- Hey Guys,
Got information from a fellow PO today the states attorney called him trying to get PO's at the P.O. Wortham murder trial. I guess tomorrow's closing arguments and they have not had any police officers in the court room during the entire trial. If you can please put out the information and hopefully somebody can make it on his behalf. Room 606.
Stop by after your call. Takes a minute and means the world.
UPDATE: We're being told Room 500? Ask at the sign-in room. They'll have the info.
UPDATE: GUILTY - a small measure of closure - Rest in Peace Officer.
UPDATE: Both GUILTY

It's room 500. I was there today for a couple hrs
Didn't I read it here last week that the ASA requested all POs to basically hide that they were POs so as not to give the defense ammo? I haven't been to any of the dates...just thought this seemed like a shift in ideology all of a sudden.
The restrictions and threats of restrictions and discipline discourage cops from attending these trials. The Prosecutors, Liberal Judges and of course the Defendants got what they wanted; coppers stay away. It is sort of like Canada, where they tell their military not to wear their uniforms in public, because it might provoke an attack. Well in Cook County Courts, our presence in uniform may provoke the defendants and their attorneys! These are Sad and Terrible Times we live in. Anyway, what difference does attending these trials make; the Mutt knows he cannot be executed, so he will be out in a few years.
9:15 am in Room 500. NOT 606.
Room 500
I went yesterday. Shithead defendants look pathetic in their suits attempting to cover up what they look like every other day. Definitely could use more police support. Defendant's support looks so disgusting and pathetic too because theyre falling asleep snoring in the back and resemble a crackhead family.
Stop by if you're in the building.
Savage found guilty. A dirt nap couldn't come any sooner.
God bless and keep PO Wortham IV.
Wasn't there a bunch of noise early on about "You cops need to stay away/cover-up/hide/STFU so as not to inflame the the judge, SAO, public defenders, shit-heads, shit-heads supporters/litter-mates, etc?"
"You guys offend everybody when you turn out to support your own."
WTF?
So this great and unknown "everybody" is loudly telling us everyday in every possible way that they have no real use for and see no redeeming value in those who serve as such an outmoded, obsolete "thing" as a Chicago Policeman.
They wish we would quietly take our blue suited selves
and go away...
"Get off the cross... You guys aren't anything special...
Anybody can do your jobs... You guys think too highly of yourselves and what you do... If you don't like it then quit already..."
And all manner of other assorted hateful, disrespectful,
anti-Police shit-talk.
Right?
"Don't you dare hit back in your own defense, Cop! Don't you have rules against that?"
No real father should EVER have to bear the sorrow of seeing his son taken away from him before his very eyes.
Retired Sgt. Wortham responded as a Father and a true blue comrade in arms as a Chicago Policeman.
Hallelujah?
Amen!
The joyful haters and shit-talkers in this town do revel in our pain, sorrow and sacrifice.
"You guys aren't special... Get over it..."
Heh... Who would dare run toward what all others run from if The Police WERE finally made to go away?
GOD Bless the fallen.
GOD Bless those who
answered the calling.
There will always be narrow, unevolved and dismissive minds full of haughty opinions on what they think Policemen ought to do and how they should be.
Demanding that Policemen "cover-up" is not only pandering to the lowest denominator, it is also shameful and craven.
It's broken beyond the ability of mere Policemen
to fix.

So dress as if you work undercover. Then when they announce guilty, jump up and shout and clap and cheer. What is the judge going to do then, throw the police out? Police will be filing out anyway.
They remember the Danny Doffyn trial, when they had Officer Doffyn's bloody uniform hanging in front of the jury and I believe that got shithead a new trial.
As long as the verdict is GUILTY. The shitheads will still be shitheads. The public defenders will still appeal. Fuck the savages. I hope they send the animals down south of Carbondale so shitheads family has a nice long ride on visiting day. I guess it is too much to hope for the reopening of Tamms.

