Officers Injured
- An off-duty Harvey police officer was beaten and robbed near the 59th Street Harbor early Sunday morning on the South Side, according to police.
The officer was approached by unknown offenders at 2:50 a.m. in the 5900 block of South Lake Shore Drive, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs officer Janel Sedevic.
The officer was transported in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His condition was later stabilized, Sedevic said.

The officer was in the area of 74th Street and Langley shortly before 3 a.m. when he was approached by a person who asked him for the time and then displayed a handgun, said Chicago Police News Affairs [...]. A struggle ensued and the offender fired shots...
Amazingly, both were attacked by invisible men as there are exactly zero descriptions in the Tribune. Best wishes to both officers for their recoveries.

In regards to Harvey copper,
He was walking with friends when he saw shitheads sitting on his car.
He told them to get off and they started advancing on him.
He pulled out his Glock 21 and fired a WARNING SHOT in their direction.
THE SAVAGES STILL advanced on him and beat him unconscious, broke bones in his face and robbed him of his weapon.
This goes to show YOU MUST SHOOT these BASTARDS if they are advancing on you in a group.
The problem is the fucking liberals like in Ferguson Missouri will hang you out to dry.

I know cops are armed, and people have a right and freedom to go and come as they please but you gotta use common sense sometimes.
Stay out of bad areas at 3 am, leave the alcohol alone...stay safe.

If true, He is lucky that they did not kill him with his own damned gun. A gun is not a magic wand. Don't pull it unless you intend to use it.
Where were his friends? Did they run away?
First of all, 59th and the lakefront isn't a 'bad area.'
The harbor over there is filled with boats that belong to coppers and firemen.
Second, this guy (from what's going around) got into it with someone from a party over that way. Apparently the guy he embarrassed called some friends, and dude got his revenge, and then some. Yes, there was alcohol involved, and no, the Harvey copper wasn't robbed.

Officer Michael Bailey was killed just a block away.
That G21 should've been smoking hot, in slide-lock and in the copper's hand with multiple dead asses littering the ground...
