Second Arrest in Retiree Slaying

  • A 16-year-old Indiana boy was ordered held without bond Wednesday for his alleged role in the murder of an elderly retired Chicago Police sergeant.

While his mother sat next to him, Jeremy Mendez admitted to detectives that he forced himself into 73-year-old Elmer Brown’s home the night of the incident last spring, Cook County prosecutors said.

Jesse Kazmierski, of Hammond, Ind., was charged with the deadly home invasion earlier this month. He also is being held without bond and is awaiting trial at Cook County Jail.
And more news:
  • Chicago Police officials said Wednesday they are waiting to extradite the third suspect from Indiana.
Hopefully, we find out what gave these savages the info on a safe and a quantity of money that led to the home invasion and murder.

This is why I tell people in homes not to have safes, or at least ones ANYONE knows about, as all it takes is one worker, someones boyfriend, or whatever to llet their imagination roam.

skin both offenders from toe to head. they are youngsters... skin their parents too for not doing their job as parents. air the skinning on cable tv at a low cost pay per view. the state/ county can make millions. or have both offenders fight to the death with forks. survivor gets life in prison without parole. now that on pay per view is worth big dollars.

From Chicago Sun Times.
'A federal judge on Thursday held a drug dealer accountable for the murder of a Chicago police officer and his female friend and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Joan Lefkow found that it was “very likely” that Jason Austin gunned down Det. Robert Soto and Soto’s friend, Kathryn Romberg, in a case of mistaken identity in August 2008.

An earlier criminal case in county court had collapsed against Austin after key witnesses recanted their statements out of fear, federal prosecutors have said. The feds had convicted Austin of drug charges and argued druing a sentencing hearing that lasted several days that he should be held accountable for the double murder as well, and the judge agreed.'

To all those involved, from the initial detectives on the scene that horrible August morning, to everyone at Area 4, and the assisting areas that worked so hard to solve this case, a big Thank you.
To Gang intelligence for getting the drug conspiracy angle set in motion and to the Ausa's that tried the case and presented the facts of the cover -up to the Federal Court A Huge thank you.
Justice for Detecive Soto and Kathryn Romberg has been achieved at 219 S. Dearborn.
26th and Cal to busy indicting CPD.
Never forget!!

OT --

Interesting one here, too. Another threesome -- at least one seeming to have prior knowledge and acquaintance with the victim. Look who got her foot in the door, and look what followed.

Robber points shotgun at homeowner: 'I'm reloaded'

Sept. 17, 2:30 PM

"Two men have been charged with forcing their way into a home in Roscoe Village and threatening the homeowner with his own shotgun before fleeing with several weapons, cell phones, an Xbox and cash, police said.

"Gary Wallace, 21, of the 2300 block of North Kedzie Avenue and Melvin Wilson, 20, of the 0-100 block of North Lavergne Avenue are each charged with home invasion with a firearm. Also charged was Bryna Wolowic, 20, of the 700 block of Sun Lake Road in Lake Village. Police say she helped plan the robbery.

"The victim told police he was taking a nap around 6 p.m. Tuesday when heard a loud knock at his door in the 1800 block of West Belmont Avenue, according to the police report. He looked through the peephole and saw no one.

"Minutes later, there was a another knock and this time the homeowner opened the door and allowed Wolowic in, according to the report. Soon afterward, there was a knock again and the victim opened the door and was struck by Wilson..."

Good advice. Many of these crimes start with family members opening their mouths and talking to others. And, family members going through your trash. Shred everything.A lot of identity theft starts with family members.

To the guy complaining about the city holding deferred comp money before posting it to Nationwide....remember it's not your money it's the asset of the governmental entity, you have deferred accepting the money and it is placed into this account. I have said it before, check it out if you don't believe it, Deffered Comp remains a asset of the governmental entity, in this case the city. This remains so until you begin taking the money. This fact was discovered and admitted to by Natuonwide/deferred comp when there was talk that Harold Washington was eyeing the funds. Once again deferred comp money remains an asset of the city until you leave and withdraw the money.

Completely false!

I could clear up a lot of the speculation and misinformation on this page but, other than the "loose lips sink ships" talk, the rest of it doesn't really matter.

The bastards have been caught and I hope the justice system doesn't fail us on this one.

RIP "Al"

True -- but, boy, what a sad commentary today. Family SHOULD be a rock to stand on, everyone pulling together.

Take an example from the Tribal Areas here -- unforgettable Christmas Eve with people shooting from balconies, another one pops out of gangway and BOOM BOOM BOOM at police, guys slipping on the ice, running around, banging on one door after another, and it ends up "Squad, make this whole damn thing a 19-P.

"Ain't nobody in this whole building gon' tell us s__t."
