statute (WHICH CAN BE DONE) if your percentage of your contribution goes higher than our current 9% then we can RE-OPEN our wages to make up the difference...
Wrong dipshit... the amount of money taken from our salary IS a calculation of our benefit. What this means to you since you don't seem to understand it or are shilling for the union lackies is that UNDER SEVERAL SCOIL RULINGS, NO CALCULATION CAN BE CHANGED THAT ARRIVES AT YOUR BENEFIT LEVEL.
Means forcing you to pay more for the same benefit IS a cut to the pension system and IS protected from illegal increases.
In short, our 9% is protected by the same clause in the constitution as is our entire benefit structure.
So NO, that IS a fuckover in the contract and that IS bringing pension issues into our contract and that IS how Emanuel intends to try and fuck any union who agrees to this language in their contract of preventing them from prevailing in a SCOIL lawsuit.
IF we agree to "reopen" the contract if the legislature violates the constitution, we just gave up the right to use a lawsuit to solve the injustice because we just agreed in a contract to reopen wages.
The city will use this language when we attempt to sue over constitutional violations to our pensions, and this type of shit has already been tried, and the employer wins every time.
DON'T agree to give away your right to sue on pension issues because you think you're gonna get money today from the city that's fucking you in your contract.
All of you that think we will do better in arbitration are fools. We will lose a lot more and we will be thrown into the wellness program. Think before you vote no. That will cost us more!
And for you people that are going to bitch about the FOP, hell save it you elected MAJORITY board that is RETIREES, 19 of the 26 spots are held by retirees......
Shut up and stop with "departments are laying off people all over the place." Tired of hearing it. We aren't a Podunk pd. so that argument never held weight for me. We work in for one of the largest, busiest, profitable city in the u.s. Don't listen to everyone's bullshit.
If you haven't click on the link and read the whole article.
There are juicy tidbits SCC did not highlight probably for brevity or space limitations.
The whole piece is unfucking believable
ble.
I VOTE NO UNTIL RESIDENCY IS ON THE TABLE! Back door $$$ deal FOP won't challenge ... Were only idiots still forced to live in the same CHITTY!
Too late dude. I'm going 4 Karen. I vote Teacher/ Fire & Cop ANYDAY!!!! He's far removed & a true politician.. No Thnx
A strong cop voting bloc??? Ha ha! I bet you're one of those guys that think everyone likes the police. On a good day, voter turnout is only about 30% and that is being a bit generous. So, even if we go with 30%, the "strong cop/family voting bloc" is only about 3,000 votes and in reality it probably only translates to 2,000 votes max. I bet you think that people you know will vote a certain way because you tell them to.. Get off your high horse. Politicians would rather cater to hood reverends and the bus loads of sheep they command to vote whatever way they get told. That voting bloc wipes ours out with no problem.
FYI. Rare untreatable respitory virus brought into Chicago by the medically and criminally unscreened kids Rahm invited to Chicago and spread them out through CPS infecting Chicago children with 3rd world illnesses. Check with your principals to see how many of these unscreened children are in your kids schools. It is getting out of control real fast. Media is barely touching this story now when they figure it out they probably will just ignore it.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that after years of dismal delivery of city services here in Garfield Ridge, suddenly we have been bombarded with street resurfacing, tree trimmimng, and street sweeping!I am not complaining, but it makes me wish these city elections were held every year.

I couldn't agree with your MORE!!! But, you have to admit, there are a lotta stupid coppers out there..... Vote YES.
Oh geez, not another *progressive*. Fioretti is farther left than Tiny Dancer and a mirror image of that socialist - communist - Bill de Blasio in NYC.
First off, Fioretti's '1% Commuter Tax' will go over like a lead balloon. So where do these moron democrats get the idea that IL and Chicago is oh-so special that instituting tax after tax after tax will have no effect on business, and as such -- Gubmint Revenue. Isn't Fioretti aware that companies and corporations have already fled IL and more are going monthly thanks to Gov Potato-Head.
As to Fioretti saying he'll hire 500 more police. Well...first off, didn't Flaming Tutu say something similar when running, but it was like 1,000 coppers, pretty sure he did. Secondly, even if he did hire 500 more, would it make a difference -- a difference for the better, that is.
By that I mean what *kind* of Police Dept would the CPD be under the thumb of a Far Left raving fucking Socialist like Fioretti supposedly is? I'd say not one that would really have the backs of you Blue Shirts -- socialists aren't exactly known for being 'Police Friendly'.
I know that right now it's 'Anybody But Rahm', but damn man, isn't there one sane person to be found in Chicago?
(where the hell do all these Moonbats come from? it's like a f--king plague)
This will split the white vote. All blacks will vote for Karen Lewis.
vote No on Contract.... Arbitrator will do way better
so will Karen Lewis and Fioretti split the vote now?

