Just about everyone in County govt is connected to some chinaman or other. If Ms Tracy stepped on their toes in her way of dealing with people with her impeccable people skills, I am sure Toni would be made aware and take notice. Off topic but a shooting yesterday morning at chicago and state. Drunken argument leads to gunshot to the gut of victim. Offender not in custody yet but guess what??? He' has a concealed carry license and according to numerous witnesses this guy was blind drunk and beligerent. I forsee GMAC jumping all over this. Drunk and concealed carry lead to a shooting of a pretty legit victim in the Gold Coast.. It will be a small step back for the concealed carry supporter argument

If this is true, there will be one important difference: the good citizens of this city, concealed carry fan or not, will be glad to see this person caught and prosecuted.

True enough. It seems like the politicians clout in the biggest fucktards and imbeciles that they can find. we have an entire cadre where I work that are lightweights who screw around with legitimate people who are educated. Ignorant beyond words.
We've got a real beauty on my government job. She accused me of being a bully because I asked her if she had a certain credential for her position. I take it she didn't have the credential.
Just another day in the city.
From her bio page: "Over the past three years, President Preckwinkle has built the credibility of County government. She eliminated the 1% sales tax of her predecessor, saving County residents $1.1 billion."
Getting rid of that sales tax might get Toni my vote for lack of anyone better.
But for whatever executive position Tracey was hired for wasn't there someone in county government who could take the job. Why hasn't Toni developed such people from within. That's like Richie and Rahm bringing in Jody or McNumbnuts.

0414hrs, you are SO wrong. I know of two people who pulled their papers. One came back to the job and one changed her documents to LOA after a couple of years, presumably so she could continue to contribute to the pension while employed elsewhere. Both had to call in favors, one from HQ and one from City Hall, to change their status. So, yes, it happens, and it can be documented.

Lots of people have been putting their papers in for the 55 and out and tried to pull the papers without success. Can't be done they were all told. There was a Deputy Chief who tried to change his mind and was told no.
So one clouted individual got a favor from HQ and one from a Mayor comprises documented proof? Oh, I see, my mistake, I'll let everyone know. Where do we find this documentation? The documentation would help the dozens who change their mind.
Documented proof, I like that. I'll tell them to bring that up to FOP next time Bella etc. tells them No Way.
I was at the Rolling meadows courthouse today and overheard a loud talking building maintainance man talking about how the county fired poor Tracey Ladner last Friday and that she was the best thing that happened to the county workers, well, I stepped over and told him just what I and thousands of other CPD members thought of poor tracey!!!!. I left him speechless when I told him just what and how she was.
