Charges in Retired Sgt's Murder
- After Jesse Kazmierski and two others allegedly robbed a retired Chicago Police sergeant during a deadly home invasion on the Far South Side, he admitted to someone, “We did something stupid,” Cook County prosecutors said.
Believing 73-year-old Elmer Brown and his wife had a lot of money in a safe, the three drove from Indiana to Chicago on March 10 hoping to get their hands on the loot.
But they ended up leaving without the cash, instead fleeing with the Browns’ other property, including a handgun and a knife, Assistant State’s Attorney Jamie Santini said.
Brown, who was shot once in the face during the incident at 115th and South Avenue G, died two weeks later.
The earlier reports from March said Sgt. Brown was blind and physically in bad health - not very much of a threat to anyone, but he was executed by these scumbags. The article says the other two offender haven't been charged - are they in custody or named anywhere else?

I'm of fhe impression that Carroll is doing his defense pro bono on order of the court. All lawyers are required to do a certain amount of work in their legal speciality for the indigent by the bar association or pay into a fund to buy services for same.

There was another home invasion robbery after the Sgt Al Brown incident. In that one 3. Offenders followed the victim from the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond to Orland Park they used the same mode of entry and shot the victim after he refused to give up his 8,000 winnings possible the same offenders!
I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere after this Home Invasion occurred that he used to have healthcare workers come into his home. I could be mistaken but a lot of these workers come from agencies that have contracts with the state to provide home care. A lot of these places hire pure SHIT for minimum wage.

Here's the truth, like it or not.
When your neighborhood goes to shit, you leave. Keep the memories but understand that things have changed and that you, as a productive and honest person, can no longer risk living there among the animals.
While I admire the people on the SE Side who are keeping a stiff upper lip and trying to save the sinking ship, the fact of the matter is, the majority of 04 is not a safe place to live for anyone who might be considered vulnerable in any way (old age, women, children, the disabled, etc). Even Hegewisch, which gets a bum-rap by some, isn't some place I'd ever allow my 70 year old father to live.

I worked with "Al" and was friends with him for close to forty years, rightup until his tragic ending.

Listen punk.Al Brown was my neighbor and I grew up knowing his two youngest sons.I never worked for him,but knew plenty PO's who did.He was well loved.I'm retired off the job,so mom's basement is ancient,ancient history.If you enjoy 10G so much,get a motel room and have at it.I'm an old school jagoff retired PO.If you ever spoke to me like that in person,you'd be picking up your teeth,internet bad ass.

I'm not the original poster here but the respnses to his post shows just how far this department has deteriorated.