If you mean Claypool or as we call him Cesspool, you have no clue of what a Daley scumbag he is.
I am voting NO to the contract, go to arbitration and roll the dice.
Initially, I was very excited about the prospect of Fioretti running. Unlike the Rahm-u-prick, Fioretti wan'ts to hire more police, and that's a good thing because we sure need it.
But I was very dismayed to read some of the campaign positions in this article.
A 1% tax on commuters. Wow, so we encourage businesses to come to Chicago then throw roadblocks in their way when they actually want to hire people? Fucking retarded. Chicago & Illinois desparately need jobs. And this whole thing would like be an enforcement nightmare.
And a sales tax on services? Which ones? Lawyers would be a perennial favorite. But accountants? Engineers? Architects? Realtors? Where does it stop? And how about medicine? Maybe the shitheads or their doctors would get whacked with taxes on bills they never pay anyways after they get shot full of holes?
Funny, haven't heard anything about REDUCING SPENDING? Why is mo' taxes always the solution?
And what about property taxes, and shifting that burden elsewhere, as Rauner suggests doing?
After all, we have $1 BIL+ sloshing around in the TIF Funds. H-E-L-L-O.
Fioretti, Emanuel, Lewis.
Like a choice between horse shit, chicken shit or bullshit.
Call the next case. Not a cop.
First off, the wage re-opener is a no go, who in their right mind is going to allow us to increase our pay if the pension goes up? The pension laws are state laws and they can't be diminshed. Secondly we are not a voting bloc, because our families and us don't vote and the politicians know that, we are weak. The contract is all we are going to get, like all the other unions have, please realize that and don't make waves. And lastly, who cares who wins all the up coming elections, we don't vote!
At least the retirees have more common sense, they vote, have more experience in these matters and are by far more interested in what happens to the contract.

I like Karen Lewis cause she had the balls to stand up against Rhambellina,I like a woman with balls...what am I saying?
lets not make the mistake that was made on the last contract. this is a fair offer that the FOP and the city has worked out.
if this is voted down it will go to an arbitrator and if that happens all will be severely screwed. accept this offer. the FOP and city have come to a reasonable agreement. if you dont think so you are sadly mistaken !!
ACCEPT THIS OFFER OR BE PREPARED TO BE SCREWED BIG TIME
Run Bob Run , grass roots campaign
65% did not vote in the last mayoral election , almost half that voted went for Chico !doc rivers or solely Braun
You can do it , suburbs owe $20,000,000 water bills , city. Residents water I'll has doubled , 2,000 less police in the budget , phony political racially correct rank of XO , many never passed sgt. Test , schools closed Red light camera scandal , theft of 3/4 of a million by a clerk in revenue or wTer collection . IG unable to investigate aldermen , you voted against that , thank you. No $ for teacher pay raise. But later found ,
Swore at a female black union leader ,very disrespectful . Don't back down , run for mayor .

The city is making MILLIONS ???
I say bullshit . .
We only have a handful of sergeants who are too paranoid or LAZY to be in the wellness program.
Each employee and his/her spouse is charged $50 a month if they do not participate.
The only thing you have to do is go to the below website:

You click on a few bullshit recipes and you get your 12 points 4 time a year.

119 AM SAID: The wage reopener on the pension issue is if by statute (WHICH CAN BE DONE) if your percentage of your contribution goes higher than our current 9% then we can RE-OPEN our wages to make up the difference...
Yeah, consider yourself SLOW also.
It also says that if an agreement for an increase in wages because of increased pension percentages cannot be achieved within 90 days that it will go to arbitration.
You then go on to spout how you think we will get it stuck in our asses when we go to arbitration when we reject this contract. Which one is it? Is arbitration good for us or isn't it? If you think we're going to get it stuck in her ass by going to arbitration on just the contract, what makes you think it'll be any different when it's time for an arbiter to award us with wage increases in the event we have to contribute more for pensions?
Bottom line here is that the contract and pension are two totally separate entities and should remain that way. Once any language is included in our contract that allows anything to do with our pension - specifically the fact that wage increases to offset increase pension contributions rests in the hands of an arbiter - you've opened Pandora's box.
Because here is the likely scenario if this were ever to come to fruition:
State constitution is changed and it is determined that we must now pay 11% of our salary toward our pension. FLOP "reopens" the contract to ask for a 2% increase in wages to offset this. City says fuck you and stalls past 90 days. It goes to arbitration. Arbiter sides with the city (like they do 99% of the time). We get stuck paying to clean up the mess created by the politicians who never held up their end of the bargain to properly fund our pension.
This was a piss poor proposal by Dean and Company. You could have sold me on this aspect of the contract had it included the stipulation that the city must first put in what they owe to the pension fund to ensure it is funded at 90% before we are made to make up the difference.
You ain't changing my mind or those of just about everyone I've talked to. NO is the vote to this piece of shit proposed contract.

