Um...Outrage? Anyone?

  • A 48-year-old Pullman man free on parole for a 1993 slaying has been charged with murder again after police found a 53-year-old man stabbed to death Wednesday evening on the Far South Side.

Police were called to perform a “well-being check” at a residence in the 600 block of East 111th Street and found Thomas Sanchez stabbed to death about 5 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said. Police believe the stabbing may have happened on Tuesday.

Responding officers found Christian Williams still on the scene and he was taken into custody, police said.

[...] Williams, who lived on the block, was charged with first-degree murder and is expected to appear in court for a bond hearing on Saturday.

Williams was previously convicted of murder in 1993 and sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to court records. Details about that slaying were not immediately available.

Williams was released on parole March 1, 2013, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
1993 + 30 years = 2023. That'd be the projected release date if he served 100% of his sentence. He served 20 of the 30 years - 66%. Parole really shouldn't be an option for murderers. 100% of the sentence 100% of the time. You'd think it might save the Parole Board some embarrassing questions, but no one in the media seems to have the balls to ask 'em.

The Story Changes: Ebola Is Now "Aerostable" And Can Remain On Surfaces For 50 Days

When it comes to Ebola, the story that the government is telling us just keeps on changing. At first, government officials were claiming that it was very difficult to spread the Ebola virus. Some of them were even comparing it to HIV. We were given the impression that we had to have “direct contact” with someone else’s body fluids in order to have any chance of catching the virus. But of course that is not true at all. Now authorities are admitting that Ebola is “aerostable”, that it can be “spread through droplets”, and that it can remain on surfaces for up to 50 days. That is far different information than we have been getting up until this point. So that means when they were so confidently declaring that they know exactly how Ebola spreads they were lying to us.

On October 24th, a 33 page document was released by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and in that document it is admitted that Ebola is “aerostable”

The information was contained in a 33-page report released Oct. 24 by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Department of Defense’s Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction....

read the entire jaw dropping thing

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-10-31/story-changes-ebola-now-aerostable-and-can-remain-surfaces-50-days

All of this directly contradicts what the CDC website has been telling us…

“To get Ebola, you have to directly get body fluids (like pee, poop, spit, sweat, vomit, semen, breast milk) from someone who has Ebola in your mouth, nose, eyes or through a break in your skin or through sexual contact.”

It turns out that is not even close to the truth.

I have a better idea. Instead of parole, how bout just executing them, say within a year or so of sentencing.

The Centers for Disease Control is looking to purchase body bags and a host of other personal protective equipment in response to the Ebola outbreak as concerns continue to linger about the spread of the virus.

A “sources sought” notice posted on FedBizOpps reveals that, “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Procurement and Grants Office (PGO) is seeking multiple sources of supply for personal protective equipment (PPE) for potential use in the current Ebola Virus Disease outbreak response.”

https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=fea4c766bc279fc4818a7c01fb937445&tab=core&_cview=0

According to an attachment entitled “List of Personal Protective Equipment for Sources Sought Notice,” the federal agency is looking to source suppliers of body bags that can hold 200-250 lbs of weight. The bags must also include, “At least 6 handholds included in the body bag to allow burial team to hand carry it safely.”

The advisory states that the body bags and other equipment are intended to be used both in West Africa and in response to other Ebola outbreaks worldwide.

The CDC is also looking to source surgical face masks, sterile gowns, infectious waste containers, and tarps amongst other PPE supplies. The notice does not specify the quantity of body bags that the CDC is looking to obtain.

In September, the State Department ordered 5,000 body bags to be sent to West Africa. The Ebola outbreak has infected over 13,700 people worldwide, with over 4900 fatalities.

Earlier this month, the CDC instructed funeral homes in the United States to bury Ebola victims in hermetically sealed caskets which must be secure “against the escape of microorganisms” and have valid documentation for being airtight. Last month, the CDC also issued a three page list of recommendations which warned funeral home workers not to carry out autopsies or to embalm corpses.

The Illinois Prisoner Review Board actually has nothing do do with the parole of anyone since 1978 or so, except to hold hearings for violations. The only parole hearings anymore are for the old "C" & "A" numbers, and they are all in their 60's or older...
IL Statute lays out sentencing, so once again, its the dopes in Springfield who make the laws who allow this.

I volunteer with an ex-offender reentry initiative so I don't agree with all- or even much- of what is posted here about this kinda stuff, but there is one thing where I very much do agree; Illinois is deeply dysfunctional when it comes to routinely releasing predatory murderers.

A lot of these sentences were under old guidelines and there is nothing we can do, we just have to grit our teeth and bear the inevitable for about another generation until inmates sentenced under the legacy guidelines die off, but one thing I thing everyone agrees on is that if you voluntarily take the life of another person in a predatory, criminal fashion, you should not ever get out again.

These are the fuckwads that make the broader issue since you try to make a case for not sentencing someone for 5, 8, 12 years for a first time meth offense, it immediately reverts back to murderers and unfortunately, cases like this are why. Fucking shitbag.