"Resemble" a crackhead family? There is a reason for that. Perhaps they ARE a crackhead family. Or aspire to be. All scum, we know that.
The Judge doesn't want you in the courtroom but the States atty does? You're being pimped, unless you're subpoenaed for the case it's best to stay away from their kabuki theater.
OFF TOPIC:
Statement from the U.N. in response to the thug , Michael Brown's , parents(sic) looking for intervention.
“The sense of entitlement these people displayed is reprehensible” said chair member, Dr. Amancio Dominguez in an interview with National Report. “We deal with legitimate and widespread instances of human rights violations, and frankly the issues presented to us here are not even a blip on our radar. It is in our opinion after reviewing all the evidence that the officer in question committed absolutely no wrong doing.”
As much as I hate the U.N. and it's liberal bs, this is without a doubt the most direct and factual statement made.
NObama can learn a thing or two from this, but then again , he is like the Brown family when it comes to race and the police. No responsibility for ones owns actions.
ISP Sgt.
i am in strong agreement with first 2 posters. yes, police presence is requested(in support of the family),but why should the police have to 'hide their identity',if theyre there to not only show their solidarity, but also, and more importantly, to support a mourning family? my condolences to the family.

Off topic RIP Mayor Jane Byrne , a friend to the Police,at God protect You!!
jane bryne has died what a great mayor n wonderful person i still remember harold he was a dog ass racist , mayor brnyes in heaven i hope harold is burning in hell
RIP Mayor Jane Byrne
from your beloved Chicago Police Department
The CFD vilified her unfairly, had they been patient they would have gotten theirs. Instead they created a huge division in their ranks which might have aged out with current employees but grudges still remain between the family members of following generations.
The mob threatened a city wide strike if DeLeonardi(sp?) wasn't removed.
She did her best in this crooked town. She was a tough cookie only to be muscled out of further terms by spoiler (spoiled) Richard II.
Thank you for your service. And may Thomas Wortham III and all of our fallen stars give her a warm welcome in the afterlife.
Lady Jane has joined Tommy Wortham with the angels. May God bless and protect them for all eternity.
I know I speak for many retired veteran officers when I state this. Considering the corruption, cluelessness and shameless arrogance of current and recent city, county and state "politicians", I never envisioned that the day would come when this retired member of the CPD would say this about a Chicago mayor:
Janie, we love you!
Defendant's support looks so disgusting and pathetic too because theyre falling asleep snoring in the back and resemble a crackhead family.

Perfect!
You are made very unwelcome by the ASAs in the recent past. Something changed
Help and support is still needed.
"Sentencing" for these two are December 15.
An appearance by available members will again reflect our promise and commitment they we will "Never Forget."
Rest in Peace Tom, God has called you a better place.

...and a salute to Ret. Sgt. Wortham, who stood up like the fine man that he is and fought back like holy hell and busted up that situation but good.
Bless you, Sir. Chicago's Finest, still and always.
May peace -- finally -- begin to settle upon you and your family.
One more to go, but he's just marking time, swirling around the drain...
I went to school with both Tommy and Alex . They were both bright and dedicated individuals . I knew them before we all came on . Tommy was a great cop . Though he was an even better man . Keep watching over us as we watch over yours . Never forget . Rest easy bud.
Fuck Anita Alvarez and 90 percent of Cook County states attorneys.
I will support the Wortham family but not to appease or support the state.
Officers need to stop whoring for the Alvarez regime they will fuck you over in a heartbeat so Anita can get a federal judge ship or a cabinet position.
Jane Byrne, God bless the woman. She gave us a contract. Before Byrne, officers often had to pay the commander's secretary for a requested watch assignment. I remember a fellow officer having to pay to work 3rd watch to go to school during the day.(Put the envelope in the drawer, kid!) Day off groups were routinely changed to accomodate "pets". (You have Christmas off? Not anymore! Your weekends are coming up? That's what you think.) Under Byrne, and a contract, seniority meant something and you were protected from supervisory whims. Overtime became time and a half rather than straight time for time. RIP Mayor Byrne. This old retired guy thanks you.
To the 11/14 0833 post, amen, brother.

That U.N. statement is a rumor/false.
Can't help but wonder...
What would people like the Emanuel brothers, Rich Daley, Anita Alvarez, Eric Zorn, Neil Steinberg, Mike Sneed, Mary Mitchell, Mark Brown and others would do if they heard a ruckus outside their front doors and saw their flesh and blood violently snatched away from them like Retired Sergeant Wortham did?
Would they have it in them to come charging out of that front door bringing death and destruction with them to address an ultimate outrage?
>Crickets<
Savagery wielded by good men makes craven, wretched and small hearts uneasy...
Imagine the slant and spin that would have been put on this tragedy if it were an active duty member responding in like fashion?
There IS a war against any and all things Police going on in this town.