Police officers don't vote for union elections when a SASE is sent to your front door!
It'll be interesting to see what percent of officers vote in the contract.
If you really think our voting "bloc" is a force to be reckoned with, look at the percent of ballots sent back in our elections, when all you have to do is get out of the recliner & go to your mailbox.
We don't stick together, and therefore we intimidate NO ONE!
Hey, cool.

gary chicago for mayor 2015
Who cares, all Chicago politicians are the same. All looking to enrich themselves above all else. Chicago politics are built on the foundation of corruption. To hell with this place, let the democrats keep it by bribing the poor with entitlements while they slaughter each other in the streets. A few more and I will be leaving this cesspool of inhumanity and white guilt. Leave it to the savages.
FACT: If the contract is not ratified we stand the chance to loose Retro, Health, LMCC (wellness) and raise. FYI if the contract does not ratify, the city will demand arbitration. Wake up and smell the coffee. The contract is not perfect, none ever are.....
Retired guy after 33 yoj. The midget sucks anything south of 26 street. When was the last time Rahm did anything for or appeared with white and Latino people and kids.
Harold Washington was loved by the entire city after he hit all the hoods. The Polish folks loved the guy when he ate at their resturants and mingled with all.
Rahm and Gerry show needs to end kids, support Bob. Teachers are socialists and have no use for police. Seen it in all white hoods up North.
Lewis will be like her clone, Toni Perkwinke, a true hater. These two will have a gang fest on the gold coast if they could.
You cannot go wrong with BOB for mayor.
On the contract, you kid copper' thought your boy Shields was the best, us old timer' told you to vote for Bella, but now you are crying with your new contract. Anyone that votes NO, will regret it. But us old retired assholes know shit !!
Be safe.
City is turning to shit regardless of who is mayor.

In the last 8-9 years the economy was crumbled. The majority of the cops hired in that time aren't cops. Their 5 Parkers and a mover company kiss ass company men afraid of their own shadow.

9/09/2014 08:28:00 AM
Who ever you are, that is the simplest and best explanation I've read.
Basically we are doomed. We are on the road to serfdom. I can hear the driver calling now.
"All aboard.......Next stop Detroit! Hold on to all your personal belongings it is gonna be a bumpy ride. Whatever you have placed or neatly stored in the cargo hold maybe tossed around and redistributed. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Face it people, you can ride first class or coach. But we are all gonna ride, and its gonna cost BIG either way. The voting block is on the entitlement system side, or what we used to call welfare. All the low skilled people crossing the Southern boarder are gonna crash that system too. Once that starts, future Democrats are gonna need their votes and there won't be a republic.

