Funny Numbers
- If you forgot about the city’s annual winter overnight parking ban going into effect early Monday, you may be one of more than 200 people who were towed overnight.
Since the ban went into effect at 3 a.m., 239 cars were towed, according to Molly Poppe, spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Streets and Sanitation.
239? That sounds familiar:
- The same number of vehicles — 239 — were also towed on the first day of last year’s ban, Poppe said.
Wow. Almost like there was a quota and after the drivers got their numbers, they stopped so they didn't mess up the curve.

239 Cars towed on a snowless night.
That's a lot less toys that some family's will be able to buy this Christmas.
It's all about the money.
I think it is great!
Just think Rahm has lost that many votes everyday.
The money grab has enraged many and hopefully No RETRO RAhm will be out!
Very similiar to contact cards. Districts exceed last years numbers by 1-2 every period. I wonder why/how that is?
It is necessary so emergency vehicles can move freely, and to protect the citizens automobiles.
OT: Isn't this Rahm Emanuel's former guy?

Former state official, now in Pakistan, faces 15 years in prison here
The mastermind of a $3.4 million kickback scheme in the Ohio treasurer’s office five years ago will spend 15 years in prison — if the Pakistani government ever returns him to the United States.
U.S. District Judge Michael H. Watson sentenced fugitive Amer Ahmad in absentia this afternoon for cooking up the scheme and enlisting three friends to participate.
The sentence was the maximum. Watson also ordered Ahmad to pay restitution of $3.2 million.
Before that, Watson sentenced co-conspirator Joseph M. Chiavaroli to 18 months in prison. Chiavaroli ran Going Green Landscaping, the company Ahmad used to launder profits from the scheme.
Chiavaroli, 34, now a Chicago real-estate broker, had pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering.

AND WHERE WERE THE 239 CARS PARKED? I am sure they weren't on the South and West sides.
It's selective enforcement like this that screams, "Stay out of Chicago" in this Holiday season.
We used to go shop on North Michigan Ave. and eat lunch at the Drake at least one Saturday in December.
Now? No way. Between the red-light cameras, the $40+ parking fees, the chance of crime, the chance of getting towed, and the 10% sales tax, other options look more appealing.
239 cars at a minimum of $210 a pop...that's just shy of $51k....not too shabby for one night. Rahm can spend it on the children.
Got Rham? Time to end his political career and this crap Only in Shitcago
Lottery numbers.
And the city just happened to have 50 or so tow trucks on hand to deal with this vital law enforcement issue.....
4 more years. I can't wait the leave this city
239 people who will never vote for a democrat again and hopefully tell their friends too.
"We used to go shop on North Michigan Ave. and eat lunch at the Drake at least one Saturday in December."
Used to do that too. The illegal parking, the towing, the yelling at 400 East Lower Wacker, the demotion, the banishment to 016, the medical, the memories...
If all the numbers are funny the important ones don't stand out

20 years ago I had my new Toyota truck towed. I paid to get it back, police or not you paid. Plus $1,300 damage by the gorillas in the two truck. Dec 1. 50 degrees and no snow. I never voted for any democrat since. Or before come to think of it. I just enjoyed it more not voting for democrats.
