Smash-and-Grab Arrest
- A Chicago man charged in connection with a crash-and-grab robbery in North Austin earlier this week was ordered held in lieu of $75,000 bond Saturday by a Cook County judge.
Denzel C. Henigan, 20, of the 1500 block of North Latrobe Avenue, was charged with two counts of burglary, a Class 2 felony, and criminal trespassing, a Class B misdemeanor after identifying himself among about 15-20 people seen on a surveillance video in the burglary at J-Bees Clothing and Footwear in the Austin neighborhood, according to Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Andres Almendarez.
Henigan was taken into custody just minutes after the early morning Nov. 27 burglary of the store, at 5250 W. North Ave., because authorities were able to track him down by following stolen items, including pairs of jeans, that had been dropped. The items led to a garage near which Henigan was hiding, less than a block from the store, according to Almendarez and court documents.
What's the saying? Pigs get fat - hogs get slaughtered. A few less articles of clothing and there might not be a trail for the police to follow. Of course, don't steal at all and there's no trail, but that's a different lesson.

The Henigan Public Defender, absent any real defense, plagiarized a line from SCC hinting it was all a mistake, merely an accident.
His opening line at the probable cause hearing... "Your honor,I believe,'perhaps a quick lesson in the physics of friction, angled ground and gravity is in order. And a safer place to park heavy vehicles while working,'is the real issue here, can we get an I-Bond?"

Also, I sit and watch all of the destruction in Ferguson and it saddens me. The town will NEVER recover. Look at the west side of Chicago. It went up in flames from the ML King riots in 1968, and it has not come back in over 45+ years. There are still many vacant lots from that time.
Ferguson will become an economic desert and all of the protesters with secondary agendas will be gone as soon as the next big media event comes along.
People wake up. READ...make an informed decision based on facts. Quit buying $700 jeans (really??) and get an education.