9/09/2014 10:31:00 AM
Why isn't it an option? If your cat has a wedding dress in the crawlspace, I say go for it!!
I was at a neighborhood carnival over the weekend talking with alderman Zalewski while purchasing a hand full of pull tabs. He related that the best bet for our city is voting for Karen.
I think it funny. Everyone talking about the " retro" and the city will have to borrow the money to pay it. And people still think the pension will be there. Take your 5 grand on the retro and save it. You will need it.
Amazing that the Atlanta Hawks are being crucified in the media for a private communication that was made public and...TRUE. Even Upper and Middle Class Black Men would be uncomfortable in a stadium full of young Black Males. It hurts but is true.
Judging from outside Chicago, it looks like ANYBODY BUT RAHM is the best solution to the cancer that Rahm is to Chicago.
as far as elections go.....a.b.r....anyone but rham....would Lewis be a good choice.....probably not, but, who else is there?....the country is stuck with folks like Rham, Obama, etc.....losers, incompetents, liberal fools....maybe there are are decent folks that would run for office....maybe
9/09/2014 05:58:00 AM
Awesome. Thanks.
We should be fighting for our pensions. Problems with comp time denial come and go with the bosses. And if a higher education is that important to you, take out a loan like everybody else does. At least you will be able to deduct THAT from your taxes.
9/09/2014 08:00:00 AM
Hey dum-dum. Butt out until you get a brain. You obviously are another proud CPS "graditate." You can't deduct the cost of a higher education, moron! You can deduct some of the interest if you take a loan - but that's all, stupid! A graduate degree can run $40K to $60K. You think that's not a benefit worth fighting for? Grow up, get a side job you lazy-ass, sell the motorcycle and the boat, and save a few bucks. So sick of you do-nothing Madigan-Quinn-Democrat slobs crying about your pensions. Shut up you crybabies!
Ald. Fioretti, please look at the contract that Rahm proposed to us and tell us what you would offer differently. Remember, a lot of officers are not focused on retro check and salary increases. They are concerned about comp time usage, photo dissemination, tuition reimbursement, and the pension.
9/09/2014 01:16:00 AM
yeah right, what we really care about are the cars they proposed for! what a fucking joke. of all the things, not two man cars like the one poster said, more wagons, residency, pension, etc.
nnooooo, vehicles. that should say it all. vote no
"OT....
can is many of my fellow officers be this SLOW.... Lot of guys are hung up and mis informed on several issues on this new contract proposal..."
Can are many of your fellow officers agree with youse....getting the City to agree to purchase new police cars was pure FLOP, a genius stroke...
The famous Felony Franks meanie-weenie hasn't enough support unless he's running on a Green Party ticket. Wonder what Rahm offered him this time, he pulled out mayoral last election and chose to run again as alderman due to his health issue... hmmmmm?
••• Please note the Ald. made a living suing the city with frivolous excessive force, civil rights and false arrest cases. Is his law firm "bus stop" bench seat still on Madisom & Leavitt?
There's probably more support for Karen Lewis, who besides being well outspoken and not afraid to speak her mind especially about Mayor 1%'er, if Fioretti runs Das Rahmf may not get that 51% anyhow and force a runoff.
So, I'm not voting for police suers or fake-tear jerks.
Four bangers arrested for attacking two innocent victims on CTA ,cameras are a waste of money , how does the victim feel Chicago needs another 2,000 coppers Where are the mass transit police ? That needs to be answered , ctta. Should have a private police department ,
Are these four gang bangers going to receive 5 extra points on police and fire test . I know they don't attend St . Pat's high school .
Where are the police , not enough on the street .
How many working inside ?
Is this going to be bigger than the apple 6 ?
Would love to see Lewis win. She's works hard for city workers and has a bad taste in her mouth for chicago politicians. That's all I care about. As far as politics goes, Lewis and rahm are equally liberal. So I'll vote for the one that may support the city worker. Rahm only cares about the rich politician. What they hell other choice do we have in the fucked up city?
Vote NO on contract.
I have spoken to Mr. Fioretti. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be good to the police. period.

I have to ask? Do you work at the airport officer ? Midway????? Why you bash the Zalewski family as a whole so often. Joe
I'm voting for Maurice the kitty cat. Meow.
Just curious, anyone know what percent of the high rises on the 400 block of East Ohio are section 8 vouchers? I took a stroll down there and thought I was at 63rd and Cottage Grove. WTF! There was even a thugged out Ru Paul sashaying down the street while giving me the stink eye!
9/09/2014 01:12:00 AM
At this point, an arbitrator cannot give us what we haven't asked for. By voting no and sending it to arbitration, we will gain nothing and lose retro. Furthermore, it would probably extended by a year. So, instead of 11% over 5 years with retro, we would get no retro and 11% over 6 years.
I'm not crazy about the contract , (especially since I turn 55 in july, 2017) but voting no on it would clearly not be in our best interest.
Bob F is no friend of the Police, he sued the city more than once on alleged brutality issues. That being said, he is no Jane Byrne, but probably our only choice. The only thing we Can hope for is that he runs, Lewis runs and that Rham is kept under 50% in the first go around. If Rham is kept at 40% or less, he is a loser in a run off. In aldermanic races, if the incumbent is kept under 50% in the first round, he or she loses between 80-85% of the time. Keep in mind that in the 41st Ward, their is a great candidate running against Rhams rubber stamp Mary OConnor. It's Anthony Napolitano, former CPD, now CFD, please put out the word for Anthony. He cares about the Ward as opposed to the part time Alderman OConnor. She is a left wing liberal, who is ruining a long time Republican ward. Anthony comes from a large Police family.
I'm voting no. Retro is going to be less than 3 grand after taxes for the average ten to fifteen year vet.
those of you talking about the private sector forget that we wear a damn bulletproof vest to work everyday (and for those who get paid for code 9161 and don't wear a vest everyday, maybe it's time for a different code and LESS PAY).
I think it funny. Everyone talking about the " retro" and the city will have to borrow the money to pay it. And people still think the pension will be there. Take your 5 grand on the retro and save it. You will need it.
The pension will be there. Take it away from me and see what happens!
Better than anything else out there. He always shows up for police funerals, even BEFORE he was an alderman, I'd see this guy at police line of duty funerals. I'll be voting for him on this aspect alone.