Liberalism is a mental disease. You can't reason with them because they don't have the capacity to think. They work solely on emotions, much like the savages, and would gladly see thousands die if it fit their world view.

Ebola risk? Go get some soup or take a bike ride. Don't quarantine yourself. You're a liberal!

Violent crime? Let them out early because they are not really at fault, it's the system of conservatives that caused them to victimize others.

This is who you vote for when you put socialists in charge or when you fail to show up to vote against them.

Ot.... today in 012 I got to watch the crossing guard supervisor come in a late and leave early. Not only her but I watched one of the three time keepers doing the same thing. And let's not forget the intelligence officer coming in at 10 and leaving only after 3 hours of work. So contact cards not happening from me. Screw it. Y not hold one of these people accountable. Makes me sick after 20 years on this job to see 012 even worse now then it was before the merger. And to boot all these officers mentioned I love to see how many hours they have on the books. Cuz I no my time gets taken.

A newly promoted lt who has been inside his whole career. Thanks Cuello.
A newly detailed lt from hq.
A lt who made captain and never left.
A p.o who was in the gym for 15 years, made sgt and never left.
And, the administrative sgt with less than 6 months as a sgt.

Next time you are complaining about po's do some math. Me thinks the bosses are making more.

Thank you for the information. Just because the supervisors are assigned to the academy does not mean that police officers are not scamming the system. The Inspector General needs to investigate and crack down on the "free days," "two hour days," and unqualified instructors. It is such a big scam that the recruits are getting cheated by not even learning the basics. I have been an FTO for about 10 years. The training is getting worse. The instructors pass the buck to the people on patrol, the burden of doing the training. Yes, many recruits tell the story of the three hour lunches, incompetent instructors, and the famous "read from the power point slides" training. If it continues this way, I am just going to give up my FTO spot.

Wouldn’t it be nice to apply good behavior to your property tax obligations? Paying those taxes on time for an extended period of time should earn you a discount, lets say 85% of the Cook County tax sentence, for all your good behavior meeting those obligatory taxman statutory mandated collection efforts. Reward and provide incentives for the wrongdoers in society while punishing those who are productive and law abiding in society. A double standard?

OT: Soo Choi, the Commissioner for the City Department of Human Resources and Garry are in round 2 of the battle for merit promotions. If you'll remember the illegal promotion (then demotion) of Gary's driver? The super refused to demote CH even when told he was ineligible, because the super truly believes it is his police department and he should be able to do whatever he wants. Soo had to step in to save a giant lawsuit from 100s of POs. Now, the super is furious that Soo Choi restricted the just announced lieutenant's test to sergeants with 2 years in grade. You see the newly engaged super has one or two "special friends" who he recently made merit sergeant, who he already promised would get lieutenant's bars before he leaves. He is now demanding Rahm overrule Soo, extend the application period, and strip the time-in grade requirement. It will be interesting to see how round 2 of Garry vs Soo goes. If he wins, look for some obviously inappropriate merit picks in the first new class of lieutenants! I will keep you up to date as it unfolds! -Fly at City Hall

I went through the academy a couple of years ago. I am not impressed. That place needs to be cleaned up and staffed with qualified personnel. There are two people who are doing all the work and keeping that place together. Those two people are the two civilian lawyers. They do an outstanding job and do most (if not all) of the work. They write lesson plans. They put books together. They ensure that all the recruits pass the state exam. The academy needs more people like them.

I an really getting sick to my stomach after realizing how hard some people on this job work and how others (academy, Homan Square, etc.) just fill up space. I just saw the transfer order sending people to Gang units, Intelligence, etc. and South Side districts. Great, half went where they were needed, the other half went to do-nothing spots. What is it going to take to get replenishment of depleted human resources in the detective division and evidence techs? By not replacing people, you are literally accelerating the number of retirements, exacerbating the problem tenfold. Why not just get rid of any investigation of crimes, period? The detective division is now officially a joke. Nothing is being investigated. Corners are being cut that are putting the public at further risk because offenders are not being identified and arrested, giving them carte blanche to blatantly commit more and more crimes, which then causes more work for patrol. Bosses don't care, and when they do, they say that there is nothing they can do about it and to suck it up. Yet manpower allocations continue to be misused. Do you wonder why Rahm will not hire more police? I think it that in part it has to do with how the police department manages itself. Until we can get rid of all the clouted, do nothing positions that exist on this department, why should the city hire more cops? If I was the mayor, I would certainly not add to the problem, but force the department to police itself, pun intended.

Is that supposed to be a big deal or something? Why are you announcing this? If it bothers you consider this: You are a police officer, do something about it. Pics, detailed log of times etc. Make a case report. Demand action and sign your name to all reports. Call Dave Savini and go on TV with your evidence of crimes. Go to court as a witness. Be part of the solution, don't just spill your gut on an anonymous blog, you might as well write it in magic marker on a shithouse wall.

Fight it yourself! I will be proud of you!