No matter where you go, the beast is hanging down on the street, eatin' flamin hot cheetos and drinking orange pop. Empty bags and cans dropped right they were standing. And of course, walking in the streets always.
I was going out west last weekend to see family in Wheaton. Going out Roosevelt Road around Glen Ellyn, Lombard, I start seeing the beast, walking, in the street. The only people walking out there is the beast and of course they walk where they always walked in the city, in the goddamn street.
Of course they have one car per 15 people so most get to walk the mile or two to the sto'. No CTA out there, just much harder to catch Pace bus.
Another sign of the decline of an area, tire repair shops and the beast walking in the street.
I have spoken to Mr. Fioretti. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be good to the police. period
Fioretti is a fucking SNAKE. I've had the misfortune of speaking to him several times and seeing him in action. He is no friend of the police, believe me! He's a fucking politician. You think he's going to tell p/os anything other than what they want to hear? He will screw us over completely, and is always on shitbag's side. I would vote for a plastic bag before him.
To the lughead complaining about the retro pay, take it and run, if the city really really wanted to push it, and if this was not a gesture for your votes from Rahm, you would be waiitng for an arbitrator to decide this, as for the fact that you wear a bulletproof vest. Fuck it go drive a cab, work at Wal Mart, who gives a fuck, you and me made a lot more money then the average person, I'm retired and spent 40 yrs. on the job, we cried a little, but never like the Gel Hair police of today. Think of what you would be doing if you didn't take this job, you were not forced. Another contract will be coming in a few years. The city will never give you or anyone else a contract on time. Bad for the economy. Remember this is not yours or your daddys job anymore.

And yes! I just checked. Lake Shore Plaza is Section 8 housing. I''m sure there are more.
In regards to the comment on Section 8 housing in Streeterville.. here ya go.
Isn't this nice?? How nice for those assholes.

Why don't we promote a viable Republican candidate to run against the democratic nominee ?
Vote No , we can live without one year of retro .
We need two man cars and three supervisors on the street at all times .
Arbitrator will see the need for safety , firefighters do not work with less men , why should the police .
Zalewski hit triple Sevens on the slots at Harrah's last night. Good for you !!
The arbitrator, cannot extend the length of the contract.

You are probably the same person that believed Obama's "hope and change" making America stronger BS. Never believe a politician.
Twenty years on and forget retro , raise will be there . Make city beef up the department , we need two man cars .
Forget the retro. Vote a big NO.
I have spoken to Mr. Fioretti. There is no doubt in my mind that he would be good to the police. period.
You must be a special kind of stupid...

What's stopping you from running?
To the poster who says he would like to see Karen Lewis as Mayor, are you crazy, she admits to not knowing politics, she would have to surround herself with every no good thief who would make this Detroit West. And I'm not saying this because of race, but Bignuts would be her chief of staff and Beale would have a big spot, Burke would run the city for good. Anyone but Lewis and Rahm. Fioretti is just a bit more smarter in the politics field.

To the lughead complaining about the retro pay
9/10/2014 08:14:00 AM
I think that was his point, grandpa.
It wasn't a complaint. Retro isn't everything, so why put our tail between our legs like we've convinced ourselves of what City Hall, the media and some of the public believe: That we don't deserve more.
You're like a dog that's been kicked so much you flinch at every move.
No on this contract.
and just what is a gel hair? Go watch Walker, Texas Ranger or Matlock. then take a nap.you'll feel better.
Forget retro? Are you nuts?
Ok, I'm a "I'm a special kind of stupid". Who should I vote for?
I was at a function just the other night and a large group of not so old as you young boys think retired coppers were joking about how much the new generation of wanna be coppers want without really earning it, and then I see a comment in a post here that some young boy says that grandpa should take a nap, when he refers to the backpay issue, well I can assemble a team of retired guys that can come out on the street, and conduct REAL street stops and get real bad guys and not a few bag pinches, WE knew then and still know how to work, Why you ask? because we have class, and a work ethic, so just go drink your 5 hour energy, and Red Bull drinks and call everyone DUDE and how tired you are because you went to court, and had to watch your 3 young kids because your little darling wife or girlfriend had to go to the gym or to the tanning booth. Thank God I'm am retired and making more money then you do, Infants, just Infants!!! PS. Muscleheads too
